You people are nuts. Players, coaches, and GMs all want to win. Frequently, they violate rules- both major and minor- to help them win. From the beginning, I strongly suspected Brady was complicit in deflating balls below the league-mandated level. However, I never really thought it was that big of a deal. It's not PED-bad. It's probably not even spitball bad. A little apology, a fine, maybe a one game suspension. Brady could have said that referees had forced him to play with balls over 12.5, and he broke the rules by requiring the equipment guys to deflate them back down to 12.5 after the inspection. But Brady and Kraft both proclaimed their innocence and backed Goodell into a corner. They essentially forced the investigation. And the investigation at least strongly suggested Brady was complicit in violating the rules. Was the Wells report done well? I think not. Was there a preponderance of evidence? Debatable. Was the punishment excessive? Almost certainly. So again, Kraft throws down the gauntlet and challenges the league with a response to the Wells report and subsequent commitment to fight the punishment. Then, suddenly and seemingly inexplicably, he backs down and accepts the punishment. Did he just decide he didn't want to fight it? I seriously doubt it. He either received some secret benefit- which I believe is unlikely- or more likely, became aware of additional evidence or information that would make Brady and the Pats looks worse. So he wisely cut his losses. My prediction is Brady will eventually do the same in one way or another. Maybe accept a 2 game suspension as a resolution. Regardless. to turn against an organization that has constantly put a winning product on the field for all these years, merely because they don't contest a punishment that is probably a bit heavy handed but not without some justification is absolutely ludicrous. If you want to give up your season tickets or jerseys or whatever because you are done with the Pats please contact me. I'll be happy to take them off your hands. But you're all full of it- you'll be regulars on this board agains by the time camp opens.

No. YOU are the one who is full of it and doesn't understand that people are turning against the OWNER.

OH, and moron, Brady didn't do a damn thing. Only dumbasses who flunked basic physics class and have no concept of the Ideal gas law think otherwise.

FU Kraft

If anyone expected Kraft to side with Tom Brady, his team and its fans instead his fellow billionaires, they were brought up short today. Make no mistake, Kraft is all about the money. Working folks could learn a few things about class solidarity from Kraft and his crew.

Kraft sells. Football and overpriced food and malls and so on. When given the choice of remaining a salesman or have integrity like Al Davis. He showed us what he is all about and that is the money! Our money that he has no problem helping himself to because most lack the fortitude to stick it up his @ss and stop spending on this product. We are the Only b!tches I see.

What I wanted:
Things I want:
  1. Brady's suspension overturned.
  2. The fine tabled against the Patriots dismissed.
  3. The return of the Patriots draft picks.
  4. A full and unreserved apology from Roger Goodell.
  5. An independent investigation into the sting operation.
  6. Roger Goodell being removed from office.
Missed anything?

What I got:

@MarkDanielsPJ: Chandler Jones on Kraft today: "I heard it briefly. My reaction really is Mr. Kraft knows what he's doing. I'm behind him 110%."

Never liked his game much anyway. Sheard is an upgrade and we have Flowers after that.

Ship Chandler for a CB. :D

Kinda my point... he's obviously not the most emotionally stable person it seems if Goodell can make him cry like that..
Yes. During his statement, he didn't look like a CEO but like an elderly gentleman who was emotionally overwrought. I wonder if his son tried to talk him out of it?

Wasn't really talking about the trying to tear Kraft down side of it. Kraft will be a rich man either way. Do you not understand how wealthy this man is? You're foolish to think losing some season ticket holders will hurt him. From what I've seen outside of this board, many Pats fans are upset but this is the only place I've seen that wants to completely jump ship on the Patriots. So go ahead give up the season tickets.
New people will fill them in. Gladly.

I'm not saying I like it. But it's just the truth.

No. It's not the truth. And there aren't as many people, today, willing to take those tickets.
If Kraft were to lose 25% of his season ticket holders, he'd take notice. If Kraft gets flooded by calls from advertisers telling him that they are cancelling their association with the Patriots because they don't want to be associated with cheaters, he'll take notice.

You clearly don't have enough of a grasp of business to understand when someone will take notice of things. And you clearly don't know a damn thing about the Patriots fan bas if you think that this is the only place where people are upset and talking about giving up their tickets.. Chris Price has been inundated with tweets of anger over this.. So have the other Boston media worth noting..

Thanks Chandler, knowing you support this pathetic move makes it that much easier to stop watching.

Honestly...is anyone really THAT surprised? Because i am not

BTW, anyone ever seen this guy in a properly tailored suit? Billionaire doesn't know wtf collar-gap is.

I guess we learned what Kraft was all about when he turned the end zone seats into a lounge.

I really didn't think it could get worse than when he stuck up for Goodell after the Ray Rice scandal... but this.

I REALLY, truly question his integrity; to the point where I just won't be able to "overlook" it this season.

That's his boss, he doesn't really have a choice to say otherwise. Especially coming up on a new contract.

Chandler is just trying to get a big pay day from the boss.

The complete stupidity of what Kraft did today is just beginning to dawn on me.

When you think about it, the Cowboys and the Steelers and the Packers and the 49'ers and the Redskins and, to a lesser degree, the Broncos with Peyton...those are all teams with national followings. Why do you think they are worth so much?

The rest of the country turned on the Patriots after spygate out of jealousy or some feigned indignation. So, all Kraft had was us...people who live in or (in my case) used to live in New England. Today, unless there was a deal for a complete lifting of Brady's suspension, Bob Kraft basically spat in our faces.

Dumb move, Bob.

Maybe, but I'd bet my house Brady doesn't say anything close to that. But yes, Brady is much richer, etc.

Yeah Brady is definitely a different situation. I want to hear from BB, we haven't heard from him in a while.

In retrospect, I'm not, but I'll admit that I had held out more hope than many of you and I was wrong. I admit it.

I knew we were in trouble (and commented about in in the thread that was "watching" the event together) when I saw that he was going to step on to an NFL Podium with the NFL banner in the background. I was pretty sure that the League would never have given him that stage if he were going to say something defiant. But even then, I held out hope, fool that I am.

You fooled me once (Spygate), so shame on you, Mr. Kraft.

But if I let you fool me again, the shame is on me.

I'll wait to see if there was a deal for the lifting of TB's entire suspension, but once that doesn't occur...I'm done with this Franchise.
