Don't hate on Kraft just yet

You think that it's common sense to sue the league in violation of its bylaws. OK. You are certainly entitled to that view.

The reality is that the team will play the 2015 and the next and the next and the next. Many of the players will be gone. Eventually, the coach will be gone. You can choose to be a patriot fan, a fan of another team, or not follow the NFL at all.

The choice is yours to make. As has happened over time, many will leave. Many new fans will come.
========
In the meantime, you can use whatever language you want to criticize the owner and the league. Hopefully, Ian will archive all this nonsense so that we look at in a couple of years, when patriot fans have long forgotten all this nonsense.

I think you should

  1. stop with the passive aggressiveness. It doesn't work on me, and it's boring.
  2. stop making up strawmen. That doesn't work with me, either.
  3. get some rest. You seem to be way off lately.

And, since when do I worry about anything in the so-called archives? Hell, our posts are available for people to find, and people still make things up, so why should I worry about the honest versions of what I've written?

Yes, you agree with the vase majority posting here.

They would rather have an owner like Al Davis and a team like the Raiders. Al Davis is the only other owner ever to sue the league,

Only one problem with your theory, al Davis got his way by sueing.

Would that be so horrible? (To get rid of this insane punishment.)

And by the way, what comes next: Popcorn vendors yelling too loud - that's an unfair noise advantage; oh you guys are multiple past offenders. -- lets make that three number 1 draft picks forfeited.

For years I, and many others both here and elsewhere, complained about and criticized Kraft for failing to even mildly rebuke the league over its Spygate sanctions. My main reason has always been that we fans, unlike Kraft, have always taken the brunt of the " Cheatriots" BS from other teams' fans. I always felt capable of making a reasoned argument in those situations, but I got weary of it long ago. After this, I'm not even thinking about defending this team. Anyway, once again, Bob gets to schmooze with the beautiful people in his ivory tower and we, the peasants, will get excoriated. F### that...

I have friends and relatives across the country. Unlike Kraft i'm not a billionaire surrounded by a hot young thing and sycophants. I've heard all the cheating crap and always defended the team and no more. He chose the folks in the billionaire boys club over the fans.

As far as I am concerned, the Pats cheated. Why else would anyone accept punishment for nothing?

There will not be a single jets, colts, donkeys etc etc fan who doesn't read it this way. If they manipulated the balls, I would have preferred admission and apology to Kraft's BS statement. Did he really think no one would notice when he told his team's fanbase to GFY?

Let's be clear. I think that Kraft could have won a law suit.

The Chargers appealed when they were fined for the sticky towels, and they won. Are the Chargers now pariahs in the NFL?

I'm serious. Looking at the post from the last few weeks will be a funny exercise in a couple of years. I'm not talking about "worrying" about archives. I just think that the comments will seem funny after the patriots continue to win, as they have since Spygate.

I'm all done, we've all been through so much, I am frigin tired of losing 1st round critical draft picks and for Kraft not to fight for that, for us, c'mon man. We've bled for our QB and this team, have listened too and will continue to the BS from all the other fans and now our owner is rolling over.. Absolute ********, I am all done....

Who gives a **** about Brady coming back, it's the 1st round pick I have the issue with. It's ********, it's wrong.

If the Patriots continue to win the league will just find some other trumped up charge to over punish them on and they have no fear of reprisals since they now know the emperor has no sack.

I'm serious about what I wrote, too. And the Patriots winning is irrelevant to the discussion, just as it's been irrelevant to the Spygate discussion.

Now we're switching to a new argument.

We have been discussing a balls to the wall approach, including law suits.

But, OK, I agree with you here. I would have formally objected to team punishment. That is the process that the CBA lays out. I would have publicly presented arguments against the judgement and the severity of punishment, even with Goodell as the arbiter. That is what the CBA calls for.

Goodell promised the same thing to the Saints if they "educated" themselves on the matter. Didn't happen.

How many teams have had 1st and 4th round picks taken away, double the maximum available fine, and their star player suspended 4 games for something they didn't do?

Suing the league doesn't make him Al Davis, it makes him an owner whose rights were violated.

OP : Kraft sided with the likes of Irsay over Brady. I will hate on Kraft now.

How can he "appeal" when there's no appeal process? If he checked with his lawyers and they said he couldn't win a lawsuit, should he tilt at windmills to appease the fans?

Rather than lose a lawsuit and make goodell stronger, I hope he's working the politics to get rid of him.

Kraft is a spineless jellyfish.
Brady should never speak to him ever again. So much for loving tom/believing him.

All talk from our gutless owner.
