I used to follow the red sox until the mid 90's when they went on strike over... i dont even remember what and pretty much thought "F" these idiots, they can all drop dead. The amount of baseball i've seen since then cant be more then 10 hours and thats in places like bars where I didnt have access to a remote. One of those years they won i didnt even know it until I accidentally learned checking a local tv stations site the day after, thats how much I got turned off.

Today I watched kraft and thought "F" this idiot, he can drop dead. Wont know if i'll even give a crap in september, but i DO know even if i bother to watch a game here or these there's no way in hell kraft will ever make another dime off of me. None.

"It's a players game"

-Bill Belichick

I remind you that not one of those players would be here if it weren't for Kraft, not one. The team would have been playing in St Louis or Hartford.

If it weren't for the fans, BB and Brady the franchise wouldn't be worth 2.6B and he spit on his customers, coach and GOAT player. F'em

I am done buying merchandise. I get why he did today, but just because I get it doesn't mean I agree with it. I doubt I'll go to a game again. Glad I never put myself on the season ticket list.

I can't make an sense of your post.

The patriots were punished for something that they didn't do. We all know that. The owner refused to sue the NFL. As an owner, that is his choice. He has asked us to respect his choice. You choose to not support the team. That is your choice.

Whoa, he didn't only choose not to sue.
He chose not to challenge or appeal. He chose to 'end it rather than extend it'.
He chose to commend Roger Goodell and defend his decision to punish the Patriots AND TOM BRADY FOR SOMETHING THEY DIDN'T DO.
He chose to not mention Tom Brady's name anywhere alongside his praise of the Commissioner.

He doesn't have the right to ask us to respect his choice, because he sold out, and I cannot find one fan who supports that decision.

But what does this provide to the topic of the current status of being a Pats fan?
I don't know it was a response to the claim we wouldn't have players and would be in St Louis or Hartford if it wasn't for Bob Kraft. You'll have to figure out why that would be.

I love and will always love the patriots.

People call the 70s steelers cheaters but when was the last time you heard anyone argue about it?

This will last forever but eventually no one will care.

Just go and get superbowl 5 and make it all feel better.

I've only been a Patriots (read: football) fan for a couple of seasons. I'm embarrassed to say that I rooted against them in the 2010 SB just to get under my girlfriend's skin. I didn't give two &@&!s about the sport back then. However, I've quickly become emotionally invested in this team. Watching the players compete has been an absolute joy.

Initially, I was very upset about Mr. Kraft's conference. Perhaps it's not so much what he said but how he said it. He showed 0 signs of respect for his players, coaches, or fans. I do partially think that we were fools for thinking that he would sue the league. I'd love to ask him, "when will enough be enough?" At age 77 does monetary gain outweigh the legacy of your organization and GOAT quarterback? Especially when you already have so many riches?

I am embarrassed to have him as the owner of the NEP, at least a little. But this does not change much for me. I will still root for the team and I will still continue to tell all of the haters around me to &@!$ off.

My only hope at this point is that Brady can regain his image through his appeal and any other legal actions. He deserves better than this.

I just don't give a s*** anymore. Disappointed in Kraft, but whatever, his lack of fight doesn't make BB and Brady any less awesome. Call my team cheaters, I don't care, kiss the rings on your way to the Your Team Cheats website. Sad to see the team beaten down upon, but it does make their successes a bit sweeter.

Once Brady and BB are gone, I'll have to reevaluate my fandom of the NEP, but I'll probably still watch their games. I was never a fan simply because of Kraft; it's always been and always will be about the players.

Haters are always going to hate, the smart fans will know this was all BS. Goodell will get his eventually. I just don't have the energy to be angry about it anymore.

I agree Ross, I love this team, no matter what BS they try and pile on us. Once the season starts, I'll be right there routing Brady, Belichick and Gronk no matter what. I wouldn't want to have any other QB or coach here. No matter what penalty they hand out, nothing is going to take away that Superbowl victory from us.

I think the 70's stickum era Raiders are a great example of this.

To be fair to Kraft. There's nothing he could have done to make people stop calling the Pats cheaters. Even if he got the NFL to admit that they went way out of line without any proof and remove all penalties we would still have the same people as before calling the Patriots cheaters. They would either fall back on spygate or just say that Kraft is a buddy with Goodell and made the penalties go away. You can't really argue with these people because they have already decided that the patriots are cheaters no mater what. And some of these will still call the Pats cheaters in 30 years. But a lot of people that are fans of other teams already see us as just a great team, and even more so will probably look at this dynasty as just that in 30 years.

Not saying that I didn't want Kraft to fight. Just that he could fight how ever much. But people that have decided that we are cheaters wouldn't change their minds.

Those things happenned when the only media was a newspaper and 5 minutes of sports mostly about the local team. We are in an era where gallons of digital ink are spilled and consumed every day. This is not going away, it is bigger than the Steelers because it happenned in this era. This is part of NFL history, and it's really foolish to think a scandal this big will disappear. It's not fair to be a victim of our time, or one of invented cheating but it won't be forgotten.

dislike Kraft very much right now.

will root for the team as long as TB and BB are around. see what happens after that.

some people are crazy..just enjoy the games on sundays..jeez

If what Kraft has given us doesn't his right to ask you for his loyalty, so be it.

No, Kraft didn't mention Brady. Kraft was not discussing Brady's punishment.

So, let us say that Kraft had appealed to the Commissioner and lost. Then everything would be OK with you? Really? No, this is not about Kraft not objecting. It is about you personally disagreeing with Kraft.

Good point... Pats will take some heat for a little while but ultimately it will be forgotten down the road. People barely give a crap about teams who dominated and actually really cheated with illegal techniques (stickum) or 'roiding up (Steelers), not to mention salary cap violations (49ers, Broncos, others). I don't think 20-30 years from now people will be saying "Oh those '00 era Pats were such cheaters, they filmed a practice or something, and they messed with that air pressure in their footballs that one game..."

If America doesn't give a crap about stickum and steroids, they'll likely forget about tapes and PSI pretty quick.

BS. If he attacks and wins the "cheaters" whining becomes that much more pathetic. Now "even your owner knows you cheat" is on the table.

I've tried freeing up Sundays for years now, so I'm not naive enough to believe I'd be able to keep any promise to never watch again. That said, my interest for sports has fatigued the past decade or so, to the point where I'm not bothered by missing a Patriots game and I don't care at all about the Red Sox. I suspect this will be just another stepping stone toward the same being said about the Patriots in a few years. The only thing really standing in the way of that is my 7 year old is now an enormous fan. Hard to quit now.

My biggest personal lament in all this is how, as Holley succinctly put it, Kraft let the trolls win. After several wasted hours defending the team against unfounded accusations, those simpletons can now just sit back and gloat. I don't know if sense was ever threatening to work its way into the dark recesses of their dust covered intellects, but I can say with certainty it won't get through now.

You are dreaming.

You are dreaming.
I could be, I just feel like no one gives a crap about all the cheating done by all the other teams over the decades, why would they hold a grudge forever against this team? I may be wrong though...
