As an NFL historian I can't imagine Belichick is OK with this

Some of us are older than 15. We have loyalty to the New England Patriots. When the owner who kept the team in New England twice asks us to accept his decision after giving us the best 20 years in patriots history, we give it.

For some, loyalty means getting what you want NOW. I get it. Those folks were furious when Kraft, Brady and Belichick didn't sue the league the day the actions were taken buy the league. Others have a much longer view.

Kraft made a judgement, as he has made hundreds of judgements in his long business career. I get it that folks that they think that they know how to run a business and a team better than Kraft has done. This happens all the time. The internet makes it even easier for folks to be disloyal and want instant gratification.

Kraft made the best decision for the league and himself.

Win or lose this lawsuit, he was hurting himself long term if this created a cloud over the nfl in its current state. Easier to be labeled as a cheater while being the billionaire owner of the patriots than watching the value of the league crumble pursuing what was right

Not only would I endorse BB's decide to resign if he did, I would *** ENCOURAGE *** it right now. We've seen exactly where his boss' loyalties lie. He not only let BB twist in the wind with Spygate, but publicly piled on him. What's to stop the over aged skirt chaser from letting him out to dry again, when next time the knives come for BB? And, I assure you THEY WILL. Those that want to get him and the Pats have to feel completely bold now.

BB could resign immediately and it would be justified but I hope he doesn't. I still love the Patriots and hope they continue to win in spite of the fact that we have a spineless coward for an owner.

The top isn't the top any more. We never got there. 2001*, 2003*, 2004*, 2014*

In fact, 14 seasons 2001-2014 all have asterisks on them, and Bob Kraft agreed to put them there.

I Agree. The other owners and fans had enough and finally beat the pats the only way they could. They cheated and the league was in on it.

So many problems with this whole case and scenario its sickening. I mean you can just list all the things wrong for hours. Total joke.

Whatever. I was smart enough to know not to take any sports team too serious. If I can give up on the Bruins (where I never missed a game on TV for years and years) I can give up on this sad sack of a league.

The patriots reached the top in 2oo2. They have gone very far UP since then.

Nope. All 4 championships have been contested for cheating and the owner of the franchise made absolutely zero attempt to overcome the accusations.
We have 4* championships and the * is only due to Bob Kraft.

can we stop the merging?

Respectfully disagree. The "League" would be best served by having an NFL office that was interested in getting into the TRUTH of matters and that would be perceived by the general public and its players as being interested in reaching JUST conclusions. What the "League" really needs to do is clean house. Only by cleaning out the rats nest of corruption at Park Avenue, can the league emerge in a healthy condition. Right now nobody trusts the NFL offices, least of all its considerably valuable workforce - the players.

Did you read my whole post before disliking it

I would also like BB to resign, but I can't imagine that BB wasn't informed of this press conference prior to today. BB I think has accepted Krafts decision.

I agree

But that's a fantasy and you know it

I understand you're concerns Andy but let this play out. There must be an explanation to Kraft rolling over like this.[/QUOTE
The bottom line is the bottom line. Kraft does not give a crap about the team or its fans. He is without honor or dignity and willing to crawl on his belly for a buck. He has no compunctions throwing his two most important employees to wolves to protect his relationship with people that hate and laugh at him.

As a historian, I'd say Belichick is on to Pittsburgh.

Maybe he cares, maybe he doesn't. It's unlikely he'll ever admit it.

Right, BB hasn't said anything since before the Super Bowl. Who the hell knows what he's thinking? But if I were asked to bet on it I'd bet that quitting is the furthest thing from his mind.

Hmm lets see, IF Bob takes the hard road he'll probably lose a lot of his new friends, and some money. But if Bob takes the easy road and throws the team, qb, coach and fans under the bus he gets to keep his new friends, the league has peace, and is free to make More MONEY. In the end it came down to living the life with his ne BFF, and making/having more Money by not suing and standing up for his integrity. If BB quites i wouldn't blame him, and it would serve Bob right.

If people don't think the Krafts spoke with both Brady and Belichick prior to Kraft's concession, I would disagree 100%.

But hey, many of you have already given up on the Patriots, so you don't care anyway....right?

The problem with Bill resigning is that would give the other 31 owners, evidently Kraft's lovers, exactly what they want. They want the Belichick era to end, Belichick resigning would give them just that.

i've always had the idea that BB didn't like kraft.
just watch belichick's football life. you can tell that bb's irritated by kraft's idiocy when it comes to football matters.

jellyfish owes everything to tb12/bb yet he took a massive dump on them today

I think what is in order is the grand FU tour (19-0) with the back-back SB and then while accepting the trophy, BB decks the commissioner, hands R-the traitor-K a napkin with an 'I resign you cowardly prick' opened for the cameras to see, and then take the frigging trophy with him saying 'this is going in my patriot place, yours only has room for yellow ribbons'. 'And your so friggin smart asshat, you figure out how to play in 2016 without a nr 1 pick'

I would venture to guess that what pisses him off the most is the loss of the draft picks. I know that's what burns my ass. We can survive four games without Brady (not that we should have to) but losing picks is outrageous.

When a team loses a 1st round pick, it should be for something so egregious that a casual fan would be able to clearly tell you why.

Assuming the Brady wins his lawsuit and gets the Wells report discredited, what would be the obvious reason for losing that 1st?

Well, aren't you special. I'm 56 - want to compare resumes?
