As an NFL historian I can't imagine Belichick is OK with this

I know, he'll tell you we're onto Pittsburgh but I can't help but think that someone like Belichick who has such a deep appreciation for the history of the NFL is sick to his stomach. He knows the stain this will leave on his legacy as well as Brady's. He has to be pissed to be sold up the river by his owner, not once but twice.

Thanks Kraft, don't be surprised if you receive a napkin that says I Resign as HC of the NEP.

Kraft should kiss the ground Belichick and Brady walk on for the success and money they have brought him. Instead he just took a sh*t on them.

He should be livid. For the entirety of four months, we've been told by everyone to do with the Patriots, BB, Brady, Kraft, all other players, that they did nothing wrong. Now, Kraft just lays down and takes punishment for something they all said didn't happen. Because Kraft cares more about being in the club with 31 other owners than standing up for his players, coaches and fans of the team. At least he can go to owners meetings in peace now while a typical Pats fans can't wear any gear outside without being ridiculed.

BB should be extremely pissed, too, because the punishment directly impacts the product he puts on the field.

I completely agree. Belichick has always been deeply in-tune with his own legacy. And he's always been a student of the game above all else. Now that he's been sh.it on again he has to be out of his mind.

I would venture to guess that what pisses him off the most is the loss of the draft picks. I know that's what burns my ass. We can survive four games without Brady (not that we should have to) but losing picks is outrageous.

This isn't about draft picks and suspensions.

Jesus H. Christmas, some people JUST. DON'T. GET. IT.

Living almost his whole life in a football field or surroundings, BB must have seen a lot of dirty, but this is just too much. I hope he quits and says everything he has to say.

I would buy a ticket to Boston to go to his house give him a hug and a piece of lasagna my wife made last sunday.

Are you referring to their legacy? I get that. I'm just talking about the immediate consequences. The tarnishing of the reputations is a lot more serious.

I'm talking about no longer giving a rat's ass.

If you get caught cheating, admit it. If you didn't do it, fight it - all the way. You cannot walk a middle line on this. You just can't.

If it's just about football, who cares?

I think the man at least deserves fresh lasagna.

As a historian, I'd say Belichick is on to Pittsburgh.

Maybe he cares, maybe he doesn't. It's unlikely he'll ever admit it.

It gets better in the day after lol, just like pizza.

There's nothing like a cold slice of pizza when you in your twenties get home sunday, around 8 am.

Just be happy the nfl didn't go after belechick in this witch hunt.

I'd really be steaming if belechick wad out for the year.

I 100% agree! If Kraft was so concerned about the NFL, how did he turn his back on the fact that an opposing organization conspired with the NFL to operate a sting operation in the hopes of causing enough distraction to win a playoff game or to help cripple a team before the SB? The whole business is decaying from the inside and Kraft is fiddling.

This would have made Machiavelli jealous.

Oh, don't get too cozy with that sentiment my friend. Guess what BB just might be the next "target". And, now since the spineless jellyfish just surrendered yet AGAIN, this time his main key player, last time BB, it just gives a "green light" to any faction that want to go after the Patriots (or any other team) for that matter in the future (but especially NE). Do you know how easy it is now to "set up" a team for something like this? Next time, the target WILL be BB. And, they figure the over the hill bimbo chaser will just sit back and "take it for the team"(NFL) like he did not once but twice now. If I were BB, I would walk in his office tell RK, FU, Mr. Kraft, I am out of here.

My guess is that he discussed this with BB before the announcement.

I'd say the chance of BB working for another team post-Patriots just went up.

Indeed, I'd say it's limited mainly by the possibility that he actually wants to retire around the age he'll be when Brady is done.

The chance that Brady leaves the Patriots when his contract is finished just went up even more strongly.
