Bedard: Kraft's decision to stand down does not include a deal on Brady

On the other hand, this could be an intentional leak.

"Goodell-Kraft attended Sean McManus’ 60th birthday Sat in NYC; they were spotted “on a couch, talking by themselves for quite a long time."

Riveting stuff...
Ole Rog must have slipped him a roofie.

Why would it these are two separate penalties.

Are you really this clueless?

The thought was if the sides were talking of a compromise that one outcome could be Kraft doesnt appeal or drag the NFL to court and accepts the team penalties and goodell overturns Brady's suspension.

bad news...

how is brady going to get the suspension reduced at this point?
tom should fight regardless since his jellyfish owner gave up. all of that talk/outrage for nothing..

kraft is a coward.

If friggin Ray Rice can get his overturned then Brady can. Brady has the NFLPA Union backed by one of the best Lawyers. The Wells report will get torn to shreds. Brady about to show Kraft how to fight.

I ask all the Pats fans to stop going to the game, stop buying the jerseys, don't spend another penny on Patriots as a protest of Kraft's statement. Please spread this message as much as you can.

this is the worst. how can i be expected to follow this team now? i am so f--king pissed off about this. im totally embarrassed to be a patriots fan. what a joke.

keep dreaming. kraft will have a sit down with brady and convince him to stick his tail between his legs.

What Kraft got out of it was not rocking the boat and not setting a precedent of challenging the commissioner's authority. He's thinking as a part-owner of the league, and if his team, fanbase, coach and QB are a casualty in thinking that way, then oh well. The only thing he gives a **** about is how much money he can print and how reliably he can print it going forward. **** him.

If he has even a shred of integrity left, he'll never claim to be a longtime fan again, because he clearly isn't a fan. He's a businessman looking to protect his economic interests, full stop.

It was either this or blackmail.

How negotiations went.

Goodell: "I will concede nothing, keep the punishment, and **** on your player if you agree to publicly capitulate."

Kraft: "Deal!"

Kraft's brilliant negotiation skills may have been overstated.

I do. It's a win/win for Goodell. He still looks tough - still brings the Pats back to the pack by nicking the draft choice, but avoids a court case from Brady. That was my pessimistic prediction as soon as I heard Kraft was speaking. He capitulates, and then a few days later Brady's suspension is gone, thereby putting an end to the whole episode.

Fans should wear a Kraft mask and wave a white flag at the season opener. Not that I encourage buying tickets.

still trying to apply logic to this situation is a mistake.

kraft should have just come out and apologize that his team keeps winning. and suggest that all teams get a trophy at the end of the year like they do with kids leagues now.

First off I never f*cking thought that you troll. Maybe if you weren't busy trying to troll you would see that some people were talking about that being maybe a possible compromise if they were really working out some sort of compromise.

It's certainly win/win for Goodell. And with a win/win, there is a lose/lose, and that's where Kraft comes in.

Brady will remain punished, Belichick will remain punished (the draft picks), and the reputation of TB and BB now permanently smeared.

I still need to know if this is true.... why would Kraft ever agree to something like this without their being an agreement?

Hello guys...
I don't post much but been here reading for a long time and this is my theory...

- What if Kraft was requested by Brady's lawyers to remove the team out of the equation. With all the complains and data posting in the web Kraft might be damaging Brady's defense by preparing the NFL lawyers with information. If Brady proves innocence then by default the team cannot be penalized. If after Brady wins the NFL upholds the penalty on the team then Kraft has a case to go to court.

Don't get me wrong. I'm still furious about this bull crap but I have to be hopeful this is the case.
