BB the GM lets Tom down from 2009-2013.
Kraft lets Tom down in 2015.

I'm sure Irsay was thinking about the other 31 teams when drop the info to Kravitz or OK'ed the sting operation on the Pats. I'm sure Jerry Jones felt the same way when he sued the league so he could keep more of the merchandising money.

Couldn't believe the number of blind, Kraft ball-washing apologists in the Reiss thread. Now you guys know.

And Kraft can't have it both ways--make no mistake, this is essentially Kraft and the NFL vs. Brady at this point. Choose your side.

I think a lot of fans are jumping to assumptions. We don't know what Kraft was facing. We don't know what his lawyers were telling him, and we don't know what the backchannel conversations were telling him.

Perhaps he made a deal to get Goodell to recuse himself from the Brady hearing. Perhaps a lawsuit was viewed as likely to be dismissed (thus furthering the haters ammo).

I do think its unlikely that he would abandon Brady and his team's image or his legacy without really being in a no win situation and I do trust that he made the best decision that was available to him.

People that think he was doing this for money... Lol, I guarentee he's lost more money out of the predictable fan reaction than anything the league has ever done to him.

Billionares don't give a **** about nickel and dime affairs, and they definitely care much more about their legacies than anything else.
It's not just Kraft lying down it's the words he used. Go back and read his statement again....and then try not to throw up in your mouth.
There is a HUGE difference between "accepting" (Kraft's word) and "not fighting" those sanctions.

Despite what's tweeted I can see one motivation for this surrender.
Penalty dropped on Brady such that his suit is moot.

WHY would Kraft & league do this?

Simple, they fear and I mean FEAR losing the anti-trust exemption and felt that it would be in play and at risk in the Brady suit.

Bob sold his dignity and integrity for money. That's on him, and I don't care, since I don't ever have to deal with the man.

Bob sold out his team, and his QB. That I care about. For me, this is now strictly about following the G.O.A.T., and then I'm done.

Kraft can go eat a whole bag.

Anyone else notice Brady's name never came up?
Kraft stabbed him in the back. Now when Brady wins his appeal NFL observers will say it was a fix set up by Kraft.
Bob Kraft should not be allowed to set foot on the Gillette stadium turf without being deafeningly booed.
Bob Kraft is a traitor.
Tom Brady should demand a trade and Bill Belichick should resign today.
I agree, bob gutless kraft has taken them for granted, along with us.

Sadistically listening to Felger & Mazz. Starting out with a bang.

Excellent point. Yes it is!!!! Nice job Bob.

I'm going to step away from the board for a while. It's not because of any of you, I am just feeling more and more like the NFL is not a league (and the Patriots are not a team) worth following in the current climate. I'm sure a large part of that feeling is the emotions of ground zero, but I need to do some serious thinking about how I want to spend my emotional energy. So I'm going to step away and regroup. I'm sure it doesn't matter to most people, I don't know why I'm even announcing it. Probably for cathartic reasons. I'll see everyone in a little bit.

All the fans are the real owner of the NE Patriots, not the Kraft family. It is all the fan spend money to support the team. If Kraft family betrayed fans, we should start a movement to have them removed as the owner of NE Patriots.

Anyone? Anyone?

I'll bite.

I've gotta think that Kraft has no compelling reason to get in front of the cameras today unless a quid pro quo is involved. The chronology of events could be as follows:

Today: Kraft and Goodell make peace and Kraft announces, after careful consideration, he will not sue the League
Today and tomorrow: media swarming all over the subject, offering all sorts of opinions from "guilty as charged" to classy move, but most will gravitate towards classy move.
Later this week: Goodell announces a more lenient punishment for both the Patriots and Brady (doesn't he only have 10 days from the day Brady appealed last week?) whereby he acknowledges the continued leadership of Kraft and showing himself to be a "bigger man"...able to recognize the punishment may not have been fairly applied, or substantiated, and even crediting Kraft's remarks of today in his decision-making process on the appeal.

Note: this doesn't necessarily change Brady's strategy (I'm guessing) unless he is fully exonerated. I don't believe Kraft would guarantee that he could "deliver" Brady's compliance. But he very well could have delivered a message from Brady's camp indicating a possible middle ground. Bottom line: it's in everyone's best interest to put this all behind them.

This whole thing is just disgusting. It's all media fueled, jealousy & hate stemming from pathetic, petty human beings.

Take care of yourself

You know what's even worse than accepting these ABSURD punishments and not doing anything to help Brady?

Giving Goodell a big fat hug. That's ****ing traitorous if you ask me.
