Jason Cole said his sources say that the League is recognizing that the Wells report is flawed and the punishment is too severe and the although the Pats believe they are innocent there are too many pieces evidence they cannot explain away. It is likely a deal is imminent and it will reduce the penalty. Supporting the Schefter report with more info.

Bleacher report is about as credible as my ass

If this is true -- and it sounds plausible, but we've heard plenty false stuff before -- the key question to me is how much they are willing to reduce the penalties. I will be really disappointed if we don't at least get our first round pick back.

there will be a compromise. i said earlier, i think itll look soemthing like this

Pats fined $750K
Pats lose 2016 2nd or 3rd
Pats lose 2016 4th
Ted Wells never working for NFL again

Don't care about the site I care about the guy reporting on it, Jason Cole has reported some legit stuff in the past.

Jason Cole is a pretty good reporter and well connected in the League. He is one of the few legitimate reporters working for Bleacher Report.

I can only hope.

First rounder back today is a step in the right direction, brady punishment completely overturned and I'm good to go.

I too think the first rounder will be switched to something like a 3rd rounder.

Unaccpetable

Prepare for disappointment, man. I would have laughed my ass off if someone said we'd lose a 1st rounder over this before the ruling came out. There's no way the league doesn't levy some punishment against us.

How credible is your ass...?

Beaten to the punch! And with a better response to boot!

Well done, I humbly submit to your stellar wit. :)

It would be if Kraft really had any other recourse other than suing the league. He won't do that. Goodell will never admit the Wells report is crap or that he wasted all that time and money to say that all he got was a trumped up report. Goodell will only accept a compromise where he can still satisfy the rest of the owners that he went hard on the Pats and he doesn't have to admit the Wells report was a fraud.

Goodell is more about what looks best for him and the league than justice for the Patriots. He needs to end this saga, but he needs to look right. Much more than this proposed reduction makes him have to admit publicly that the Wells report is crap and he won't do that.

Then Kraft should not accept a compromise, and demand an appeal hearing in front of an independent arbiter.

If a compromise os made then both sides don't want this to go to the courts. As both sides cases have gaping holes. I am going to guess that the other owners have their hands all over this.

...... and Patriots ball boys in the future will not be allow to urinate on game day.

So pissed right now that we'll concede to just taking the head, instead of the whole shaft. Prepare for the worst fellas (and ladies).
