If true, Kraft needs to sell Patriots (link)

The idea that Kraft lucked into Belichick is about as stupid as it gets.

It's Belichick's show, and Kraft is just along for the ride. Victor Kiam would be a huge winner by now. We'd all be buying his razors.

Some of you guys are starting to sound like a guy named Wells. You are coming to a conclusion without any facts and then trying to cherry pick specific details and instances to back your conclusion.

Guy lucked into Belichick and Brady

No doubt the Patriots have had their fair share of good luck, but it's hard to dismiss that Kraft expended millions of dollars and gave up draft picks to consecutively hire Parcels, Carroll, and Belichick. The man knows how to pick coaches.

I know I shouldn't say terrible things I can't take back, but to diminish someone's accomplishments in sports because they "lucked" into a coach or player makes you sound like Felger. As we all know, Belichick isn't even a very good coach without Brady.

Has anybody made a Godfather joke yet?

Not to mention he funded the construction of Gillete Stadium out of his own pocket...and kept the franchise from re-locating to another region (thank goodness)

Trying to figure out what they were talking about is premature, I would suspect that Mr. Kraft/Goodell are seeking a resolution so all can save face.. we do not know the tone of the conversation.

He might be reluctant to just go the legal route.. does not want to be equated with Al Davis or Donald Sterling.. we should all wait and see what develops. Stay tuned...

Has anybody made a Godfather joke yet?

Just to shake things up, I'll make a joke about a reference to the Godfather in another show:

He can just rename the team the New England Cheaters, because thats what everyone will call them, and then he can run around with his letter saying the NFL admitted they put a wrong number in a letter and didn't fix it. Wow, I'm so glad he decided to get tough.
Andy, I agree completely. If Kraft does not back Brady, Kraft is forever branded a coward by all the Pats fans........UNLESS..... he lied to us and Brady did tell him he has been playing with the rules. If that is the case then Kraft is lying to the fans. I believe Brady. I might be naive but believe Kraft knows that Brady was truthful too. Brady told the two stooges, "I want the balls at 12.5 PSI, no excuses". So they were diligent in his nrequest ....BUT....It makes no sense McNally could have taken all the air out and rechecked the pressures. You have to be a complete moron to believe that.

No less than the letter of apology as Kraft asked is going to make this right. Then Brady sues the NFL back to oblivion and takes the cash he wins and stuffs it up the anal pore of people throwing him under the bus like Kelly, Brunnel, Bennett, Dansby, Maz, Felger, Mad Dog the numbskull, Wells, Well's Jet loving daughter, Kensil, Mortensen, Petine, Kravatz, Johnson's wife, the black racist sports reporter who still has a job while Donald Sterling was nailed, et al. just because he doesn't need it.

If I were Brady, honestly? I would retire and flip everyone off. It will show how stupid this all was in reality. He will make the Hall. What does he have to prove other than getting booed in every stadium he plays from here on from a trumped up charge. Then if people ask why he says: Kelly, Brunnel, Bennett, Dansby, Maz, Felger, Mad Dog the numbskull, Wells, Well's Jet loving daughter, Kensil, Mortensen, Petine, Kravatz, Johnson's wife, the black racist sports reporter......... oh yeah and all the jealous people involved in the sport including hater fans who have made this all possible, but he has the court documents that say otherwise. Ride off into the sunset TB with your head held high. Do you need this crap?

If Solomon's, err Reiss' compromise works out, you won't get that either.
You will get guilt, loss of picks Brady suspension 1 mill fine, and the league will issue a statement that it was bad of them to type the wrong number in a private memo.

Reiss's proposed "compromise" is stupid and exactly the opposite of what I want. His approach is entirely about the PR of public statements made by the team and league, and how to make them more conciliatory to the Patriots. That stuff is completely meaningless to me. I would rather they put Kraft in stocks and force a false confession that he personally deflated the balls and also kicked a few puppies on the way out of the locker room than they take away those draft picks for good. I'm angry about the way the NFL has maligned the Patriots, but I am far more concerned about how this affects our future success.

Brady is on record saying he wants them at 12.5
Dorito Dink is on record setting them at 12.5
The Deflator is on record watching Anderson gauge them at 12.5
Why would anyone want to take air out?

I want Brady to take this as personally insulting, dishonorable and disgusting and not stop until his name is fully cleared, and I hope along the way Kessler turns the courtcase into a referendum against Goodells position as Commisioner.

Eh, you've left the ranks of the sane here. Why would Brady respond to this by hurting himself? He wants to play football. He wouldn't be giving anyone but himself the finger if he retired.

More stupidity. Knock it off. You're better than this.

U give Kraft way way too much credit.

Give Al Davis or the Bengals Belichick and Brady, and I guarantee you they win Super Bowls.

Yeah, except when Al Davis makes Belichick draft a speedy WR 7th overall when he doesn't want to. Do we win three SB's in four years with David Terrell instead of Richard Seymour? You act like the owner should have more influence on the team's success on the field beyond choosing the men who run the operation. Like if Kraft was going to get any credit he should have pulled a Jerry Jones and stood on the sidelines meddling with the coaching staff.

Al Davis died with three Super Bowl rings on his fingers. Sure he was a loose cannon, but he was also a legendary owner. (Not as good as Kraft though.)

Kraft brought Belichick in...

I'm no Kraft fan but that's not luck. But they all lucked into Brady.

What point are you trying to make? That an owner who doesn't run the draft could easily win with Belichick and Brady? Yes, I agree.

The amount of hate for Kraft is unreal. I get why people are frustrated, but it could be a looooot worse. Just ask any Redskins/Cowboys/49ers/Browns fan.

Kiam died in 2001, and Davis couldn't have gotten along with BB because of the control issues. You're being a dumbass. Don't try turning this around on me.
