What compromise can you live with if the Pats are able to negotiate with the NFL?

Nowhere in there does it say "remain."

You're right. It just says the ball has to be 12.5 -13.5, at halftime it was below 12.5.

Like i said, the rule is stupid, but the rule in its current state WAS broken, thus My being okay with a $25k fine.

Okay. If what is most important to you is giving the league as big and F you as you can that is understandable.

My thoughts are all the fans think we are cheaters anyway and the only team that "really" cheats. The Pats reputation for the short term at least is shot no matter what we do. May as well try to make the best deal we can cause in the court of public opinion this is already a loss. Even if Roger comes out today and says "Pats are 100% innocent" the fans won't buy it.

If you are innocent you don't accept a guilty plea, period. I don't care what the haters think, I care about how the Patriots act. F.ck the haters, f.ck Goodell, f.ck the NFL. The league wants them to take it, I don't.

I can do without the apology. 25K fine for moving balls. And 50k for phone hoarding. (as per other poster, i.e. for not handing phone, precedent set by Favre). Never gonna happen tho'.

If kraft accepts anything more then a $25k fine this is how ill feel:

Where do you think this is all going aluminum? What good can come out of Kraft being conciliatory with the man that screwed his team over?
I don't know. I'm hopeful. It's just a feeling. I could very well be wrong.

Agree w/@AdamSchefter: Don't think #Patriots will recoup draft picks or fine. Tom Brady's suspension another issue

Would be complete ******** if true.. but I have a very hard time trusting any leaks at this point. We've seen this road show too many times.

The Brady suspension is the most slam dunk part of this entire thing... there is no way a federal court will make him serve a single game for this.. if adrian peterson didnt have to serve a single game suspension for beating his kid, Brady sure as hell won't

The 1st round pick has to come off the table... if it's still in play, Kraft must have been whispering to Goodell while they were hugging "please be gentle on my buttocks, and don't forget the courtesy reach around"

I won't believe any of this until it's been decided.

Fair enough..... Thursday is the deadline. We'll know for sure

I don't think Brady & the Pats penalties are linked. I think that Brady and the NFL PA will prevail and Brady's suspension will be vacated due total lack of evidence.
If Kraft can't get the picks back, then take it to the courts and hit Goodell with discovery including all internal communications that may be very embarrassing to Goodell.

They won't get both picks back, they just need to focus on getting the 1st rounder off the table..

Brady will take care of his suspension with Kessler

I don't want to spend the time looking this up as its been covered many times on this forum. Essentially, once the balls are approved by the officials, they are good, no matter what the pressure is, high or low. No rule is violated by playing with a ball that is outside of the limits mentioned as the setting of the game balls pressure is totally and solely the responsibilities of the officials and the teams have no involvement whatsoever. The teams submit balls and state preferences but ultimately the officials are the ones who have the responsibility. So unless there is evidence of the Pats tampering with the balls after they were set, no rules were broken by the Pats

Nothing is acceptable. Nothing. There is nothing in that report that suggests any wrong doing. It isn't the Patriots' job to teach Chem 11.

I saved you all of the time you are worried about spending looking it up by providing you with the rule and a link to the nfl rulebook section.

The rule says the ball has to be between 12.5-13.5. If its not within that range its a rule violation, as the current rules are written. plain and simple end of discussion. The refs have the discretion based on touch, however again, the rule is ****ing stupid, so the refs, with no actual ability to feel the balls correct psi level, measured the ball and determined that they were below 12.5 Which is in fact a rule violation, because once again.. the rule is ****ing stupid.

Same fine for the Colts then? Using the gauge they inexplicably decided to attribute to the Patriots all Colts balls measured below 12.5.

It would be somewhat funny if the league decided to give out fines to teams because the laws of physics don't bend to their rules. The cherry on to of this absurd drama.

No recoup of draft picks or fine is absolutely insane if true. So wtf are they "negotiating"?

Not to belabor the point, but you need to look up the game day procedures as to who is responsible for ball pressure. If a rule was broken, it was by the officials and not the Pats.

My guess based off the little that's been heard...the Tom Brady suspension. If not then I can only imagine the reaction.

The next Pats-gate. Goodell wants 5 years from now, Kraft wants 7.
