What compromise can you live with if the Pats are able to negotiate with the NFL?

Considering I was expecting like a $50k fine and nothing else for this nonsense, I can't believe what some of you are willing to accept. If they accept any negotiated terms, it will be seen as an admission of guilt! The classic, "if they didn't cheat then why did they accept the penalty?" Kraft better not settle in and do what's best for the league. He needs to stand up for his team, it's players, coaches and fans. Being on the good side of the commish has done nothing for the franchise.

The penalty for equipment manipulation is a $25,000 fine according to the NFL's own rules. Anything more is unacceptable.

I would say if the pats have zero penalties, and all the little minions who ran this thing amok are fired, There will be no lawsuits provided the league office sets out to provide definitive recourse for all problems when it comes to maintaining a standard for the league .... pretty much when it comes to anything

this 'make it up as you go along' method while I believe was originally meant with the best intentions simply does not work

gotta kill the interpretation of things

The rule states they need to remain at or above 12.5 which they were not at half time because the nfl has a rule that doesnt take into account weather, or temperature, or real life. Complain all you want, but if you go by the letter of the rule book a rule WAS broken, its a stupid rule that's going to change.
Yup and the colts had 25% of their measured balls under the threshold and no penalty for them. The penalty was for tampering with the balls; not having them under the allowed range.

Krafty Bob takes his 40 licks, even though nothing was proven, just to stay in the cool kids club...I bet Kraft agrees to take his fine and lost draft picks in exchange for Brady's lifted/reduced suspension...I'm telling you, if Kraft "accepts" anything less than full exoneration and the apology for which he asked - then either A.) the Pats/Brady DID do something wrong and we've been lied to or B.) Krafty's just being a member of the Billionaire Boys Club and his seat at the cool kids table is worth public humiliation...

I don't think Brady & the Pats penalties are linked. I think that Brady and the NFL PA will prevail and Brady's suspension will be vacated due total lack of evidence.
If Kraft can't get the picks back, then take it to the courts and hit Goodell with discovery including all internal communications that may be very embarrassing to Goodell.

one thing for certain, if Kraft takes any more then what i laid out above, I'm done defending the patriots. If kraft is okay with his teams legacy being that of cheaters, then I won't waste a single breath defending the patriot logo.

This whole deflategate is only a big deal only because the patriots are involved. Look at how the league handled the Jets who clearly tampered with Revis while he was still a member of the patriots.

Had it been the patriots that did that, the League would have taken two first round picks from us, and fined us. The whole media and fans would have gone crazy calling us cheaters.

I really hate the idea of compromise but I could be understanding of Kraft making a deal where he was only penalized for Patriots noncooperation. (which didn't happen either but in the spirit of compromise ...). So I could live with a small fine and maybe low draft pick loss without losing my mind. I'd still be mad but I wouldn't be spitting vile hatred at the league.

No matter what, Brady must be completely exonerated. I can't live with anything less there. If they give him a fine for failing to fully cooperate, I'd survive.

However if this goes to court I want to see scorched earth. I want the Colts attacked legally for their part in this as well as for tampering with a ball on the sideline. I want Kensil sued personally. I want Irsay sued. I want all leaks reveled by court order. I want Bob Kraft to be transformed into Vlad the Impaler scanning for victims for his death pikes. This is really what the opposition gains by compromise. The Krafts lay down arms and don't absolutely gut them and their first born children in a ****ing court of law.

I can't even really think of one. I would be willing to live with the removal of the suspension and 1st round pick while this goes to court because those bells cannot be unrung.

But that's only until the courts look at the case. I still want them to take it to court.

I'm sitting here feeling literally sick in my stomach just thinking of Kraft accepting any punishment from the league. If he actually does then I may get seriously ill.

Any punishment accepted is an admittance of guilt and we all know that this whole debacle has been a sham from the beginning. There is nothing to be guilty about. If we don't get back what was stolen from us out of capriciousness and downright jealousy then yes, I will be done with Bob Kraft and this league.

I may feel stupid for thinking and saying this, but as of right now, I believe Kraft will do well here.

I'm ok if we don't revoke the citizenship of the key people in NFL front office.

The most I would accept without pursuing legal action would be:

$25,000 equipment fine for the Pats because McNally took the balls without permission and stopped in the bathroom on the way to the field

$50,000 fine for Brady for not handing over his phone/text messages which is the precedent set in the Brett Favre text scandal

However, to accept this I would need from the NFL:

Admission that there is no evidence anyone from the Patriots organisation illegally tampered with the footballs after the referees checked them and ruling the lower PSI at half time was due to environmental factors

An apology from the NFL for the harmful leaks throughout the investigation, as well as not refuting incorrect leaks and not allowing the Patriots to refute that misinformation.

This is never going to happen though so I would be preparing my legal team.

my other issue is that the Wells report actually exonerates both Kraft and BB, so are we really talking about $1M plus the 2 draft picks for not making McNally available in person?

I'd say we can get back to that once a complete accounting of all NFL officials for the 2014 football season (specifically Kensil and Gardi).......if there was a sting operation that failed to provide definitive evidence, then people associated with that need to hang.......if for no other reason than being stupid

the next step is to understand why so many people in league positions of power are former Jets employees

I have an idea.......let's put Scott Zolak and Tedy Bruschi in charge of all those things.....how's that sound?

Yes we got heavily punished during spygate, but that wasn't what ruined our legacy, what utimately ruined our legacy across the league was being known as cheaters. That name is going to stick forever.

The same thing is going to happen, if Robert Kraft doesn't fight for his team.

For all those people saying Kraft should take nothing more than a low draft pick and no games lost for Brady... here is what I think happens if we try that.

The NFL says "no way we can't look that bad". Brady goes to court and wins and does not miss any games. The NFL stands by its punishment for the picks and the fine and now Goddell who will be commish for 3 more years at the least will have no issue doing whatever he can to punish the Patriots and make them look bad because they made him look foolish.

Someone explain to me why that won't happen if the Pats try to demand too much back? It is unfair yes but sometimes you must take a step back and make the decision in your best self interest than an emotional one that leads to worse consequences down the line and now.

I may feel stupid for thinking and saying this, but as of right now, I believe Kraft will do well here.

So basically Goodell was angry that Kraft demanded an apology ....so then Kraft decided he would apologize instead and allow his team to be steamrolled by the public and league? Yup, it's all cool now

I was thinking that Jerry Thornton and I would be the best choices.

My dad was a Senator so I'm overqualified.
