So, this morning on EEI, he says that the league will be measuring the balls methodically with new procedures. As a result, they may find out what happens to balls that are at 12.5psi at game start and whether physics will change that in different atmospheric conditions.

I love that he denies hundreds of years of science.

Well, let them do this and re-discover basic physics. What happens then? Will Goodell offer Kraft the opportunity that if the physics prove that out that the picks and fines will be vacated? An apology issued? Will Kraft accept that for the good of the league?

There'll be a halftime contest.

"Guess the psi of the pigskin"

Get it exactly right and get an opportunity to kick the commish's balls.

Did he say when the measurements will take place? Will they re-measure at halftime? Does anyone really, truly give a **** about air pressure in a football? The only reason this blew up is because it's New England. Case in point: Minnesota vs. Carolina, 2014

I'm a skeptic when it comes to this. Based on how the NFL has handled this whole sham, it wouldn't surprise me if they rigged the results of the tests just to make it seem like they and Wells were right all along,

The solution is simple. The balls are brought to the field an hour before the game.......and then right before the game, the air pressure gets adjusted to team specifications......and the balls remain on the field during halftime. Climate issues resolved. NFL Ball control is maintained. Not that difficult

This could be part of the 'deal', the punishment is suspended while the NFL rediscovers the Ideal Gas Law?

Okay let me get this straight, the NFL just suspended the BEST PLAYER OF THIS GENERATION FOR 1/4 OF THE UPCOMING SEASON AND FINED THE WINNING FRANCHISE FOR THE LAST 15 YRS $1,000,000 A FIRST ROUND PICK AND A FOURTH ROUND PICK FOR HAVING IMPROPER AIR PRESSURE IN FOOTBALLS.

NOW THEY ARE GOING TO TEST FOOTBALLS DURING GAME PLAY SO THEY CAN DETERMINE WHAT MAY REALLY IS GOING ON WITH THE FOOTBALLS AIR PRESSURE DURING GAME PLAY????????

Seriously, I did not believe the NFL could possibly display any greater incompetence then what they have already displayed in this utter cluster f k. But just call me stupid because this is now the most asinine thing I think I have ever witnessed all of my years.
This is like the US government trying someone for a crime punishable by the death penalty and then executing said person while at the same time commissioning a study to see what actually happen during the crime for which the government just executed the that person . DO YOU UNDERSTAND THIS, i don't, could someone please explain it to me???????

I think my point is they have convicted the Pats and TB12 punished them with Draconian measures and now desires to study the very evidence that they convicted them of thus admitting they have no idea what the hell is going on with the evidence they just relied on to convict them with. PLEASE, PLEASE STOP THIS PAIN IN MY BRAIN!!!!!! ARHHHHHH

Too easy. Have to make things more convoluted.

they could monitor the pressure in every ball.....constantly.....putting a TPMS module in each ball would be a no brainer

Schefter stated that "the league will likely change the way balls are handled pregame this coming year and could find balls that start at 12.5 psi could go down to levels of 11.7 psi like the Patriots’ footballs did." So he and the league still don't understand simple science. Smh

I'm looking forward to the next 30 F outdoor game. The league might believe aliens are behind the 2 psi drop.

Schefter also mentioned "the league has paid Ted Wells over $45 million for this investigation as well as the bullying situation in Miami." Independent my ass.

For whoever gets stuck with this monotonous task (every game, every week, all season), any gripes should be directed at the Indianapolis Colts.

A lot of teams are going to be losing picks come November and December. League will come to realize nearly every team is tampering with the balls and they can't stop them no matter what they do.

Wasn't the Miami one just 5 million or was that number misrepresented. Ted Wells should do better work for that amount of money.

That would be a perfect scenario, IMO.

NFL agrees to hold off on the punishment for a full season while they closely monitor ball PSI levels before/during/halftime/after every game played in 2015. Then all this info is made public each month (and hopefully not skewed to NFL's favor) so people can see natural deflation occur in certain weather conditions.

Hopefully there's a handful of games played in the rain or cold this year, as this would help our case even more.

Breaking News: Tom Brady and Bill Belichick have been banned from the NFL for life for somehow deflating every teams balls at some point during 2015. Because Brady was in Foxboro while balls were deflating in Washington, Brady has also been locked in a lead lined room to save us all from his murderous, psychic, ball deflating powers.

Nothing on the chain of custody and how they are controlled on the sidelines.. taking pressure is one step of several that are necessary.

Scientists have done studies. There are YouTube videos showing the PSI drops in colder weather.

Millions upon millions was spent during the investigation and the scientific data, in their own Wells report, showed no evidence of tampering and the balls PSI were within or close to the range they should be.

And THEY STILL NEED TO DO THIS?

None of them are really necessary because there isn't a problem.
