On one of the preseason games the were discussing how blocked XPs, or fumble recoveries and interceptions on extra points can be returned for 2 points by the defense.I can envision a scenario here a team takes a knee rather than attempt an extra point that could cost them the game.
Down 28-23 a team scores a last second touchdown to go up 29-28 and all that's left is an extra point with no time left. In the past, it wouldn't matter but now a blocked kick that gets returned costs the team the game. Why not just take a knee?Look at the Pats-Saints game in 2013. The Pats scored with 5 seconds left to go ahead 29-27. Had there been no time left when they scored, under the new rules a blocked return could have tied the game.....
