Spikes is back #POWWW

A run stuffing MLB for a 4-3 where both DTs are pass rushers.

Spikes gives us 4 guys who can play inside when we're in our 4-2-5. That's a lot of depth. Since, that was our defense something like 70pct of the time last year. Would like to Will's to make the 53 and help on ST. Maybe bring Fletcher back for one spot and have One Eyed Wells as the second spot.

I'm on the fence with this signing. He already knows the system so that's good. I still remember him taking on Marshawn lynch one one one for like a 3 yard loss. Lynch didn't move an inch forward when he collided with Spikes. It was great! However, after that offenses would just bait Spikes up field thru the wrong gap and easily take him out of the play. So I will remain on the fence and see how it all works out.

To be fair, Spikes was exposed when he didn't have a great secondary behind him. No reason to worry about that this year. :)

I think we'll see a defense we've never seen before. We have penetration DTs, lots of rushers and linebackers who can also rush and lots of safeties.

Don't know what you want to call it, but i can see some QBs throwing pop flies as they're being hit from unknownangles and the DBs just playing catch.

All out rush with a middle linebacker who can hold the line if necessary.

Malcolm Brown, D Easley, Chandler Jones, Alan Branch, Sealver Siliga, Donte Hightower, Jamie Collins, Jerod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, Rob Ninkovich, Trey Flowers, Geneo Grissom, Patrick Chung ...

No one is running on the Patriots
Why run on them when you can throw all day? Who is going to cover the WRs? I will fire my OC if he played Pats and decided to run against them.

Every possible Belichick plan for the secondary could go completely awry and they'd still trot out a group comparable to the Giants' 2007 back 4.

Our short-yardage defense wasn't very good last year. He will help it. Situational football.

Next year when Seattle goes beast mode....spikes knocks him the F out!!

Game over, we win again!!

I'm not sure if you're ridiculously overhyping this current group or being grossly unfair to the 2007 Giants defensive secondary, but it's one or the other.

Oh, how I like this 4-3 front 7:

At Linebacker:
Collins
Mayo
Hightower
Spikes

At DE:
Jones
Ninkovich
Sheard
Flowers
Grissom

At DT:
Brown
Easley
Branch
Siliga

Little OT but does anyone think we may shift Grissom to OLB?

Dude, I said the same thing and you disliked it. :)

Great News! Ignore ALL media hype until the season starts. G can handle the load while TB is out if that's what New York wants. Go Pats!

Dude! Is that Shogun in your avatar?

With wilfork gone, I think bill sees an opening for a (mostly) 2 down player. Let's be honest, Vince rushed the qb about as well as spikes covers the field.

Also good motivation that spikes knows he's 4th on the depth chart at his position going into TC.

That's 13 of our 15 defensive front seven. That's pretty awesome. We will have at least one LB/Ster.

I liked Spikes when he brings the emotion. He's not a 3 down guy but he still has value IMO.

Add Wells../Fletcher maybe?

Zach Moore? Be a shame to cut him so quickly. He was a project when he got here, but he seems to have a lot of the tools.
