Good signing. I hope he makes the team.

I like it, we needed depth at that position and Spikes will definitely help against the run.

Front Seven: Absolutely Loaded.

That is significant in that if you give a QB lest time to throw their QBR drops while fumbles, incomplete passes, and interceptions increase. More importantly your CB's have to cover receivers for less time which could turn a mediocre secondary into a good one. Only a few QB's have a good QBR when given only 2 seconds to throw and you could name them from the top of your head. Brady, Manning, Rogers etc.... and that is because of quick decision making process and not deflated footballs.

Damn I knew I couldn't get away from the Deflate gate subject for too long.

Malcolm Brown, D Easley, Chandler Jones, Alan Branch, Sealver Siliga, Donte Hightower, Jamie Collins, Jerod Mayo, Brandon Spikes, Rob Ninkovich, Trey Flowers, Geneo Grissom, Patrick Chung ...

No one is running on the Patriots
That's cause they will be trying to pass on every down!

First piece of good news I've received in a while, for the Patriots.

More than fine with me that he's just a two-down player. He more than makes up for that with his nastiness and enthusiasm for hard-hitting.

Teams, and especially RBs thinking to go up the middle with Wilfork being gone, will now reconsider that strategy.

LOL can't believe he is back after those comments he made when left. New England wasn't so bad after all it seems.

Front seven seems formiddable.
He was just playing to the new home crowd with his tweets and bravado. I'm glad he's back, and you're right; the front 7 is a going to be formidable.

Young kids say stupid things, fortunately wise men can differentiate between immature verbiage and talent....

Sure he will hear about it from BB somewhere along the line...

Another good thing is that this signing happened after 5/12 so he doesn't count against the comp picks given out.

This is another well-timed, carefully gambled move: that Spikes would still be available at this point in time, and not count against us when comp picks are awarded.

Love it. Dude hits about as hard as anyone in the NFL. His run stuffing will help ease the loss of Vince and he adds great depth to the LB Corp. Might be too many starters and not enough STers out of the LB corp. Anyone remember if Spikes plays STs?

I have a theory. The Pats are emulating the Giants NASCAR pass rush with all the potential rushers signed. But the middle can get run on unless you have a single deterrent. You have Nink, Jones, Moore, Easley, Brown, Flowers and Grissom. How can you block four or five of these guys? Run?....Spikes is waiting. Just a theory.

Awesome! Wish he never left! Now that we have Collins to cover, Spikes can be more of a natural 2 down player for us. Excellent add.

More proof BB doesn't hold grudges. I think BB would take back Wes even if he wanted him.

We all know BB is about winning.

It really is a shame Spikes is so slow. If he had Mayo speed and a little maturity I think he's a hall of famer. Guy has terrific instincts and is as hard of a hitter as they come.

That's how spikes was used 2 years ago before his infamous IR. Remember we were light on the line with Vince and Kelly having gone down not necessarily a NASCAR line but light none the less and Spikes did a lot of run orientated MLB blitzes.

I guess we will just beat teams up in 2015-16.

Yes the physical presence we need! And he talks trash too! Pm

Go ahead AFC..... PLEASE try and run on our little 'Ol front 7!!!

Second best middle linebacker in free agency. Good insurance if mayo cannot play.

I'm on the fence with this signing. He already knows the system so that's good. I still remember him taking on Marshawn lynch one one one for like a 3 yard loss. Lynch didn't move an inch forward when he collided with Spikes. It was great! However, after that offenses would just bait Spikes up field thru the wrong gap and easily take him out of the play. So I will remain on the fence and see how it all works out.

Spikes must have really been contrite and apologized to Bill if he was welcome back... His intensity and energy on D will be great to have.
Don't buy into that. A player can pretty much say anything, it's how they perform on the field that counts. Its the fans who get pissed or go on rants through the war of words.
