Should Kraft open the topic of Deposing Goodell at the Owner's Meeting?

  • Yes, Roger Goodell -- YOU'RE FIRED!!

  • No, he needs to play it close to the vest and look impartial in front of the owners.

  • I'd like it to happen, but I think Goodell will remain in power regardless.

So the breaking news is that Deflategate will top the Agenda at this May's NFL owners' meetings.

http://www.latimes.com/sports/nfl/la-sp-la-nfl-meetings-20150517-story.html

Here is Bob Kraft's golden chance to test the waters and see if he has an opening to oust Goodell. Do you think this is on Kraft's to do list, or what will his plan be when speaking to the other 31 owners in San Francisco?

Personally, I hope he has prepared a devastating and scathing appraisal of Goodell's performance as a Commissioner in recent NFL scandals, puts out his vote of No-Confidence, and explains the benefits of moving on to another Better Qualified candidate for the Commissioner's seat. Does that scenario appeal to you?

I don't care about the meetings. I just want Kraft to appeal the penalties and gain back our draft picks. I want him to sue the NFL and expose this sham of an investigation for what it is, and the misinformation and conspiracy behind it. And I want Kraft to bring down the monster he helped to create - Roger Goodell!

whew, just needed to rant ;)

i agree there is zero chance now but after a few more losses in court and when he inevitably screws up, the time will be riper. In addition, if he doesn't sue, I hope Kraft does everything in his power to sabotage Goodell.

I would love to be a fly on the wall for those meetings. Awkward doesn't even begin to cover it.

There's no chance of succeeding if Kraft makes a move now. Let Goodell embarrass himself in federal court and wait for a judge to overturn the punishments.

Once the court rulings are handed down, Kraft should hold a press conference and declare that "he has no confidence in Roger Goodell as commisioner", and call on him to resign.

I wish Kraft stays home and doesn't even go to these meetings, boycott them, his pals (other owners) aren't doing him any favors, they are cherishing Deflate gate. **** the NFL and **** this meeting. Staying home would make a statement.

Considering there are at least 25 owners who are happy with Goodell right now I'd say there is about 0% chance he is outed.

As much as we'd love some instant gratification, Kraft needs to take the high road, quietly pull his allies together and craft a careful strategy to take care of his team first, support Brady second if need be, and then go black mamba on Goodell when the time is right! Buh bye Roger!
...in my opinion his plan, if executed correctly, will be elegant enough to draw attention away from himself somehow... and perhaps induce us to wonder if he had anything to do with it at all!!

What's stopping the owners from standing by RK and demanding the issue cease and desist?

Their own self-interest will always come first. They're very happy right now. Lots of bitter losers there.

Once a pro-Brady federal court ruling gets handed down, Goodell's position will be a lot less secure.

zero chance that kraft is going to get other owners to get rid of goodell
Now is definitely not the time but it's coming. The tide of media/public perception regarding Deflategate is slowly turning. Don't think Goodell can survive a legal loss in this case. I do think he will step aside and name an independent arbitrator to oversee this. It's gone way overboard already and I think Goodell knows this in his heart of hearts. Unfortunately for Goodell he does not have his most trusted adviser in these times of crises....Robert Kraft. Should have thought of that as you were holding Robert's head under the water there, Rog.
Will be fascinating to see if there is any interaction between Kraft and Goodell at the owners meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Because the rest of the owners are orgasmic over Goodell's ruling. Why do people continue to pretend that Kraft is powerful? Sorry, but he's been de-nutted...

Ya I'm sure the other owners are orgasmic about Kraft having cause to go to court.

What makes you say that? I've only heard about two owners, Boys and Skins, and possibly the Browns, not supportive of Robert Kraft. The owners, while not getting the big wins, benefit financially from Robert Kraft's success too, in the form of NFL related gear/clothing. Why not support him? Never know when you might need him.
