Here are some Place holder banner ideas if there is no Brady at the opener:

1) A Black banner with the words, "It is more probable than not that Roger Goodell is a Doritos Dink."
2) If for legal reasons the team can not do that, a black banner with just the words Roger Gooodell and John Rooke announcing "The team asks you to NOT deface it in any way. No really!" To advertise you can place a copy of this place holder in on the outside of the building, like the Ravens banner outside of Mile High a few years ago.
3) A picture of Roger Goodell then a picture of a chicken with the caption, "It is more probable than not Roger Goodell does not have sex with chickens."
4) Same as above but with David Wells' name.

I would tell the league there will be no festivities. I would also tell Goodell he's not welcome in the owners box but offer him a seat in the stands.

fast forward 4 months...

Per Schefter:

"The Patriots have stated that they are unable to guarantee Goodell's safety at the Steelers-Patriots game on Sept 10. They have told Goodell not to attend."

Make the banner a picture of one or both of these.

I don't live in the area and I know the patriots have very passionate fans but is it really possible that if brady suspended that most would skip all the pregame celebrations the NFL likes to throw? Make those look bare! Just show up at game time to support team.

Make the banner out of the same picture pposters and the Pats have been using... The back of Brady's jersey and hand right next to the three other banners.

Raise a Big Ben wanted poster.

Someone (Scott Zolak?) tweeted that he had heard from his sources that if Brady isn't there Week 1, the Patriots will treat that game with about all the pomp of Week 17 last year. He said they, not the league, decide when the banner gets raised.

As I've said, my idea . . . make it Tom Brady T-shirt night. Give everyone there a shirt with a 12 on it.

Replace the bunting on the sidelines that says "New England Patriots" with one that just has 12s over and over and over.

Put giant 12s next to the Jumbotron, and near/on the lighthouse, etc., etc., etc.

Basically make it so that if the camera is almost always looking at a whole bunch of 12s.

I'd love to have this hanging at Gillette....

3 SB banners in the middle. #12 banner on one side of them, Jolly Roger on the other.
Fly a banner above the stadium that says "GFY tour 2015-2016"

No idea who suggested it,a giant hand giving the bird sign with
all four rings on the middle finger.
