SOURCES: Robert Kraft is 'strongly considering' suing the NFL

I don't think people are really grasping how ugly this will get. There are no winners here.
Probably true. But the league has become so corrupt I would rather see it brought to its knees vs. the status quo being tolerated. It needs to get back to being more of a real game like it was a short 20 years ago.

There is one clear winner. Roger Goodell's ego.

Yep.

jests- Openly tamper with a their rivals player during a press conference- $100k fine

Pats- suspected but no hard evidence of letting some air out of footballs which science proved they didn't do- 4 game suspension for the QB, 1st and 4th round pick and $1m fine..

I think he has to try to effect changes. My gut tells me that even if this blew over that Pats would have a huge target on their back going forward. Everything will be ultra scrutinized and made into a big deal and then blown out of proportion by the media. So if BK dosent get some changes made Deflate Gate happens again only next time it will be some other nonsensical claim by some random player or coach or whatever.

But this is a tough situation because he can win/lose with any scenario that plays out.

2 main goals:

1. Get completely cleared of this (if possible)
2. Insure stupidity like this can not happen again.

Number 2 includes purging all of the slime out of the NFL office.

Yea and the next time will be 2 first rounders.. they'll continue to become more severe until the Patriots are a .500 team

I hear you. I was just noting an issue. Kraft has a difficult decision to make. He can continue to be a doormat, and watch the league continue to **** on his team, in the hopes that it'll keep the peace. In the alternative, he can run the league through the ringer at both financial and reputational cost.
There's always more options. Perhaps he can push the NFL far enough to have their monopoly broken. then we could end up having a situation like baseball and who benefit more? Kraft? Jerry Jones, Snyder?

Many more stand to lose if it goes that way (whicvh I admit is highly unlikely, but could make a few owners very wealthy and perennial contenders)

While I always maintained Kraft never had any influence over the Fuhrer and the Jets Gestapo in the league office, he has significant influence over the financial prosperity of his partners. A few well placed words from his position as head of the TV committee concerning the possibility of a strike when the CBA is up would have a chilling effect. Even a statement to the effect that he would no longer be making any concessions to the small market teams and would encourage other big market teams to do the same would cause real problems. Finally, do any of the owners really want the imbecile Goodell to be negotiating with anybody.

The whole problem is that yes, they probably do. Goodell has done an incredible job of getting the union to just roll over on CBA negotiations. That translates to dollars in owners' pockets. Unfortunately his competence in screwing over the players clearly doesn't translate to competence in administering organizational justice.

Kraft does not want to turn into the new Al Davis. There is next to no chance he goes through with this.

We'll know by next Thursday if he does...

I seriously regret making fun of Al over the last several years of his life because he had the balls to stick up for his team no matter the difficulties and consequences. Guy really deserved one last Super Bowl before he died.

Robert Kraft better grab the situation by the balls:

Roger Goodell must have his brains in his "****" if he thinks the New England Patriots are gonna just walk away from this. The New England Patriots are gonna stay 'till this gets done.

When I first heard this rumor, and how angry Kraft was, I was thrilled! But I've already resigned myself to the fact that however badly I want to see Kraft stand up to Goodell and take him to court, that will probably never happen. My prediction? There will be no direct action taken against the Wells Report or the NFL. And it's hard to say whether he'll even bother appealing the penalties on Thursday.

I admire Robert Kraft and all he's done, but he's never been a reliable fighter. Which is too bad, because this could have been one of his defining moments...

anyways...off to see the girlfriend

Stay #BradyStrong

Asked whether he might violate NFL bylaws by going to court to try to get the league penalties overturned, Kraft said, “I’m not going to comment on that at this point in time. I’m going to leave it. I won’t say.”
