It's funny but I don't recall the Wells report citing McNally's SEVEN HOUR side of the story.
But then again we never read about Brady's FIVE AND ONE HALF HOUR side of the story did we.
And as we found out yesterday, Wells team had the text messages from McNally and JJ at the time McNally was interviewed . Wow does this report smell worse and worse every single day.
SEVEN hours?? I also would have told Wells to go pound it when he came back for round 2.
This is about psi in a football..... Unreal!!!!

7 hours yet hadn't gone through all of his texts.

Oh and btw we're supposed to believe Tom Brady is fanatical, absolutely anal about the condition of the footballs he uses.......and at the same time we're supposed to believe Jim McNally took a bulky, heavy bag of footballs into a bathroom and deflated them to Tom Brady's liking and did all this in 1 minute and 40 seconds.
ANYONE who believes McNally deflated those balls in that bathroom is an absolute fool.

Seven hours of this:

Wells: "You did it, didn't you?"

McNally: "No. I had no involvement in deflating balls."

Wells: "Admit it."

McNally: "I can't admit to something I didn't do."

Wells: "I don't believe you."

McNally: "Whether you believe me or not, I had nothing to do with any deflating balls."

Wells: "Just admit it so we can go home."

McNally: "I am innocent."

Wells: "I don't believe you."

McNally: "Doesn't matter. I am innocent."

Wells: "We all know you did it. Come on, admit it and we will be done."

McNally: "But I cannot admit to something I didn't do."

Wells: "I don't believe you. Just admit it now so we can go home."

And so on....

Something that doesnt get enough mentioned enough is the fact that McNally was interviewed 4 times. Once by Wells and three other times by NFL officials.

“By the time Mr. Wells was retained by the League, the League had all of Mr. Jastremski’s texts, Mr. McNally had already been interviewed three times, and Mr. Jastremski had been interviewed twice,” Patriots attorney Daniel L. Goldberg wrote. “The first of Mr. McNally’s interviews happened the evening of the AFC Championship, when Mr. McNally volunteered to stay at the stadium for an interview since he would not be back for his game-day responsibilities until August. Patriots management had not yet been advised that an investigation had started, but Mr. McNally, having nothing to hide, talked freely to the League personnel without even asking if someone from the team should be there with him. “The second and third interviews happened within the next several days. Again, Mr. McNally gave these interviews without any Patriots representative with him. His phone was offered to League personnel for imaging, but they advised that they did not need his phone. (His phone data was later provided to the Wells investigators upon their request and prior to their interview with him.) At his third interview with League Security personnel, he was subjected to very aggressive questioning and demeaning assertions that he was lying when he denied any knowledge of improper football deflation. This approach to the issues by League personnel was consistent with their prejudgments of wrongdoing by the Patriots. Notwithstanding that he had already been interviewed three times, when Mr. Wells asked to interview him again, the Patriots agreed to facilitate that fourth interview.

The Patriots have stated that it was clear that Wells had an agenda in his interviews and felt like McNally was being railroaded. This is something very similar to what Jim Turner of the Miami Dolphins coaching staff had to say about Ted Wells.

Jim Turner said:
When I look at the [DeflateGate] report and the one that I was a part of down in Miami, one thing that stands out to me is how smart Tom Brady is. He didn’t trust the Wells Report, he didn’t trust Wells. If he did, he would have complied a little more

Jim Turner said:
Wells is not a good human being, and when I didn’t give him the story he wanted he targeted me as part of a problem in Miami. He is not an independent investigator. He’s not looking at both sides of the situation. He’s hired by the NFL, and he’s going to print the story that they want printed.

Jim Turner said:
I was shocked when I saw what [Wells] made from the report in Miami. He made $4 million. So let’s just call a spade a spade, OK? If you bring your car to the mechanic and there’s nothing wrong with it and you ask him to find some problems, guess what? When he brings it back to you there’s going to be some problems. All of a sudden Wells is the enforcer of integrity — he’s a lawyer. His profession is based on money and winning. It’s not based on the truth.

Quoted from the article linked below --> Turner went into length about how Wells chose to highlight certain information and ignore others (sound familiar?) during his witness interview, including testimony that showed Martin was suicidal.

Jim Turner said:
They left that out of the report. I told Wells all of this stuff. [Martin] talked about being suicidal from his early teens and the history of mental health in his family, and it was just clear to me when I read the report that Richie Incognito was railroaded, and I was railroaded along with him.

Jim Turner said:
Tom Brady, Bill Belichick — I wouldn’t say a word to Ted Wells. Independent investigator my [butt].

Jim Turner said:
The fact that Tom Brady is in this position is an absolute embarrassment

Did he release the recording transcripts yet?

The strangest thing about this who mess is those 100 seconds they use to prove the balls were tampered with. But all the evidence and texts are not from anywhere near that.
We are penalized not for the Colts game, but for every game we have played that they think we have been cheating at! They even think we deflate the balls at away games, like the Colts game.
Now I can see they are all Jet fans, so they have an inferiority complex a mile wide, But they even used Spygate to increase our fine because it shows a pattern of behavior.
So basically the Pats are accused of cheating forever, due to a single conversation and a piss.
Does any of this seem rational?

Its also didn't say that McNally volunteered to stay after the AFC championship game and voluntarily gave up his texts, was interviewed two more times then Wells interviewed him for 7 hours. He also conveniently left out that he had the texts before the first interview and had an agreement that everyone would be interviewed once unless some special circumstances arose. What a crock of ****e the Wells report is. The more I read and learn about this case the more pissed off I get and am convinced its the NY centric head office arseholes that set this whole thing up.

Does the CBA have a policy against waterboarding? Because it seems that may have been Wells' next step.

No, the next step was leaking McNally's name, home address, and guilt to the media so that they staked out his house.

Leaked to the espn employed wife of a former NFL stooge

Without a pump or a gauge.

Think about that, right?

It is so easy to mess up and let out a ton of air - THEN WHAT?

Wells was doing an awful impression of Columbo "Just one more question" when the Pats lawyers slammed the door his face. No new developments no questions bozo!

7 hours should have been more than enough let alone being asked for a FIFTH interview. ****, Teddy.

Technically it's about 0.4 PSI in a football.
I remember the Globe website had a video of a reporter running around asking if people could tell the difference of feel with 2 footballs about 2psi in difference I believe. Some people could some couldn't tell a difference but could you imagine them doing the test now with footballs varying by .4psi, lol, what a joke.

Assuming the opposite is just as foolish. Either point of view is based on pure speculation

Well when you think about it 50-yard-line, McNally didn't need a pump or a gauge to spend 1 minute and 40 seconds blindly deflating balls in a bathroom minutes before the AFC Championship game for Tom fanatical about his footballs Brady.
Naaaaah, McNally just pulled each ball out of the bag and counted "One Mississippi.......Two Mississippi........" with the sound of hissing psi vanishing into thin air...........

It SHOCKS me that smart peeps in the media have never questioned the validity of the 'he did it in the bathroom' scenario.
McNally is in that bathroom for 5 minutes....you've got my attention.
McNally is in that bathroom for 10 minutes.... the Patriots are in deep trouble.

McNally was in that bathroom for *1 minute and 40 seconds*.

Have never bought this scenario. Next to the science this is the weakest part of this story and yet
no one in the media questions it.

Amazing!!!

So, the standard of review is the civil, "more probable than not" standard, yet you can interrogate the deponent as long as and as many times as you want? In a real civil matter, any attorney would have raised the same, valid concerns as Patriot's counsel, regardless of how good or bad your witness is. You cant just come back and demand another deposition because you have more questions based on evidence you've had all along. You can't inconvenience and harass a witness like this. Dont know much about labor law, but the fact that this can be deemed as "not cooperating" - especially in the setting of a civil standard of review, is mind blowing.
