OP Thread: Troy Vincent uses Joe Namath on twitter to possibly troll TB12 (NFL still being classy!)

Someone with the combination of Photoshop skills and a Twitter account needs to swap out the two sets of words and then tweet the 'revised' picture to Troy and the world.

Image good enough? If so, I'm glad to be able to contribute materially to the cause on the non-Twitter side.

This tells me Troy Vincent is the consumate professional.

Not just gamblers...you had made members from the Colombo and Lucchese Crime Families running bookmaking and loan shark rackets out of his bar.

The fact that Namath was buying these wise guys free drinks, food, etc was as bad as appearances can get.

Pete Rozelle had no choice to threaten Joe with banishment.
I was in college at the time and my roommate was from NJ. When the stuff with Bachelors III was happening, I went home with him for a weekend and we went there to drink. Wall-to-wall celebrities, primo hot women, the whole 9 yards. I never heard anything about the particular mob details you mention, but that doesn't mean it wasn't true. Funny thing is and hard for people to imagine these days, but Namath and the Jets were popular with Pats and other AFL fans in those days because their win in SB III over the Colts gave the AFL legitimacy with the NFL and its fans.

And they call the Pats arrogant! Crap like this makes me want the Pats to fight this to the very end. The NFL created this mess, and they have the nerve to rub our faces in it. We have the best team in the league, the greatest QB ever, the greatest coach ever and a very powerful/influential owner. I think its time we find our who is on who's side.

It is almost like they aren't even hiding their bias anymore.

The league cannot have people like this in charge with the ability to give free hand to their biases and hatred of the Pats.

This is what the league office would look like with ex-Rats in charge, because they are.

I can't even say negative things about Namath.

We'll get an announcement that his twitter account was hacked in 3.....2......1......

I think you guys are being overly critical of Mr Troy Vincent.

Can you really question the wisdom of a man who works hand in hand with Tony Dung-y to create such deep and meaningful turn of phrase as this:

"Yesterday didn't go as planned. No worries! Today is a new day!" - Troy Vincent

Can't wait to see what other buddha-esque pearls he has....

Reminder once again that Troy Vincent was once the frontrunner to take over as executive director of the NFLPA until he came under federal investigation not once but twice in his capacity as NFLPA president, once for illegally disclosing details about players' contracts with their agents to his consulting firm for personal gain, and again for secretly meeting with Goodell allegedly to collude against the players by trading a softer collective bargaining stance toward the owners in return for assistance in advancing his own career in the NFLPA. He does not deny either the illegally disclosed contracts (which he claims were an accident) or the secret meeting with Goodell (which he and Goodell claim was totally above board and nothing untoward happened, and I'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with his immediate hiring by Goodell into a cushy NFL position and rapid advancement in the ranks of NFL executives right after he was voted out of his union position for these controversies).

Yea Carmine Persico and some other goombahs hung out there.

Good article on the Mafia NFL connections.

Rumor was the Alex Karras - who gambled was also connected to the Outfit & Detroit mob but I don't have an article to back that up.

Deus just posted this in another thread. I am shocked SHOCKED that anyone in league offices would have any underlying NY Jets biases. Maybe they'll change all their social media logos to the Jets. ...

I'd reply in great detailed agreement but my 9 year old son't birthday party is tomorrow and I need to finish up my "Roger Goodell Piñata (trademark pending)"
