Wow!!! How can the Nfl be this stupid? If the Pats and Brady were guilty of anything they wouldn't be fighting it.

They never denied spygate.

Goodell will just appoint another arbitrator now. Him hearing the appeal was a strategic leak not an official announcement. This is what NFL does.

Personally I dont think it was a sting by NFL . The colts notified the league which didnt take it seriously but the colts along with kensil also did their own sting . Once it all came out, the NFL tried covering up first by blandino saying they were unaware and then wells stating there was a letter to the league the day before and wells again in his presser messing up saying it was ignored.

It really doesn't matter goodell and vincent are Now going to have to defend themselves to prove it wasn't, and that could really lead to some serious trouble for them. THEY will have to allow their phones to be scrutinized. But i see it as a way to force goodell to appoint an outside arbitrator. Like someone posted yesterday, by having vincent impose the sentence goodell could appoint himself as the arbitrator, but now it sounds like he won't be able to, hes been headed off at the pass.

At this juncture, I will no longer call this "Deflategate".

It is now "Waterloo".

If I'm understanding this correctly.. the CBA forces Goodell to hand out all punishments, but also makes him the default arbitrator? How is this possible?

I am sure they aren't all standing by and watching. Some may be looking for an excuse to get rid of Goodell and they are letting him hang himself. As for the others? There really isn't much more they can do. If this is the horse they are backing then they just have to hope that Goodell can win the legal battle.
