Freeman: Goodell will Hear Brady's Appeal

I guess people in espn, nfl network is saying "if theres nothing to hide goodell must hire an independent judge for the appeal" right?
Or you are afraid or hiding something only if you are part of the patriots.
It's strange. A couple nights ago (the night before the Patriots released the Wells Report in Context) it looked like the NFL network was backtracking a bit and supporting the Pats somewhat. I think they doubled down on their efforts to slander the Patriots after they went rogue and released their own report.

In my opinion, no one should be looking at any of this with the hope that either media opinion or public opinion will be changed regardless of the final outcome. Everyone's minds are made up forever. Verdict: guilty, no matter what happens going forward.
That's why it's important to win and have everything reversed. THEN YOU GO AFTER THEM FOR DEFAMATION. TBs brand and right to earn have been destroyed forever. TB will be retiring in a few years. They've tarnished his image, BIG TIME. From leaks from the NFL and punishing TB with innuendo and assumption, without facts. Brady has been the ideal face of the NFL. And having all of his fellow players, that are all overflowing with "INTEGRITY" pointing their hypocritical, jealous fingers at him. If I were Brady I would settle for nothing less than total exoneration and monetary reimbueursment.

Either way the pats are screwed. It is just beyond comical that that the guy who hired wells, read the report then made a historical penalty against Brady and the team gets to hear the appeal. This is whole ordeal looks like it was ripped from the WWE.
And is already on record that he approves of the punishment. Doesn't sound independent to me.

The Brady camp has no choice in the matter. Goodell has the unilateral right to name the arbitrator.
Based on Goodell's choice of himself, TB12 can decide to bypass the arbitration process altogether.

I very much doubt that. Until the NFL's internal red tape process has run to completion, courts will dismiss a case challenging the punishment as "unripe".

Agreed. No court will touch the case until all the internal remedies are exhausted, irregardless of how futile an appeal heard by Goodell will be.

This is going to court, and hopefully Brady gets an injunction against the suspension because it is not getting settled anytime soon.

I do not understand the arrogance of Goodell. Is the Senator's son upset that someone would question a poorly written erroneous report and question his authority. I personally think the Patriot players should go on strike until Goodell is relieved his duties. NBC paid a lot of money and imagine there is no kickoff game for them. F-Goodell the biggest douche in America

Brady needs it to happen. This will reinforce their contention that the league is biased and has no intention of this being exposed as a sting, entrapment and slander. The courts will eat that up. TB is given no fair ground to prove his side. And where the hell is the investigation into the other teams, NFL employees, etc...? No phone records, no interviews... This is a conspiracy

I don't think it's clear cut. The narrative by the Patriots, Brady and the NFLPA has already been established.

"Because of the numerous falsehoods proclaimed in the Wells Report, it is clear to Mr. Brady that the NFL has a pre-ordained bias towards the Patriots organization. The NFLPA and Mr. Brady do not feel that, because of his capacity as NFL Commissioner, Mr. Goodell can oversee this matter as an independent entity.".

This is a step to invalidate Goody's power. This is what the NFLPA wants.

The other tactic is let Goody hear them, it get shot down and sue.

The NFL has had "independent" arbitrators before. Why different this time?

... i keep hearing Brady's phone brought up ... NFL/Wells had those 2 poor souls phones, why do they need Brady's. DO people understand how phones work, send/receive the whole thing!??! People can't be this stupid can't they!?!?!? Unreal
Wells himself, at his presser, said he never asked for the phone, just records of texts that were relevant to the case. Maybe TB had none he felt were relevant.

Based on this latest tweet, is Goodell still arbitrator? Got to give it up to that Kessler, he one tricky fella.

The jokers have to testify as to exactly when they were contacted by the Colts so as to address the "sting" allegations.
