Freeman: Goodell will Hear Brady's Appeal

I don't get this move by Goodell. It only guarantees this is going to court. It only makes Brady's case stronger when he does go to court. It seems like a major misstep to gain a short term win of PR until the courts make him look foolish.

Idiot jets fan telling me courts don't like to get involved so this won't be able to go to court...umm ok

Are you sure you weren't just talking to Goodell?

Its almost like today's press release about the appeal was a dare and Roger took the bait. Had he thought it over a few days he'd have realized it wasn't the best idea.

I can't see what is going through his (or his council's) head. If they had some rock solid evidence they thought they could nail him on at the appeal, wouldn't they have released it in the Wells report? Did he go in thinking he could get away with the "4 games JK 2 games" thing he tends to do with appeals? I am really curious.

What if the process is long and Brady plays the full 2015 season (even the playoffs) ?? LOL

Iam sure Goodell has some plan behind this. If he knows his job is on the line he is not going down quietly. Not happy about this.

BTW, this is a way for Goodell to get out of this, at least in regards to Brady, in case people are missing it:

Overturn all 4 games of suspension
Fine Brady for his so-called lack of cooperation

The question is whether or not Goodell will take that lifeline.

Wont he look like the Emperor without clothes?

Doling out suspensions and then rescinding them a few weeks later.

Has Goodell ever struck you as a guy who has a plan?

Well if his plan is to draw this conflict onto a neutral field where he will almost certainly lose he's doing a bang up job at it.

I wish we would stop using that phrase. It's accurate, but it is not cool to repeatedly speak about Goodell having no clothes. Does anyone really want to think about that?

Why? After all, it was Troy Vincent who handed down the suspension.*

*See: plausible deniability

Even a failing plan is a plan. And he's had plenty of those kind in the past.
