Patriots Legal Counsel Rebuttal of Wells Report

I think the Deflator explanation is very plausible. If they had wanted to lie they could have said " it was his nickname because he had a lot of sex with inflatable women".

That hasn't been my experience today. I've been openly mocked about it all day, my drinking buddies did a whole skit earlier today about our legal team trying to brainstorm awful ideas about the deflator. They're a bunch of Steeler loving c**** though.

I wish I could be as optimistic as some of you guys, probably would be a lot easier if I wasn't constantly hearing how about how "stupid" our responses are on a daily basis. I vehemently disagree with what they have to say but when you hear it over and over it's starts to wear on you and creep it's way into your conscious.

I've never had to be a Pats fan outside NE...it must be brutal  I bet your Steeler buddies are gloating over Brady being suspended for Week 1 vs. Pittsburgh....Don't worry though, when we win our next Super Bowl, you can shove it all in their faces!!

I agree. On the surface, the 'Deflator'-weight loss explanation is easy to ridicule...you think what you went through is bad....just wait and see....Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, John Stewart, and SNL are all gonna have a field day with this

Keeping the balls in a trashbag is consistent with a desire on the part of the Colts for their footballs to "win" the only game they were capable of participating in that day, the "sting" game where they and the refs "measure" the Pats into post-facto "defeat."

Alongside the Jags noticing the Colts with needles + the Panthers/Vikings ball heating incident, they should've mentioned Aaron Rodgers self admission of over inflating footballs beyond the legal limit.

Anyhoo. Great read. Know what's satisfying? It reads like a digest of all the best points made here the last few days. Not saying Nobel Laureates need patsfans.com to help out the Pats' counsel. Just saying, we do pretty good for a bunch of dumbasses. Better than the Shield anyway.

"The Deflator" as a reference to weight-loss is SUPPORTED BY THE TEXT.

Where is your version of "The Deflator" supported by the text? OH, RIGHT, IT ISN'T SUPPORTED BY THE TEXT.

One point I would like to make is I hope this isn't Kraft's final action (as some in media have suggested)

I think one big thing to push on the idiot deflator crowd is the job duties relationship, specifically him likely having to of deflated thousands of footballs, for their break in procedures. I've worked in several positions where job duties easily earn you nicknames. Tie it in with weight loss and it is further a joke which these two obviously relate too.

I disagree. No reason to go after Rodgers. In fact, Rodgers should be defending Tom right now.

I think his admission was in defense of Tom then. Would like to see another statement from him.

They're coming for you Roger....

So now the haters are latching on to the fact that Mackinnon is a co-founder of a company that Kraft invested in. I don't get why people are resorting to appeals to authority re: easily verifiable, middle-school level science in the first place, but given that that's the direction stupid people appear to be taking this, that is a significant mistake by the Pats. If you're attacking the league for utterly failing to use impartial resources, you should go to pretty great lengths to avoid any appearance of doing the same.

Kraft investment group is NOT the Patriots. The initial posting was accurate. In all likelihood, that was a product of asking something like "This guy have anything to do with the Patriots?" getting "no" for an answer, and getting the info about the investment group later. It's a mistake, but it was quickly fixed.

As I noted earlier, the Patriots attorneys corrected the item instead of making a telephone call and trying to re-define "independent", which was the Wells approach.

He's too busy answering questions on Celebrity Jeopardy

I was in Florida for years, including a bunch of years in the heart of Dolphins country. It actually wasn't bad for me at all. Most people were very good-natured with the rivalry stuff.

No one is giving sh** for Deflategate?

deflator as in losing weight might sound fishy , but certainly plausible. My wife called me the whittler when I was losing weight..as in whittling away.

Nah they don't wanna stir up anything with Rodgers. What has he done for us to take aim at him over something we all understand is ridiculous.

I'm with most on here that wish their was a better explanation for deflator comment. But with that said can it just actually be that's what the patriots were told when they asked the guys so just published the truth, whether it sounds far fetched to some or not why lie if that's what they were told? I will say though when they posted the other texts around those texts, it did make it seem possible, however the media is choosing just to talk about the one line of losing weight. Out to nail the pats at first sounded a little out there to me but not anymore. Just 1 small example i was listening to ESPN radio (I know stupid) but they were interviewing Michael Irvin and as soon as he started pointing out flaws in wells report etc they literally broke straight to a commercial, in the middle of him talking, I never got to hear what all he said. And he tried talking when they came back on and they said they had to wrap it up. It's really sickening. Jealousy breeds major hate.
