Patriots Legal Counsel Rebuttal of Wells Report

Did I seriously have my posts removed because I don't like the "losing weight" claim. Is this communist Russia where I can't have my own opinion if it doesn't fit the agenda?

I explained that it made much more sense to talk about McNally being the deflator because he has to take air out when the balls are over the legal limit which does happen. That is how you create a believable shadow of doubt.

Are you advocating they make up a story to sound better than what it actually was? Because if discovered that would not go over well at all, friend.

Maybe, but it feels like bait to me. I'm just hoping beyond hope that Wells holds another conference call to say "That McKinnon guy is full of ****! How can he be independent if the Patriots' owner invested in his company! He got paid by them, obviously he's a shill!"

Hmm, how indeed Mr. Wells. Btw, how do you intend to spend your $5 million?

We have Mackinnon, a post on drewfustin.com, a post on foxsports.com saying the rain factor wasn't fully accounted for. Sure mackinnon is from MA, drew is a Pats fan, and the prof on foxsports is from NH. So they have a reason why they want to refute Exponent, but no one has definitively refuted their claims with a scientific argument. The science should stand alone no matter who your favorite team is.

Better yet, havent seen an article supporting Exponent's analysis to refute the pro-Pats guys.

The point a lot of people here are missing is that the explanation what deflater meant it the context of the text msgs is not an excuse but an explanation given independently by the two parties already during the interview portion of the entire investigation.

This is not something that they just came up with. And however cringeworthy it may sound it is better that everything was addressed in the response to the Wells report. Leaving it out would have looked like admitting that there is no other explanation.

The reason that people are missing that point is because they aren't reading the entire text. That use of the word was explained to Inspector Clouseau by the witnesses.

The same thing happened to Tom Curran when he joked about testing how long it takes to go to the bathroom, which did come up in the counter-report.

I also like the fact that the counter-report leads me to believe that this fight isn't going to end at a mere drop of the suspension to Brady. I hope that's a fact.

It's kinda too ridiculous not to be true. I want clarification on if he ment dorito dink or dorito ****. Because dorito **** is a serious condition.

You probably had your post removed because you're the special kind of troll who compares a forum to soviet Russia because a trolling post got removed.

My guess is that they went with it was a weight loss reference versus your alternative because they're more concerned with conveying the truth than making up the best spin possible. Sometimes the truth is really stupid.

Drew Fustin exonerates the Pats without resorting to any wizardry as he puts it. He doesnt need anything more than whats in the Wells Report to prove his point.

However yes, there is probably an easy .3 to .5 psi that could be squeezed out of other environmental factors that Exponent did not consider.

For example:

Colts kept their footballs in a trashbag (dont ask me).

Patriots had their's out in the open and exposed to the elements.

Patriots were using their footballs for an entire 4:54 of the last half.

Colts used their footballs for a kneeldown for 9 seconds

I never thought I'd be in such a great mood just a few days after losing a 1st round draft pick and having our GOAT quarterback wrongly suspended. Today is pretty awesome.

Media will ignore the complete annihilation of the Wells Report because the media is corrupt and aimed at idiots who don't read, but I don't care.

…and I cannot stand it.

You're correct about....I watched the national news outlets tonight, and none of them really seem that concerned with the Patriots' perspective - not nearly as when the Wells report first hit. I guess the upside of all that is that we're spared any humiliation that comes with the "deflator" weight loss reference :D We really avoided a PR crisis with that

EDIT: On the second....we might encounter "deflator" references on talk-shows tonight and SNL . Oh no!

Does anyone have the game DVR'd? That last 5 minutes of game time was probably more like 15 minutes in actual time. Can someone check that out?

Awesome, awesome point!

THAT'S what I want to know.

If both Jastremski and McNally gave that definition to Wells, why did Wells completely ignore that in his report.

He could have written, "they claimed that it meant this, but it seems far-fetched".

Instead he redacted it from the report altogether.
Wells never asked them about it.
He found it later, and that was the reason he requested the extra interview with McNally.
The Pats counsel describer this in great detail.
They inteviewed the Deflator for 7 hours and it ended when they said they had no more questions.
Later they found the text, so they requested him again.
Pats said he had been through enough and cited Wells own words that he would not interview anyone more than once unless new information were discovered. The Pats counsel offered to make him available other than in person, and offered to pose the questions themselves and let Wells know the answer. Wells would not tell them what he wanted to ask, and would not give them any answer to what new information there was.

In other words, Wells told the Pats he would interview everyone once and only once, but if new facts came in, he may need to ask again.
He didn't get any new facts, but found out he missed one. So due to his failure to do his job, wanted to interview The Deflator again, and would not cooperate with the Pats counsel in explaining why he wanted to violate his own ground rules.
This equal Patriots failed to cooperate.

Ted Wells is having a drink with Patradomous tonight.

First of all shadow of doubt is not the standard.
Secondly, did you just say they should lie?

Was it a failure to do his job?

Or did he think the text was irrelevant?

And then he got back the report from Exponent and he was shocked that they didn't have the Patriots dead to rights.

That hasn't been my experience today. I've been openly mocked about it all day, my drinking buddies did a whole skit earlier today about our legal team trying to brainstorm awful ideas about the deflator. They're a bunch of Steeler loving c**** though.

I wish I could be as optimistic as some of you guys, probably would be a lot easier if I wasn't constantly hearing how about how "stupid" our responses are on a daily basis. I vehemently disagree with what they have to say but when you hear it over and over it's starts to wear on you and creep it's way into your conscious.

He spent 7 hours questioning McNally going over all of the texts in great detail, but didn't see or forgot to ask about that one.

I believe Exponent's original report exonerated the Patriots or at least said it was extremely likely that the psi decrease was explained by IGL. I believe Wells sent them back to alter their testing and parameters (including the gauge question) in order to get it look like they were altered.

That's because the media is geared to this IQ level.

I'm not sure why it is a problem for you that the nickname The Deflator gave himself is something yuo find stupid. Perhaps you should take that up with him rather than posting that you wish the attorney for the Patriots lied when he was in the process of debunking every scintilla of 'evidence' in the Wells report.
