BREAKING: Tom Brady has filed his appeal

Whether the public ever believes the Pats is neither here or nor there when it comes to Teddy boy. His report will be demolished and he'll look like an ass. That's what he gets for carrying the NFLs water.

Hey Greg Bedard do you still think Ted Wells schooled Don Yee?

That conference call that Wells did is when Wells decided to overstep and say "direct evidence".

Bingo; I bet Yee was positively giddy when he learned that Ted Wells was making that conference call.

If Goodell is as confident as Wells that the only logical way to vote if you were on a jury is to check "proven", he should grant the NFLPA request to use a truly independent arbitrator for this hearing. My guess is he will go with Henderson anyway.

#NFLPA Statement on Appeal Filed on Behalf of Tom Brady: http://bit.ly/1H5FXT3

The NFLPA has filed an appeal of the four-game suspension of Tom Brady handed down by Troy Vincent.

Given the NFL’s history of inconsistency and arbitrary decisions in disciplinary matters, it is only fair that a neutral arbitrator hear this appeal.

If Ted Wells and the NFL believe, as their public comments stated, that the evidence in their report is “direct” and “inculpatory,” then they should be confident enough to present their case before someone who is truly independent.

That's what's I call throwing down a gauntlet. Come on Rog, there was no predetermination whatsoever, there was no sting, Wells was completely independent (pure as the driven snow!), come on the science with both gauges proves it! Come on show us that your evidence to ruin a man's reputation, a team's reputation, and a slap to us in Patriot Nation was done based on a rock solid conclusion and will hold up in front of a truly independent third party! Come on Rog, you wouldn't hand out this kind of thing based on evidence that won't stand up to a neutral third party would you?

Look, I don't believe Emperor Goody will take the challenge, however, laying down the gauntlet is itself another tiny victory. The legal response is a tiny victory. The science being challenged by an unassailable source is a tiny victory. And Emperor Goody actually ducking the gauntlet itself is a tiny victory. So maybe these tiny victories start adding up to something not so tiny??

I'm hoping for the best like the rest of us, but maybe we need to temper expectations. I fooled myself largely thinking the Wells report would clear us, though I had an inkling someone was going to be implicated.

This appeal depends squarely on how "neutral" the arbiter is. Hopefully The Fuhrer's sphere of influence doesn't infect whomever it is.

" breaking news " everywhere. he filed an appeal

nfl network is so over the top.

at worst, i hope the suspension gets reduced a game or two. best case, brady destroys the steelers!

Key piece of info from one of numerous stories:
Go-to-hell ONLY HAS 10 DAYS before he has to start the arbitration. So I would think he will identify the arbitrator by next wed.

I would assume he feels he needs to keep going down the F you road, but can't be seen doing it himself; so Henderson will be it. So that means suspension will be upheld or no better than reduced to 1-2 games.

Roger will push this so Brady has to take him to court to get a judge order them to the only rational end state: absolution and no suspension.

I agree that henderson will be appointed. That appointment will be appealed to a court. Isn't that the way it has gone in the past?

NOT appointing Henderson would be a sign that Goodell gets it, and is appropriately afraid of this going to a court of law. The moment a trial starts, the end of Goodell's career begins.
He is going to be busy getting out of both of these jams with Brady and Kraft. Goodell is walking into a gun fight with a pea shooter.

As I have said, Goodell is the dangerous combination of stupid AND arrogant. I'd be shocked if he doesn't hear this himself and stick with his punishment. This thing is going to court.

Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady! Brady!

Can we call it "the shot heard round the NFL"?

Let the revolution begin. I don't care if any of these "other" team fans change their mind, I want to see the offices of the NFL under siege (figuratively).

Goodell is an idiot shown time and time again. He is not going to allow someone truly independent to hear this and is going to dig his heels in and make Brady take this to court. He's a stubborn and conceited jackass who refuses to learn from his mistakes.

We knew Brady would appeal. At this point it's just going through the motions.

Early to mid June is only 3-4 weeks away
