Patriots Legal Counsel Rebuttal of Wells Report

The Patriots explanation of the texts are no more bogus than the Wells report explanation that they showed proof to nefariously deflate game-day footballs..

Eh, I've been on the Pats' side through all of this but the weight loss explanation sounds EXTREMELY made up. I would call ******** on that if I were on the other side of this.
Maybe but wasn't then how does anyone on the other side explain the "give somebody else that jacket" part of the text?

Part of what McNally does is inflate and deflate balls. It is not inconceivable that he would choose a term that is already part of his life to reference another part of it.

I sincerely hope they are taking the mickey with that deflator quote because but if not that's just made the whole organisation a complete laughing stock

is there any questioning of the 16PSI remark on the report ?

I bet McNally's new nickname will forever be Dorito Dink.

Personally, I think "F*** Tom" and the texts about intentionally over inflating balls are both perfectly good reasons to temporarily suspend employees during further investigation. That's out of line.

They had to address those texts, if they were going to respond to the report. It should come as no surprise that trying to fully explain the texts of guys using "Doritos Dink" will take more than a few words on a page.

It undermines the meat of their rebuttal because of how silly that particular explanation sounds, even if it's true.

The Patriots response should have been

"We're on to the appeal".

Instead, they've now needlessly locked themselves into a narrative.

Me to, so i'd like to know how it came up. For example since they're working with the footballs and on of them is trying to lose wgt its not in-concievable at all for the two of them bantering back and forth and and the term deflator comes up, but thats all wells has and that is not enough when taken in context with all the rest to come to the conclusion that there was a plot to deflate the footballs.

Only a human being without the ability to think or reason would be so stupid as to take that approach.

So, you're probably correct with about 90-95 percent of the country.

This is the good fight I was hoping Kraft would put up. So glad they are not taking this laying down.

I didnt want to make another thread but god damn volin is an idiot

@BenVolin
Kraft last week: "Fighting the league & extending this debate would prove to be futile." Apparently changed his mind pic.twitter.com/xf7lhtZf3C

Did he not see what Kraft said after the punishment came out?

I plead with the PatsFans admin. to please remove him from the twitter feed

Yes but the person that controls the appeal process is influenced by public opinion and litigation- not his own convictions.

The narrative/rebuttal is n important part of their appeal & legal strategy.

Regarding the "deflate" interpretation:
An odd term no doubt, yet the term “deflate” is used in context of weight loss…..the earlier text is very clear. That is a fact that Wells ignored to report. Funny how Wells left that out in order retain the context he desired.
Having read the entirety of the rebuttal, Brady and NE should focus their appeals on the science first and foremost and then the lack of any direct evidence linking Brady. Focusing on the text conversations leave too much to the imagination.......and many different conclusions can be drawn. Stick to science.
