Patriots Legal Counsel Rebuttal of Wells Report

That "deflator" excuse about being fat is comical. This can't really be their defense right?

Just gotta pray it's actually true.

Eh, I've been on the Pats' side through all of this but the weight loss explanation sounds EXTREMELY made up. I would call ******** on that if I were on the other side of this.

Are the guys on 103.7 any better?? Find them pretty insufferable right now..

It's always a dangerous thing to go live with this stuff, and Bertrand is doing a ****ty job with it.

Does anyone here really want to pretend they've never heard jokes like "That guy looks like he swallowed a balloon"?

I'm not saying that it's not a lie (I don't know either way at this point), but the November tweet at least gives it some potential backing, so people going at it the way Bertrand is going at it are not doing themselves any favors.

The anit-Pats bias really shows after this.

They are all attacking the stuff that seems far fetched while ignoring all the stuff that makes Wells report look bad yet ignore all the holes in the Wells report.

They really should have just left this out. It really sounds stupid.
I thought so to but there is a context if you connect the nov 30 jacket
One can specifically see this use of the term in a Nov. 30, 2014 text from Mr. McNally to Mr. Jastremski: “deflate and give somebody that jacket.” ..

Jacket makes no sense in PSI of footballs but plenty if you are trying to reduce weight. I hope the pats had put this line there.

I do now know the generally-considered-average time it takes a largish man to relieve himself, wash his hands, and return to work. On this, the decision turns.

Based on this statement, I conclude it's more probable that not, that you're either a smallish man, a woman, incontinent, or do not wash your hands after pee-pee. :)

So many of them go with the wind.. sportstalk radio for the most part has had the "double flush".. not a whole lot of intelligence, just a lot of mediotic blabber..

If it is the truth, no matter how stupid it sounds, it would be worse for them if they left it out.

No, because if they leave it out the media narrative would be LOOK THEY NEVER ADDRESSED THE DEFLATOR TEXTS! PROOF!

They are fighting public perception, not whether this whole issue is true or not.

They need to focus on how ridiculous the Wells Report is, not add to the ridiculousness.

the rump swabs are buying it.

cant wait to hear polians take on this ****. i'll just avoid espn for the next few months.
nfl network too.

The sad thing is that this site throws a lot of doubt at the Wells report, but people will focus on the Deflator and ESPN text explanations.

"deflate and give somebody that jacket."

Why was this text left completely out of the Wells report?

Me stupid ! When this "investigation" started I thought they were going to investigate. Like why were the Jets game balls 16 psi? Why did the colts have deflated balls which would mean checking all 12 balls. Why did the colts have needle on sideline and isn't putting said needle into Pats ball illegal ? Why weren't the leaks investigated? Who was behind blowing this whole thing up with the Mortenson leak . etc. Wouldn't that prove that they were impartial? Not doing so tells me they were just prosecutors . Probably should have concluded that the NFL was not prepared for a psi inquiry as the psi of footballs seemed to be of no importance.

Not necessarily just bias; the media were duped by the NFL leaks and the Mort report on ESPN and jumped like lemmings to spread the gospel. First response to being played a fool is denial. Give it time.

In any case it'll help in the appeals. They've got jackshit on Brady. His suspension will be overturned and the vultures can sqwak all they want for the rest of their lives.

They had to address those texts, if they were going to respond to the report. It should come as no surprise that trying to fully explain the texts of guys using "Doritos Dink" will take more than a few words on a page.
