hahah - I am ticked off we lost picks and wont have TB12 but over the course of the day I've started to "embrace the villain"

I think I'm lucky because I stopped giving a crap before they won the SB. In a way, all of this is comical now. Just imagine if they win it again next year. How awesome will that be?

I agree about Goodell. He played this well, he handed off the investigation, so when that turns out biased and flawed he's off the hook, he only paid for it. If the punishment ends up being excessive then that's on Troy Vincent. He gets the image boost he wanted, I'm sure he could care less what happens as far as appeals go, but if he's the arbitrator he obviously has to shoot it down. It's basically a win/win situation for Goodell. No risk, he boosts his public image and strengthens his job security.

His image would be hard to lower. Those weren't Pats fans booing him at the draft. That was everybody on every word he spoke.

Bedard has been a real ass. On the radio he was borderline mocking Don Yee. Suggesting that Wells smacked him down yesterday and he couldn't even respond to it. Also that he did Brady no favors with his initial response. Joining in on Felger's crap.

Someone new to the **** list.

Which is poor of Bedard. Yee goaded Wells into coming out and defending his report and Wells took the bait hook. line and sinker. Wells and his partner slipped up yesterday when they came out and said there was direct evidence that Brady knew, the league didn't take the colts accusations seriously and that the gauge didn't matter.

All false statements.

-There is no direct evidence.
-If the league didn't take the colts accusations seriously then why all the discussion of it in the league office and then telling the game officials about it?
-The gauge absolutely matters as one of the gauges had the Patriots balls within the range the ideal gas law says they should have been.

I believe they said they used Brady's interview abundantly in the report, yet there was maybe two quotes from Brady in there.

As for his retort for Yee to publish the notes, why the hell would he do that right now? "Oh, here is the stuff that we are going to use in the case against your report". Stupid.

If your report speaks for itself why the hell would you come out and defend like he did?

As for Bedard guy is a Green Bay fan so of course he has a bias on this one. Yet it is funny how everyone seems to have completely forgotten how Rodgers admitted to overinflating balls and trying to get them past refs.

"Well he was trying to get them past refs he wasn't overinflating them after the refs checked them"

He is still knowingly having them illegally filled past regulation and trying to get them into games. How come there wasn't an investigation into him after he said it? Well it's the Packers and the face of the league so don't want to do that.

How come Brady telling Jaemstrki the rule of 12.5-13.5 and to bring the rule to the refs and how Jaemstrki said the balls were 16 when they should have been 13 is just completely ignored? How isn't that reasonable doubt that Brady had no idea about it. If Brady knew the rule and wanted them under why would he tell them to bring the rule to the ref and why would Jaemstrki tell his GF they were suppose to be 13? If Brady wanted them at 11 or 12 wouldnt he have said that number?

They are all a bunch of slimy, jealous c-u-n-t-s. That is it. These ****king ****ies grew up in a society where everyone gets a trophy and nobody should win more than anyone else.

Just a another sad day for the NFL and pro sports. No wonder why other countries think we are a joke. At least if you are going to try to frame a team, have SOMETHING. I cant believe someone as educated as Wells would put his name on something so flimsy and unprofessional, never mind use this hunk of **** to go after 2 of the wealthiest men on the planet to try to destroy them.

Maybe he figured this would be is last hurrah and cash in and figure after this he wont work again but wont have to. Calling him and his report and this whole ordeal laughable is being kind.

Well I doubt the owners are going to come out publicly and say how they are talking about getting rid of him. As for the public support, gotta keep the public facade going just a bit longer.

I know that we've seen some things about this subject differently, but at the moment I don't believe there's much ill will against Goodell from other owners regarding this specific matter.

You have a valid point, though. Maybe as more facts come out in the expected court case(s), we'll see the tide turn a bit.

Don't expect Kessler to do Bob Kraft's work for him. He cares nothing about the fine and
loss of draft choices. He doesn't care if the country regards them as cheaters. His sole
interest is getting the suspension lifted and Tom absolved of blame.

That's fine. this is a two front war and Kraft has to do his part.

actually there was. the balls at halftime were measured lower than they were at the start of the game. they were deflated, probably due to natural causes.

Words mean things:
Merriam-Webster:
Deflate -
1: to release air or gas from <deflate a tire>

The air pressure can CHANGE from natural causes, not the inflation. Technically, just using the word deflate/inflate falls into a trap of blurring the lines and making human intervention plausible to the casual reader.

You may be right about that, but unless someone else like McNally steps up and takes full responsibility without any knowledge of Brady, he can never really be truly exonerated.

The NFL and Wells outlined a sinister attempt at tarnishing his image, and no matter what happens with his penalty, they've succeeded on some level. A reduction in his suspension will help, but the media and opposition will continue to focus on the lost draft picks, and the controversy, just the same way they did with N.Orleans--even though Vilma had his stuff overturned.

It's ********.

The ONLY route that exonerates TB is full acceptance of ALL PATRIOTS EMPLOYEES innocence and that natural laws of physics coupled with unnatural level of stupidity at NFL (first three days*) and insane levels of jealousy at dolts caused the issue. Having ANY underling admit they did something, just lets Wells say I TOLD YOU SO, AND TB SHOULD HAVE KNOWN just like he says in the report.

*the first 3days NFL was giddy with GOTCHA, because they understood no science. Then after BB presser, it switched from stupid to insane level of rage-driven revenge for making us look dumb.
(Or you can just accept the joker-theory that all the former jesters are conspiracy-driven to get pats any chance they get.....some days I DONT just wonder & think so too)

If we're simply talking full exoneration for Tom Brady and his legacy, which is what I thought we were, then yes--there's an "out" that would occur if one of the two knuckleheads would tell a story where Brady never ordered the deflation of footballs after they were checked by officials. That right there completely takes him off the hook, and it does so much more than any overturned or reduced suspension EVER would. It means that no one could ever question his involvement again, since the "truth" would be told--thus proving his innocence.

As you said, that's unlikely to occur for a number of reasons. One, it would make the club look guilty, even if it were proven to come from a rogue employee. Two, none of us may want them to talk, which is exactly why the club refused an additional interview. It may be possible that we don't really want to hear what they have to say, because while not intentional, it may provide some additional negative information.

I actually said at the time that this superbowl meant the most to me because of the whole cheating allegation (and the game finish!). But now I think next years would be even better just to see Goodell have to hand over the trophy.

If he succeeds in getting Brady absolved then what would be the basis of losing draft picks?

If Brady is absolved then that suggests there was nothing incriminating on his phone and he had no obligation to surrender it anyway.

If the loss of picks holds in that scenario I would hope that more people would start to question why.

Something mentioned earlier got me thinking that maybe McNally's job was to test the balls secretly (in bathroom or some out of the way place) to make sure they were within league specs. I know this is against the rules, but because of past screw ups by the refs (i.e. Jets game), maybe Brady wanted to have peace of mind before he took the field that the balls were how he liked them. That may explain his "belief" that he didn't break the rules by decreasing pressure, although they actually did gauge them, which is against the rules. This would be ironic because they may have been just checking to make sure the rules were being followed and now are being accused of cheating. Is this plausible?

Plausible though unlikely

so when will the appeal be filed?

" breaking news, tom brady files appeal "....then nfl network will analyze that for a week. lol

Couldn't have hired a better attorney. Kessler knows the CBA inside out, backwards and forward. Could probably recite it in his sleep.

Also has a history with the NFL going back over 20 years (Freeman McNeil case).

Fully expect 4 game suspension to be vacated- expect appeal by 5pm today and that they request outside arbitrator. This will be an early test of strength- does Goodell blink or does he scoff? He has 10 days to respond to appeal (prior to Memorial Day weekend).
