Unfortunately, way too true.

AND the sales of Brady jerseys are up thru the roof.

BUT I on the other hand have sworn off my $250 gamepass subscription. Too bad they won't notice til sep, .......if then.

We need to get a 31 team e-mail dL and spam them with e-mails explaining economic impacts/threats of financial choices we WILL make if this stands. League is official WWF-joke level enterprise.

Maybe I'm being dramatic, but if you've ever heard people complain about discrimination I imagine this is what it feels like. Complete injustice for no other reason than who you are for what jerseys you're wearing (or what jerseys you're cheering for). What could possibly be more objective than the rulebook which calls for a 25,000 fine, this was written without any emotion, without knowing what team or players are involved. So how do you explain the extra 975,000, the draft picks, and the 4 game suspension? Since we're combining spygate into this, now it's an extra 1,475,000 2 first round draft picks and a 4th. Hefty price to pay for wearing red white and blue.

The rulebook states "but not limited to" in regards to the 25K fine, so the NFL can exceed that, but you're right anyway - this is a complete persecution. Anyone with an ounce of integrity will admit and acknowledge that if this is the Rams or the Texans, none of this **** is happening.

We're getting decimated purely because we're the Patriots.

Agree but if the 25k isn't meant to imply the severity of the infraction, why mention a dollar amount at all? It's sort of like saying "jaywalkers shall be charged but not limited to a fine of $50" then putting someone in prison for 10 years because he had a brother who was caught littering when he was 11.

Good point.

The NFL is ******ed

I guess they added "but not limited to" incase the Patriots ever did it the Patriots were ever baselessly accused of it.

Absolutely. They are trying to even the playing field. It is what it is.

Either way, I think it's time to move on as fans. While we'll all be hoping that something comes from the court case and neutral party arbitration, the thought needs to start setting in as it pertains to moving forward. If you're not prepared to do so, it's going to be an awfully long offseason full of worthless protests and messageboard *****ing.

True, but when we look back at this, wasn't this all really predictable? When you saw the suspension and loss of picks, wasn't there an "ah ha!" moment when it was obvious what was going to happen.

The appeal process was the real start of framegate, I think for now we all have to stay the course with it.

#NeverForget.

A winning case for Brady would go a long way towards softening the blow, in my opinion. It may also expose some of the obvious holes in the Wells investigation, although I personally don't think that anything will happen to overturn that decision vs. the organization itself.

In the meantime, I'm preparing myself as a fan to expect the usual kind of ******** obstacles that we've grown accustomed to seeing from the league. It is what it is.

At least the WWF was just entertainment. The NFL is a corrupt disgrace with the biggest ****y fans in sports.
nobody can complain about baseball ever again. the nfl is by far the worst run league in sports. yes they make money hand over fist but that will change if they keep going the way they are now.

True, but when we look back at this, wasn't this all really predictable?

What was predictable was the obvious poor outcome that was going to come from all of this. That occurred when the NFL chose to blow things up in the weeks leading to its showcased game. They weren't likely to turn back from that, which is why I never believed some of the media leaks like Sharks of Vegas.

I respectfully disagree that the appeal process was the start of framegate. I believe that occurred in the late hours of Jan.18th, directly after the AFFCG, and continued moving forward throughout the next several days.

As far as staying the course with it--nothing is going to be resolved anytime soon, barring a very odd admittance of guilt from one of those 2 goofballs, and I doubt that's likely to happen. I'd really prefer for the board to get back to talking some real football issues again, but that probably won't happen for another week or two.

Completely agree Sup. A Brady victory goes a long way towards softening the blow not to mention it is a moral victory for the Patriots and Patriot Nation (lost in all of this is that we of Patriot Nation are being indirectly punished by this too).
I like the direction of the Brady defense so far. Remember this, it is said they are appealing the declaration of guilt. AP and some of the others that beat Emperor Goody didn't win on guilt, they won a smackdown of his capricious decision making. IMHO Brady's actual punishment is an AP like smackdown waiting in the wings.
But I tell you this my friend -- something that makes it a very interesting conversation if nothing else -- again Brady is challenging his guilt. Chances may not be wildly fantastic for an authority to say "not proven so not guilty and punishment is not applicable" but he has much much more contractual freedom to pursue that possibility. And as we have seen with the NFL's arbitrary decisions being far from legal proof in the past, that part could happen.
So for argument's sake let's say the stars align and Kessler is successful in getting a "not proven so not guilty" statement from an independent third party authority (let's say a court). Now recall that the Patriots are being punished not on their actions -- Wells said they were not aware -- but based on Brady being guilty. But wait, he isn't guilty according to that independent third party statement. Which now means Emperor Goody has to say "I don't care that an independent third party says he is innocent, I say he is guilty and I will punish the Patriots'. An interesting potential twist isn't it?
