SOURCES: Robert Kraft is 'strongly considering' suing the NFL

Yes but the cold harsh reality is the draft picks are for all intensive purposes gone. So if the goal of the fight is to get those picks back then our side is likely to be setting themselves up to be disappointed.

If there was precedent for a team (not player) overturning a ruling and getting the NFL exec committee to rescind punishment I am all ears! If there isn't, as I suspect, then the only chance is based upon a path that has never even been established. Therefore rescinding a team's punishment may be something that does not even exist in procedure or practice. I don't like it but it just it what it is...

Unfortunately you make much sense, although I don't like it either.

Sounds like there isn't much to lose if the Patriots "cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war", ehh?

Yeah, they know that if Kraft can win a defamation suit, not only will it destroy the Goodell regime, it will hurt the League.

I do have some mixed emotions about that, but it is Goodell and the League who started this. I blame them.

Hey herr goodell had two choices

It was either

-give the Pats a slap on the wrist for not allowing McNally to be interviewed a 5th time but hurt your image even more

-appease the masses, come down hard trying to improve your image but risk pissing the guy has been your biggest supporter and put you in the position you are.

He chose wrong.

There is just absolutely no way after reading that sham report that any person can come to the conclusion if they are being unbiased that there is any evidence that McNally did anything before the AFCC or that Brady knew or ever instructed him to do it.

Besides the whole Walt Anderson/gauge thing is simply too coincidental. He knew this was happening but "forgets" which gauge?

Anderson didn't forget. He told Wells that he used the LOGO gauge for the Pats balls. Wells concluded that Anderson must have been mistaken or lying because using he LOGO guage exonerated the Patriots.

anderson said it was to the "best of his recollection." he wasn't 100% sure.

Kraft will have no problem winning a lawsuit. All he has to do is show the Wells report which completely and 100% says that the Patriots organization and BB knew nothing and are innocent.

Excellent way of putting it (and it may come down to once more into[or unto?} the breach). While I am saying it is very likely to gain little procedurally, I agree it is definitely worth fighting.

At the barest minimum he should be working behind the scenes to have Goodell ousted.

He needs to be very delicate. Fellow owners are going to have their antennae up when Bob is talking to them about Goody. What he needs to do is short-term expose Goody's massive short comings from a business standpoint (ex- has he really been the guy helping us make all this money or are we rich in spite of him?) . My understanding is that he is one of 3 owners who control his compensation. That would be another angle. Supporting Brady's anti-trust and unfair labor practice campaign is also delicate as that will cause issues with the owners. Needs to be careful.

Personally, I like Bob going after Goody and the league for the BS sanctions. That seems clean to me. If he does that, that'll potentially compel the other owners to pull back on the sanctions as they are fearful of Bob bringing down the league during a trial and making the networks nervous during negotiations during the next TV deal- which Bob is chairman of.

The league took away our future by taking our 1st rounder and 4th rounder away for something the Patriots didn't do. Take them to court. I don't even think they should settle for the league taking any picks away. It is time for the Patriots to take down Jetdell!

It should be centered around defamation of character and libel. There were multiple provably false "leaks" to the media that were allowed to stand without correction, willful errors that did irreparable damage to the brand. Some of the leakers will need to be identified though. It is a travesty that the Wells report ignored the corrupt aftermath COMPLETELY.
And.... they must have come from the league office, and isn't goodell in charge of the league office? and since he is, isn't He RESPONSIBLE for what happens in the league office? And like somebody in the league office said: ignorance is no excuse ~So use his logic against him.

I'm no lawyer, bit I believe one of the reason the NFL is able to have the annual collegiate draft is because of the antitrust exemption. Otherwise, prospects could go to any team they choose.

Thus, I don't know how complex it would be for Mr Kraft to go to court to gain back his draft picks, which means attacking the very same antitrust exemption that allows the NFL Head Office (which dealt the penalty) to exist as a single entity of 32 teams ??

anderson said it was to the "best of his recollection." he wasn't 100% sure.

But we are suppose to believe he remembered all 24 footballs PSIs but can't remember with certainty what gauge he used. Which didn't matter anyways because wells disregarded Anderson's recollection and decided that he used the gauge that hurt the Patriots.

Ya real down the middle unbiased report.

Exactly, why take the picks if the report, as terrible as it is, cleared the Patriots? This can pretty much end any chance of the Patriots to win another SB in the Brady window. 4 games suspension this year and loss of a 1st next? Then it would rest only one shot in 2017 with Brady at 40, and they stolen our 4th rounder in 2017 too. It's beyond absurd. Football is the most popular sport in America and has a huge influence in society, kids and teenagers, a federal investigation should be made.

From now on it's the Patriots by their own, **** the rest of the league, alliances, etc...as long as BB is drafting and the free agency is in the current model the game is still played in the field, we will always be a contender.

Ahhh, well don't I feel silly. Thanks BellaChick......and sorry Pissah.

No apology needed. I was just having fun at your expense and should be the one to apologize.
You can have an easy target with most of my posts.

If Kraft Sues, and Brady Sues.........
Ravens Staff, Colts Staff, DB Interceptor, Grigson, Ball Boy, Refs, Mort, BSPN, Wells himself being coached on phone interview and anyone involved that participated and leaked it out will be Exposed, Supoenaed Under Oath and then we will see if all these involved want to play hard ball or weasel out.

Naaa, it was my 'gaff'. It's for me to have the 'metal' to apologize ;)

Who cares. The fact remains that the Colts balls also registered below where they were supposed to be on the non-LOGO gauge.

However, Wells used the rhetoric that since the LOGO gauge measured their balls in range of where the Ideal Gas Law predicted, that was all that was needed to exonerate them....

... the complete f***ing opposite of what he wrote to implicated the Patriots!!!

If you are considering taking legal action..............

The official KNOWS there are questions concerning psi.

How do you not know what gauge you used?..........unless..............the gauge you used shows the balls to be exactly where they need to be and that can't happen.

If you want to protect your words while under oath and allow Barney Fife to proceed........ you can say you "believe" you used.........and allow Barney to conclude what he wanted without completely contradicting you.

Anderson is also protected because his did not make a definitive statement.
