“Brady’s team is unreal,” the source said. “Talented, big-name lawyers: Yee, Kessler, etc. Prediction=won’t miss a game.” That obviously would be good news for the Patriots, who would be without Brady for a quarter of the season if his suspension stands. Cowherd asked Schefter if the Patriots are feeling anxiety or anger over the punishment. “Anger. There’s nothing to be anxious about,” Schefter said. “They know what the penalties are. They know the fight that’s ahead. They don’t think they’ve been treated fairly, and they feel like it’s time for them to defend their reputation. “I think they’re angry, that they don’t feel — they don’t feel, I know everyone feels differently — they don’t feel they did anything wrong. They don’t feel like they deflated footballs, they knowingly deflated footballs, they were treated fairly by the NFL. It sounds crazy to people on the outside who say, ‘You can’t break the rules of the game, you violated the integrity of the game.’ I’m just telling you, from their vantage point, they don’t believe they did anything wrong.”

When it's all said and done, only OJ will have on record the greatest collection of legal expertise.

My big question is once overturned, will that give Kraft enough ammunition to go after the team penalties.

That comes from a different lawsuit, a defamation lawsuit......which I predict Tom Brady will file.

In some ways, I hope he loses his UGGs sponsorship. It would give him concrete evidence that this whole crap has caused him real damage to his rep. Also, it no longer gives my wife the excuse to buy me uggs for Christmas just because Tom Brady wears them, though they are really comfy.

I'm not a slippers guy but they are very comfortable.

It will be overturned, or there will be CBA 'blood' running in the streets.

I hope so. I am rarely on the "players' side" on most issues...but count me in as a card-carrying member of the NFLPA for the forseeable future!

Really? I think it would be hilarious if they come out with an Uggs pump edition...just to get a snugger fit. Maybe put a little TB12 logo on the back sole?

I kid. I kid.

Sort of.

History has shown us that, with the exception of the MLB baseball players union at times in the past 20-30 years, siding with the players is pretty much always the right move.

I think the penalties were harsher than most as Goodell knows that they will probably not stand up, so at the end of the day.. he tried to be badazz, but the Arbitrator did it..

So he can look like a tough guy, protecting the shield, but at the end of the day.. he is just another milquetoast wanna be...

When I was a Union Steward this stuff happened all the time.. over charge or over penalize an employee only to see it overturned in arbitration.. the arbitrator did it. Deferring responsibility through legal channels is a classic, but idiotic management technique..

Roger can't afford another loss in court.

Roger can't afford another loss in court.

Then he should not have acted as stupid as he did.. it is all on him.

I do not think he wants "discovery" of all of the evidence, including the emails that will be made known to the public..

Anyone with an objective mind would agree with you...but I feel like he is the teflon Commish. Nothing he does (regardless of how ridiculous) seems get him removed from his position. I wish we all had that kind of security.

On this, we agree.

On this, I'm not so sure. Roger probably honestly thinks that the Patriots cheated, and that getting more evidence would prove it.
