There are many threads on the subject of Brady. Few threads have been merged so that we can discuss different aspects of the situation.

Apparently those that are merged happen to disagree with the vast majority.

I guess that should have been expected.

Perhaps we can discuss this better in a month.

In the meantime, I get folks can congratulate themselves on how strongly they can attack Kraft and the NFL.

If we can't discuss why, whether and how Brady cooperated, IMHO there isn't much to discuss until the appeal, and I can see that on television.

AND TO BE CLEAR
It is unreasonable to expect folks to sift through 100 or more posts to see if the subject has been covered or is new enough for a new thread. The worst is to spend time creating a post only to find it disappear, buried in one of the 100 post threads.

We have this issue the day after every game, so it's not new.

At the moment, there's really not much to do but sit back and wait to see how it all unfolds.

I guess so. I guess the discussions are to be left for those who read all the thousand or so posts.

However, it would be good to have a place for real news on the subject. For example, the union is hiring Kessler as attorney for the appeal process, and Brady may or may not have his own counsel.

I don't know if that's known yet or not. According to Schefter, and some of the outlets that reported his statement, they left it in more general terms = Brady hired Kessler. Kessler was also part of Adrian Peterson's legal team, if I'm not mistaken.

What you're saying would probably make more sense, to be honest, but I don't think it matters much either way. The Herald has also reported it in more general terms, which make it appear as if Brady has retained him for private counsel : http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/...brady_lawyers_up_with_nfl_foe_jeffrey_kessler

It's a tough call. Last night the first page had threads that had been started less than just three hours from the original post, that were already on page two.

I agree about posts with 100+ responses. I'd rather have the old thread die, and let a new one take life once it's that large. I also dislike merging threads that have had more than just a few responses, so for me those tend to stay - even if they are somewhat duplicate in nature of the topic.

In regards to threads disagreeing with the majority: me personally, I would not merge for that reason. In fact, for me personally I would leave it alone just for the simple fact that it had a different viewpoint.

Yesterday I spent about three hours merging threads where I deemed appropriate, but new ones literally appeared faster than I could merge. At that point I gave up; it was time to go to bed and get some sleep so I could go to my real job in the morning.

I fully empathize with you or anyone else that starts a thread, only to see it disappear. I get it, it sucks.

On the other hand, would a forum with three mega-threads and three dozen threads with a cumulative total of twenty responses be any better?

It's not an exact science, but right now the reality is that the proliferation of new threads with very common, if not duplicate themes is an issue that is making the forum difficult to read.

I am open to any and all suggestions, and I am sure all the other moderators (and Ian) are as well.

I disagree as there are many salient points now forever buried, right now think the mods should let it run its course unless there is duplication of the exact same topic...

Things will quiet down in a while, but right now many of us need "patfans therapy" to voice our rage..

The threads will become unwieldy and finding specific information will be quite difficult..
