Brady has hired Jeffrey Kessler as per Schefter

This really is the best hire for this situation. No lawyer is better suited to fight the league office, he's at the head of the class in that regard.

I'll bet Bob Kraft is feeling really strange about having Kessler fighting their fight for them.

Before the punishment was handed down, I said that while Goodell is dumb, I didn't think he would be dumb enough to hand down and unnecessarily harsh punishment for this reason. I guess I underestimated his stupidity. I can't wait to watch this unfold.

In case you missed it flasox I whipped myself with a knotted rope repeatedly while confessing my stupidity and naivete regarding this matter, you and rlCarr were 100% right all along and I was a dope. Bitten in the ass my idealism, what a fool. Can't say it's the first time that's happened either.

As for the hiring of Jeffrey Kessler its exactly what i was hoping for, he is the perfect counsel for Brady and he is going to tear Ted Wells, Goodell, and Kensil a new bunghole by the time this is over. Kessler doesn't wave white flags, rather he believes in more of a scorched earth policy, and in this case that would be the ground those three assh0les stand upon.

Grabbing the popcorn, watching for the fireworks to begin. Can't wait.
To be honest , I did not think the Wells report or penalties would be this severe. I knew this was a witch hunt and for the money spent they would find a witch. Right now we are war and we will all rally behind Kraft as long as he fights for his team.

I'm going to admit that I only know who Kessler is because MoLewisRocks absolutely hated the guy. Apparently his MO is going after pro sports leagues' anti-trust exemptions. Sounds good to me, that's a huge threat to the NFL. Any owner that was sitting on the sidelines before isn't going to be able to stay there for long. If Brady's been pushed so far that he's willing to attack the anti-trust exemption, ultimately the owners are going to have to hold Goodell accountable for that.

All along, Goodell's been protected by the fact that he makes the owners money. Well, his actions are now threatening the owners' investments in a really, really, really big way.

May he rest in peace

I had the same attitude. Now I am, how do you say it? Jacked & Pumped!

You can be sure the league owners are more nervous than they were yesterday. The anti trust exemption is the soft spot and if Kraft is all in with Brady and Kessler this thing could come the fnck down.

Exactly the direction I was going in with a comment in an earlier thread. Coordinated offensive from the Brady and Kraft camps forces Goodell into a corner from which he cannot emerge whole. Kraft can and will go to the other owners and say, "I can stop this whole sh*t show, but only if you vote with me to remove Goodell and replace him with a respected and respectable outsider." A complete house cleaning is the only way to stop the coming bloodbath.

I hear Condi Rice always wanted the job.

Hey NFL

The NFL had better realize that a man doesn't hire a lawyer of this magnitude unless he knows he's innocent. TFB is laying the smacketh down.

There should have been a top litigator assisting Brady from the moment the investigation was announced.

You can't block a pass rush without an offensive line, as Brady should know.

You cannot defend yourself against a team of experienced litigators without your own team of litigators.

I'm actually rallying around Brady, Kraft will have to show more balls before I rally around him. I'm obviously rooting for the best outcome for the team as well but when it comes to Kraft I have lost too much confidence in him to just flip the switch.

Add me to that list of idealists who felt that facts & science would prevail.
In a nutshell, such idealism was my career blind spot in corporate Americer.

Yee did his job. Now its time to make Roger pee his pants, so Kessler is the man.
I can't emphasize enough how much this hire just makes it likely that they go behind closed doors and Goodell comes out and dismisses Wells as a fraud.
He has no choice, the case is a loser, and the risk is way higher than one disciplinary decision.

Brady now has one of the very best labor lawyers in the country fighting his case, and his specialty is sports labor law. He is going to run that report through the woodchipper

I'd like to know how big the scope can be. Can they include the biased Revis tamper and CameraPlacementGate decisions?

I would love to have Goodell asked, under oath, why he destroyed the tapes.

Maybe in addition to getting relief from the current penalties, the Pats can be made whole by being compensated for those issues as well as getting compensation against the league/other teams, like the Colts, for the sting operation and how the whole the league office handled this biased attack.
