Next Wells is going to go for the Chewbacca Defense.

Phil Simms: "Have you heard of Wells?"
Tom Brady: "I've never heard of him before."
Phil Simms: "The NFL's private lawyer who took four months to write a report when the evidence was collected in the first few days."
Tom Brady: "Oh, is he the one who calls himself the Deflater?"

People nationally may not think he is rattled. They will hold on the fact that he fearlessly asked yee to release the notes and that he even wouldve accepted brady's transcripts without the phone . Thats what people will kill brady on. Its not totally a bad PR job by them but the gauge comment and complaint not take seriously comment is not good.

Earbud and Ted's Excellent Adventure

Ted Wells, under his breath, "Dude, shhhhhhsshhhh! They can totally hear you!"

Ted Wells' Earbud, "*giggle* Dude, you totally just deflated! Excellent!"

No way! This is gold, not only did it make Wells look horrible and defensive, but he contradicted his own report.

Don Yee has caught Ted Wells hook, line and sinker and made him look like a complete and utter idiot who is not to be believed.

More thoughts on this.

Wells is claiming that his investigation was independent and not influenced by the league, but he says he wrote his findings as 'more probable than not" because that is the league's standard.
If you are independent then you are doing an investigation to find facts, not to prove something to a level the person who hired you provides. By definition that is not independent.

Sorry but why is that so bad ? Please explain i dont really understand why..

Because Wells called the press conference to say I'm independent, the fairness of my work speaks for itself, I am just telling the truth.
Of course if someone else is relaying the truth yet they need to be told what that truth is, doesn't really look so pure does it? Put another way, next time I am called to the stand to be questioned by Wells' firm lawyers, I look forward to the real time coaching of my answers from my own lawyers. That doesn't mean I am not giving the full truth, right?

so the texts about "deflator" and "goign to espn" is what he is hanging his case on. please i want lawyers saying that is a weak argument.

This is the best, seriously. ONE DAY after the punishment drops and Yee, Brady and Kraft have barely used any of their ammo, Ted Wells has already had enough, holds an improptu conference call, has a freakin' COACH feeding him lines while simultaneously trying to defend his independence, and proceeds to contradict his own report multiple times while also getting the science wrong again.

Don Yee is going to call Wells and ask him if he should expect a bill in the mail because Wells just did Yee's job for him.

The definition of "independent" is already having a close working relationship with the people that are paying you millions of dollars to find what they want.

**** you so bad, Wells.
