The Axe has fallen. Brady has been suspended for four games

Whether Goodell hear's it or not, it's going to the Court in Minnesota.. As will Kraft's case against the league..

The suspension, while outrageous, is not the killer here. The draft picks are. You can’t even quantify the impact. The whole, “Belichick will find away around this as he’s a draft guru” crowd is missing the point. This has the potential to set the franchise back significantly. If I told you we’d have drafted a Wilfork or a Stork with that pick, wouldn’t it illustrate the impact of this unfair punishment more concretely? Goodell (the f—k) effectively imposed the death penalty for the alleged offense of jaywalking (at least) or speeding (at worst). The cover up argument doesn’t wash because nothing was proved. You can’t be accused of covering up a crime if none occurred. They have not proven anything, so the cover up argument is complete BS.

Again, the Pats are good enough to weather a Brady suspension (which will most assuredly be reduced to 2 games or less), but Goodell (the f—k) put in a poison clause to ensure he got the Pats – the draft picks. I’ve read in multiple places that losing the picks is a done deal. Is this true? Do the Pats really have no recourse? Even if an arbitrator (or court) rules in favor of Brady?

Now that I see the ridiculous penalties on the team, I have to wonder if the reason BB wasn't included is because they knew he would respond as only he can and he would absolutely NOT take the B.S. It seems almost deliberate that the organization was penalized so heavily but he was completely clear.

it's just one draft pick.....

the pats are getting a bunch of compensatory picks next year anyway

the pats lost a 1st round pick when they got BB and it took the a year to go from 5-11 to SB champs

actually, there is a logical problem when it comes to the punishment that the NFL will have to explain upon appeal.....if BB has nothing to do with deflategate, then the team itself can't have anything to do with deflategate. since BB runs the entire football operation and is not part of the problem, how can they heap the 1M and draft pick loss on kraft....if BB is not supposed to know, how is kraft?

The problem with the appeal is that since Troy Vincent implemented the punishment there is a pretty good chance Goodell will hear the handle the appeal.

So can you point out the evidence, or even just some information, that demonstrates what the Patriots (or Brady) were doing....whereby they were caught red-handed??? Or did you just come here to gawk at the fire??
He can't quote evidence because there is none. In fact, the evidence exonerates the Pats (the troll will have to look that word up to know what it means, assuming he knows how to use Google and has reading comprehension skills, which thus far he has yet to demonstrate).

Every sanction was going to be worse (double), once Wells said Patriots and Brady weren't fully cooperative. Withholding McNally was huge.
Cant fully agree with this. The league was going to hammer the Pats no matter what. This had nothing to do with deflated balls or "integrity of the game." This was a Kensil witch hunt from the beginning. Doesn't matter what they say now.

To play devils advocate, the texts between equipment managers calling one of the "The Deflator", saying "Tom is acting crazy about the balls", "make that next ball a ****ing balloon", the equipment manager going into the bathroom with the balls for 2 minutes, "I talked to Tom last night and he said you must have a lot of stress to get the balls done". Tom not giving up his cell phone despite receiving iron clad, legally binding confirmation his personal stuff will never see the light of day and it would clear his name if he complied and there was no evidence.

The fallout from this is ****ed but you can't exactly say there's no evidence...
None of this points to any wrong doing

What is really resounding with me right now is how, in this day and age of social media, the starting QB's of this league (with the exception of Kapernick) have been so quiet? Hmmm, wonder why? Maybe because they all have a ball preference and it has NEVER been a big deal before now?

Yeah, that sounds about right.

I don't think Goodell will have anything to do with the appeal. A federal court will appoint the person to hear the appeal.

Thera two levels of appeal. The first is an internal one. Then TFB can had to the courts.

I am stunned. I won't keep up with the NFL as long as Goodell is in office. This is the most blatantly ridiculous thing I've ever seen.

I kind of hope this happens. Theres nothing left to lose and public opinion isn't going to change now.

Considering the timing, it's almost as if the NFL is just manufacturing drama for a slow part of the football news cycle.

I'm sure piling on this much handicap to the most indestructible team in the league is a joy to most fans of the other 31 teams.

It should make for good TV. Maybe give Jules and some of the other teammates a few snaps at QB, you know, just for fun.

Roger Goodell is ugly

Hey guys, how long does the appeal process take? I'm curious as to when we might know about a possible reduced suspension. Also, any chance we can appeal and get the draft picks back?

If I'm Kraft i don't pay the fine and I make the NFL try and sue me to get it.

The guys on NFL Radio are saying this is ridiculous
