Kraft's response

I'm more pissed about the 1st round pick. I think Jimmy G will be OK. Thank God we drafted him, if it was Mallet, we'd be looking at 0-4 easily. I think Jimmy G beats Pit and Jax and loses against BUF, DAL. 2-2 isn't the end of the world.
That 4 game suspension will be cut down to 2 or maybe 0. Whatever Kraft does here is going to take some time, I recommend you stock your fridge with beer and pop some popcorn cause this is going to be a long show

Roger Goodell:

Just walk away

Sounds like Kraft is furious

http://www.si.com/nfl/2015/05/11/robert-kraft-roger-goodell-deflategate-wells-report

According to several people close to Kraft, the Pats’ owner sees the investigation and report as an act of disloyalty—the worst offense. They say that in Kraft’s mind the league came after Brady, who was suspended for four games on Monday, over a minor issue that’s not worthy of the time, money and effort poured into it.

....

“I really don’t see how Robert is going to get past this with Roger,” says a source close to Kraft. “Robert was furious with the leaks and the investigation in the first place, but he figured they’d be exonerated. Now he’s out of his mind with anger.”

....

Will Kraft seek to have Goodell replaced? It’s possible, and we’ll know soon. As chairman of the NFL’s broadcasting committee, Kraft has to work more closely with Goodell than any other owner. After this season the NFL can opt out of its deal with CBS for Thursday-night games, which means a decision needs to be made soon. If Kraft steps away from the committee, Goodell could be in trouble. Kraft, in effect, would have signaled that he’s done putting the league ahead of his personal interest. There’s nothing more dear to him than the reputation of his football team and Brady, his biggest star.

Lolol Bill Simmons is tweeting SB highlights vids over and over.

"The entire incident began when the Colts intercepted a ball in the first half of the AFC championship game and found it to have low pressure. After the Colts informed the league, all 11 of the Patriots’ balls were inspected and found to be below the allowable level. Patriots sources are steadfast—and their belief was conveyed to the league, according to a source—that Mike Kensil, the NFL’s VP of game operations, walked up to Patriots equipment manager Dave Schoenfeld on the sideline after halftime and said, “We weighed the balls. You are in big f------ trouble.” New England and Kraft thought this incident, and others, showed bias by the league and would be explored in the Wells report. But the Patriots’ theories (including another in which they believed the Colts deflated the intercepted ball) were tossed aside, with the report simply calling the sideline interaction a difference in recollection."

-- Sorry but ... WTF?!?! Did that really happen?!?!

As I've said, this has the potential to get very ugly. There may not be enough popcorn in the world for the impending **** storm.

Somehow, the last few months have made me love Simmons even more.

Perhaps even worst...

I dont understand why everyone was piling on Kraft because 2 hours after the punishment was announced he had not publicly gone apeshit. Give the guy a little time to load up his weapons.

Did anyone really think Kraft was going to just sit by and let his business (his family) get torn to pieces by this garbage?

I think Kraft is going to come out guns-blazing. Why not? It's not like owning the Pats is his bread and butter. It's more like a hobby for him. Yes, a multi-million dollar hobby, but why not fight this? What does he have to lose? I'm really at a loss as to what the negative repercussions of him fighting this would be.

It's most likely because of his comments on May 6 when he said the Pats would accept the findings of the report. I'm sure Goodell was aware of that statement.

Plus he let his business get torn to pieces in 2007 by lying down when the Cameragate penalties were given.

It's good that he's furious now though.

Yes, you do, and it has to do with Kraft's past history.

I would have thought he learned his lesson. Yes, the old Bob K would have continued to be a company man. I think this is the new Bob K and something tells me he is a lot more protective of TB than he is of BB

I hope Kraft declares war against the NFL and their smear campaign.

I hope Bob sees in his mind every time he closes his eyes Mr Kraft I'm Tom Brady and I'm the best decision this team has ever made.

The NFL just **** all over the greatest QB to ever play the game, and it then proceeded to **** all over the team that was fully cleared even by the report. It did it with no real evidence, and it did it over the PSI of the ball, of all things. I think we're all hoping that this was the last straw for Kraft.

I think at this point he's pretty protective of both of them. It's easy to act like the camera crap happened a few seasons ago; it's already been 8 years. It's been more than half of BB's tenure (or Tom's, for that matter) with the NEP since Spygate went down. Perhaps relationships have only grown stronger since then. Or maybe Goodell finally went too far even for amenable Kraft.
