Bedard:Pats sources: Strong statements by NFL officials left out of Wells report

We haven't heard anything from BB on this. I can imagine BB going to Kraft and saying something to the effect "You didn't back me in Spygate and look at the damage that caused, if you don't fight on this I am out of here."
I refuse to believe BB will take this silently like he did Spygate. I could see if it was Week 2 of the regular season him opting to shut up. But they cancelled media sessions tomorrow for a reason. It's war mode.

No they can't keep the 4th, they can have the FU though.

They need to get Goodell removed ASAP. Then his replacement, someone with NO ties to the Rats or Colts at a minimum, needs to revisit recent Goodell judgments, particularly involving the Pats. The Pats should have picks coming from the Rats, and possibly from the Colts too.
I don't understand why Kraft stood by this clown this is the whole fricking Iceberg.
But everything about him screams not qualified for this job.
I don't know how we can thank him for the league prosperity.
I would say technology to get the game in peoples hands as well as rise in fantasy football as well as legendary players such as Tom Effing Brady. Not that clown.

What's all this stuff about Goodell supposedly being easy on the Pats???

It's urban legend. The Patriots-haters convinced themselves that the Patriots should have been turned over to a War Crimes Tribunal back in 2007, so they were lucky to only lose a first round pick and a substantial fine.

It's one of those things that doesn't make any sense, but people repeat it enough, so it gets accepted.

I want haymakers thrown, HAYMAKERS!!! Give me more. Expose thIs jealous pack of insidious weasels. Screw being classy and dump a giant load of dirty rotten f#%^%# laundry out On these jackels...

It interests me how Kraft has been cozy with Goodell, while it's obvious Belichick despises him. Ever since Spygate this was always going to become an impasse, almost inevitably; the only question was always which side Kraft would fall on. Seems like he's done the right thing.

So....who IS this Mike Kensil psychopath?...heh...well, you all KNOW who he is...I beat Barstool to this story months before they broke it in this article.

So as the clouds part over Foxboro and it becomes obvious Deflategate was just a witch hunt conducted by sore losers one name has come to the forefront. The ringleader if you will. His name Mike Kensil. Who is that you ask? Well that’s exactly the same question I asked when I first heard his name mentioned to me 2 days ago from a source close to the Pats. They said look this guy up. Well it turns out he is the former President of the Jets. He was there when Belichick turned in his resignation to come to the Pats. He was there during Spygate. His friends will tell you that he obsesses over his hatred of the Patriots. That he swore 1 day he’s get back at Belichick for leaving him the lurch and sending the Jets into a downward spiral of ineptitude and ruining his career.
Yes it is this Mike Kensil who is now Dir. of Football Operations at National Football League who was prowling the Colts sidelines last week. Yes it is this Mike Kensil, the former Jet with a longstanding grudge against the Patriots who was proactively looking for deflated footballs last week. It is the same Mike Kensil who whispered to Bob Kravitz in a dark tunnel of Gillette about deflated footballs. I’ve even heard rumors that he and the Colts equipment manager conspired to actually deflate the one football that came in at 10.5 PSI. The rest were closer to 11.5 PSI. It is this Mike Kensil who called Chris Mortensen to leak the story about Deflategate.

still want to argue and decry the facts presented by Barstool because it's a "dirty homer site!" ? OK. read the Zoom entry on Kensil and his work history for yourself. I TOLD ALL OF YOU BACK IN JANUARY WHO THIS MUTT REALLY WAS.

That intercepted ball never should've been thrown by Brady in the first place. That decision was almost
as bad as the INT he threw at the end of the 1st half vs the Ratbirds.
And now because of that screw-up, we are stuck in this sh!tstorm. Damn.
Way to get right to the heart of the matter.

Sick of this garbage, NFL headquartered in NYC is a joke filled with Rat Jets. WAHHH BB ruined my career, maybe your own incompetence ruined your career Mikey.

Kraft needs to sack up and drop the hammer on the NFL office. Park avenue should be relocated to Florham Park NJ, it would make it easier to coordinate things.

Could not have said it better myself

my guess is that Kraft tolerated Goodell, kind of in the sense of "keep your friend close and your enemies closer". While Kraft may have thought that by his support would result in reasonableness from Goodell, I doubt if Kraft is that surprised by Goodell's action. A rat is a rat is a rat.

I'd go one further than no ties to the Jets/Colts etc and bring in someone with no ties to the NFL at all.

In Britain is pretty common for the sporting governing bodies to bring in outside people to run the game (the FA for example brought in the former director general of the BBC).

This line from the article gets me:

But the Patriots’ theories (including another in which they believed the Colts deflated the intercepted ball) were tossed aside, with the report simply calling the sideline interaction a difference in recollection.

The one thing no one is talking about is nowhere in the Wells report states the PSI of the intercepted ball. It was brushed aside and said they didn't measure it because the Colts had measured it. But there is no statement of what the Colts said the PSI was.

Before the Wells report people wanted to know if the intercepted ball was much lower than the other balls. It was a big theme in the media. After the Wells report and we never even got that information, no one even cares. I have never heard one person in the media even bring it up.

Why is this coming now from bedard after the ruling ? I dont get it.

there is tons that did not surface for a simple reason.....the NFL does not use fact in order to justify punishment and any cards played before the punishment is a wasted card

brady would have gotten the same punishment if he had given his phone records.......to suggest otherwise is naive

Its a total crock of **** that everything the Pats say is a lie and the Colts are treated like they are a part of the league office.

Don't forget the narrative that had Brady admitted to false allegations it would have been no big deal.

They were willing to take a modest penalty and let the whole incident go. They didn't get that. They got hammered. I bet this was just leaked to Bedard.

The report does include this, pg 70 or 74. The problem is, the numbers are well within the expectations set by the ideal gas law & all over the place. I have brought this up a few times, we have 4 possibly 5 gauges involved. The patriots & colts used to set the initial pressure, the two refs, and lastly a possible fifth involving the intercepted ball on the sidelines(could also be the same that set the initial pressure) The investigation never validated the patriots and colts matched the refs, therefore no further conclusion can be made. Does anyone really believe the colt, patriots, and one of the refs gauge all match? No way the initial pressure were all at 12.5 and 13.0 respectively, this is the big flaw.

My bad. I didn't read the entire report. I just never heard anyone mention the intercepted ball either way.

And I think that is a lot of why Pats fans are angry. That is just another indication that Kraft is still willing to take one for the league.

Why is he giving the impression that any punishment is acceptable, when he should be concerned with rooting out the anti-Pats cabal that set up and ran this sting?

The Pats should be receiving compensation not discipline.
