If Patriots disciplined, Kraft said team will accept it + NFL Constitution says it's "unappealable." But if Brady sanctioned, he can appeal.
Perhaps Kraft has no choice and simply stated what he's required to do anyway.

With the suspension of the ball boys, it doesn't sound as though he believes or is backing Brady.

Kraft's recourse is to go after Goodell personally. I'm sure he could make him sweat and wish he'd never gone after the Pats. And Brady should name Goodell as a defendant in any lawsuit that may be filed.

I have been a Patiots fan for close to 40 years and I am getting tired of all of this. Yeah the SB wins were great as was the ride, but to me how I proceed further really depends on Tom not Mr Kraft. Mr Kraft has done allot for us fans. He had no involvement in Spygate or deflategate, yet you are holding him of all people to a higher standard? And expect a proper reaction from him?

Honestly whether we wan`t to admit or not, personally I have no problem admitting it..If Tom knowingly broke the rules, then he and the Patriots deserve whatever comes down the pipe. And truth be told, I don`t even get why, when Tom has proven time and again he`s just s good with properly inflated Balls.

If Tom sheepishly just accepts this and doesn`t pubicly show downright outrage, then how do we not think he`s guilty? If it was me and I was accused of and then punished for something I didn`t do.....you can damn well be sure I would personally find Goodell and kick the ever loving **** out of him and thats no BS. Send me to jail or whatever, but no one would EVER get away with that crap.

Mr Brady, you need to man up and either crack skulls or you need to come clean and admit what you did.Especially after you lied (if thats indeed what happened) and all us fans had your back, now we are all looking like chumps.

Now if Tom IS telling the truth, then yes Mr Kraft should boycott the season. I would have no issues watching ZERO NFL this year if this was all drummed up BS. Yes boycotting would hurt allot of innocent people, but thats not on the Patriots thats on Goodell and his millions of dollars earning ass...over paid blowhard!

Well, the alternative is to turn around, bend over and let Goodell have his way with him. I'd prefer him to fight back by any means necessary even if a lot of anti-Patriot fans already have their minds made up.
To be honest, who cares what anti Pats fans think anymore? Isn`t it about what we think now? You`re not going to change the mind of a hater. I was able to get over spygate, but this is testing my loyalty. Geting tired of defending the Patriots all the damn time. Sports is supposed to be fun not draining.

I've just read the text message summary, it is pretty obvious. The two equipment guys talk about Brady and his "preference" exceedingly. I mean, you have to be the biggest homer in the world to deny it. With that said, I'm 100% sure that most QB in the NFL does this. Didn't Rodgers basically come out and admit this? This should be a non-issue, the Pats were the best team last year, period.

If they just accept it I am done..Sorry Mr Kraft. If you`re not guilty and accept it, can`t really live with that, if you are guilty and accept it, you just legitimized what every asshat hater and mediot has said about cheating for the past 15 years.

Just because the owner doesn't care, and we haven't had enough time to find out yet, doesn't mean that the fan's shouldn't care or take personal action. Calling/emailing your local senator or congressman to put pressure on the NFL/Goodell. Why not? It just costs you time to support the team that you love against the UNJUST actions of Herr Goodell and the NFL.

A federal judge has overturned Goodell's actions as "abuse of discretion before" as recently as last year. Why couldn't it happen again?

I came to this thread to state just this. I just emailed my state representative requesting legislation demanding the resignation of Roger Goodell, and a law barring the use of any state police personnel as part of NFL operations until the former happens (and the penalties revoked). I don't want my tax dollars escorting Goodell to the stadium. I also apologized to him for wasting his time on an unimportant issue in the greater scheme of things.....

Now that the penalties have been made, it's time for payback by Kraft if he has any guts. It's obvious he has no influence over Goodell and his gestapo like the affirmative action VP. However he can expose the crap that BB knows and financially hurt Goodell by voting no on his salary. Of course this is just a fantasy because he is more interested now in running around with his escort than running the team.

Guarantee you this corporate clown does absolutely nothing to fight this since it doesn't hurt his bottom line enough. One milly? cool we will cut Kyle Arrington for you. The fans will get over it and keep on showing up, plus we've all got London to look forward to!
WOW Wildo long time no hear.

Yeah Wildo unless he actually does something its obvious hes taking his fans for granted and believes they'll show up and buy pat merchandise no matter what, just like red sox fans.

Kraft thinks he's responsible for the Patriots success. He got lucky with Belichick/Brady, Kraft is nothing more than an NFL man collecting his money. He won't do anything. He already said so.
Maybe hes been paling around with Jeruuh to much.

We are talking about discipline against the team. Individuals can appeal, teams can not.
I kind of find it hard to believe that the Patriots organization has no recourse whatsoever, even if it's just some mechanism by which Kraft can get a majority the other owners on board with overturning this latest nonsense from Goodell

Does the "NFL Constitution" trump the real Constitution, or more importantly preclude lawsuits in the courts?

Agree. Think of what the ratings will be in the season opener when the rest of the country, like a bunch of rabid dogs, watches us [hopefully to them] get slaughtered by the Steelers. To me, Kraft is not better, and probably worse, than Jerry Jones right now--nothing more than a huckster. And Jerruh would probably put up more of a fight than Kraft will if Romo was involved.

Kraft can pay Brady's legal bills if he wants, but that would count against the salary cap. I'd rather pay for a starting CB than some pencil-neck in pinstripes.

Part of the strategy will probably be for Goodell to say to the Patriots: Look we'll cut everything in half, but you have to waive your appeal and any potential legal action. He has to make his starting point really high, in order to give some value to his offer to split the difference.

I'm not a lawyer, but I would be surprised if Brady can't sue Goodell and the league, despite the league rules which prevent a team from taking legal action against the league. If Brady were to prevail in that legal action, the league would likely be forced to rescind all the penalties against the Patriots.

I think the legal question might be interesting. Clearly, the league is punishing Brady for not turning over his cell phone. Since the phone is his personal property, the league has no right to compel him to give them his phone, but they are clearly punishing him for not doing so. There may be an interesting constitutional question here. I'd be interested to know from any other posters what legal precedents may be out there.

Well instead of just disagreeing like you ill write a reply, you are seriously naive, the Pats and NFL wont see any lost revenue because of this, I bet the see an increase in revenue. Also just so that you get a little education, an NFL owner cannot sue or ask for arbitration on the team's behalf, it is in their bylaws they have agreed to in the CBA. There is nothing Kraft can do, he cant not raise the banner, he cant appeal, he can only offer non-monetary support to Brady, its part of the rules he signed up for. zeesh...

Well, going by the steps Brady and Kraft took today, have to believe Tom was/is telling the truth and I will stand behind them all the way. Was going to ask why Mr Kraft himself didn`t hire his own investigator to investigate the process by Wells and the Deflategate process as well, looks like Brady has his own idea, whatever works.

I think the majority of the issue will revolve around the CBA (what I deem as his meaning of the "NFL Constitution"), and its relevance in heavy handed punishments without neutral arbitrators. Of course, at the end of the day, this is what the NFLPA has agreed to, so that may present a problem.
