The Axe has fallen. Brady has been suspended for four games

I feel bad sometimes when I read about the other football. Corrupt organizations (FIFA? I guess we almost are joining them there), labor crises in 3rd world countries that soccer is directly responsible for that are truly morally reprehensible, racism, violence between fans, and others im forgetting off the cuff here. Football, baseball...they don't seem to carry the same burden on the conscience.

I hear what you're saying about soccer. But football doesn't carry a burden on the conscience to you? The league has and continues to pay millions of dollars to men who have committed domestic violence, rape, and at least a couple of murders. The game itself has resulted in brain damage and subsequent depression and early onset dementia for former players.

That's a lot to bear. My love for the strategy of the game and for Pats since 1996 has always kept me interested, but it's become increasingly difficult to ignore.

DI, you have been dead spot on about Goodell through it all (Incognito, Rice, now this). Kudos...
Kraft kept a serpent as his pet even after he had a chance to do the right thing and remove him after the ray rice scandal. And it has bitten him back.

Yee's statement pretty much confirms that Brady intends to go nuclear over this. And given how much of a disruption this will be for Belichick this season, I hope he opens up his doomsday journal, too.

Does Brady strike anyone here as the type of human being to go nuclear over a punishment in which he knew himself to be guilty?

I am honesty surprised people didn't see this coming. Goodall does not care if the evidence is largely circumstantial all he cares is about saving face after his past mishaps. Nothing less than a backbreaking penalty will do. People outside of new England love Goodell and the media and fans think now he is a great commissioner and will rally behind him.

I know people may not want to hear this and Brady was not found guilty but it damn well seems he was involved in this in some form. Very disappointing Brady appears to have gone to such lengths to get an advantage.
Since it can't even be established what, if anything, 'this' consists of, kindly **** off troll.

I took the liberty of drafting Kraft a statement you guys would like. It's next door.

Saying if the Goodell decides to let a truly neutral arbitor head up the appeal hearing (which is unlikely).

They would probably go to court and fight to remove Goodell as arbitraitor.

IIRC, Troy Vincent was a member of the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles team we beat in SB 39. Lol. Joke.
He was with Buffalo at the time, I'm sure he had friends on that Eagles SB 39 team though.

The problem only gets worse for the Pats. The league just declared it's open season on the Pats. The league has now established that all you need to do is accuse the Pats of cheating and they will come down hard on them. And since the Pats are "repeat offenders" the punishment will get more and more severe. Wait till the league starts to investigate the legal illegal formations used again at the Ravens. The Pats will probably be stripped of a whole draft class for that one. Expect everyone to find new ways to accuse them for anything and everything (here in Houston they were accusing the Pats of cheating by practicing too hard - that was our friend Ted Johnson)

Looking at some of the player reactions. Blount my favorite so far:

"THIS IS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!! SMH #PATSNATION STAND UP!!!!

The only problem with yee's statement - nothing of what he says the nfl disagrees. they have simply punished tom for non cooperation and not turning over his phone. I dont know what yee is going to do about that. Maybe he does have enough stuff to release from the interrogation.

A while ago, the NFL's PR guy tweeted the NFL's year-round calendar. I just tweeted him a more honest version:

the question is how long will all the appeals take?
