The Axe has fallen. Brady has been suspended for four games

Poorly handled situation results in a poorly thought out punishment for a minor, and unproven breach of the rules.

Sad day
goodell is worse than tagliabue.never thought i would ever see a worse commish.

For all the time we spent over his elder years making fun of him a young Al Davis had it right and like it or not we've become the modern day Raiders with the league office completely stacked against us. If this penalty stands and Kraft doesn't fight it in a Davisesque bring the Mother Fers to court manner I'm done. They will never get 5 cents for an ad view for their despicable league again. I'll just absorb myself in the college game and be done with this disgusting bunch of cry baby billionaires who don't like it that they can't compete and a league office full of bitter Jets fans.

If I wasn't so big into the Pats..today would be the day I stop watching
The day Tom Brady retires is the day I never watch an NFL game again. Dead serious, no question about it. I love you BB but I can't watch anymore w/o TB12 even if you are on the sidelines.

Where Brady goes my fandom goes wherever that may be in the future.

HEY BOB:

Are you going to ****ing stickup for your organization and your QB you gutless greedy pig?

This is your LAST chance. Sack up and fight back. Otherwise you have BETRAYED us.

Too bad we both know he won't

Your two competitors, Brady vs. Goodell...

Brady is a fierce competitor, who fought tooth and nail for everything he earned. He does not accept failure.

Goodell admitted to ratting out any members of his high school teams that had a drink on the weekend. And is thoroughly incompetent.

Money is not a limiting factor in either case.

Who do you think wins in the end?

If there were ever an opportunity to attack your puppet with the full might of your entire life's work and defend the team you have so proudly built, Mr Kraft, it is now. Should you chose this moment as your hill you will go down in history as the most beloved owner in this town. Should you refuse this moment as your hill, your legacy will be that of a coward who refused to fight for the men who built everything your family has in Foxborough

I'm normally a peaceful guy, but I want to see Wells and Goodell beaten. I honestly don't think I have seen any injustice as blatant as this.
At least in sports.

Not sure if I will watch this season. God forbid we win it all again we may lose more picks. Losing the 1st is the worst of the bunch. That costs you a player that can contribute right away and we will most likely have another loss or two if Tom's suspension isn't cut down, giving us a higher pick we WON'T ****ING HAVE!

Also, forevermore the Pats will be branded as cheaters, bash that sentiment all you like but it's true. It took YEARS to knock spygate down to a tolerable level. Now with two major strikes we will ALWAYS be reminded of this ****. I just hope Tom's legacy isn't permanently damaged. He needs to sue the NFL ASAP.

I know that winning teams get a lot of scrutiny but this is INSANE. May be all done with the NFL and its ********. Ok, rant off.

It's time for our allies and friends to come out.

Peyton Manning....You say Brady is your friend?

WHERE ARE YOU?

I don't think NFL is concerned anything about any player or coach's career here, they care about profits and ratings, and issues such as this one brings them all to the table. It keeps the national tv viewers engaged in hating the successful, the 4 game suspension is also very timely since Brady will come back and play against the colts.
Now the funny thing is, what if Jimmy G comes in and play really well? Or Brady's career in New England ends just like how it started? What if, god forbid, the pats trade him mid season for a first round pick next year to make up the pick that we will lose? Those are unlikely but not without a question can happen this season.
But I think Brady will appeal and reduce it down to 2 games. The pick and money are gone nonetheless, this is the NFL's way of bringing us down to the level of competition, it must suck really bad for the competitiveness of the players and coaches, but to the NFL as a whole, a more equal competition field means longer life and better viewer engagement. It's all part of the business and that's why Kraft is supporting whatever Goodell is doing. Hey look, it's the NFL offseason, with the NHL and NBA playoffs all going on, yet most people are still following the NFL at this time due to this deflatgate stuff, this to me is a winning on Goodell's books. Remember he is a business man first, and unfortunately for us pats fans, we are just being used as a means to an end.

Poetic Justice

Garappolo starts & lights it up & we trade him to Cleveland after the season for a 1st round pick in both 2016 & 2017.

If Kraft doesn't fight this he will never see another dime from me as long as I live. I hold him responsible for rolling over for this BS and for rolling over for it in 2007. For Christ sakes grow a sack man!
I don't think its in his nature to fight. Besides he like 'The Life' of and NFL owner, so on top of not having any fight in him even if he did he wouldn't do any thing

That's a "this is going to be reduced on appeal so we better make sure it isn't reduced to nothing" penalty.
I think (and hope) you're right. If not, we all are living in bizarro world following the NFL in it's current state.
