Adam Schefter just said it's a foregone conclusion that Brady will be suspended (2-4 games) this week.

I don't get the logic-poo that reads TB communicating w/ ball handlers after the accusation as scandalous. His words:

Yeah that is what is expected right now. Hopefully the appeal process will go in Brady's favor.

It's "very probable" that Goodell lied when he said he first found out about the investigation after the AFCCG. Seriously?? Everybody else in NFL HQ on Park Ave knew about concerns of deflated balls except the commissioner????
Tagliabue said it best when asked. He said he would have called the Pats up and let them know there were concerns and the balls would be examined more carefully to ensure no hanky panky. Problem solved without a cluster*%&k of a joke investigation...
I must of missed something. when did Tagliabo say goody should have just call the pats?

Let’s please stop with the turning tides. This board seems to have a masochistic tendency to continually set themselves up to get kicked in the head. It’s like a girl going out with jerks and saying, “yay! This time it’s going to be DIFFERENT!” Just stop.

Tide turning? You hear guys like Aikman planting the seed that Brady AND Belichick should be suspended for the season, or more? And spare me what a freaking dim-witted slug Aikman and the others are. I know that. You know that. Since when has that mattered?

Look, face the fact that the potential here is for this corrupt league to do ANYTHING. If Brady is suspended for 4 games, appeals it to 2, we should consider ourselves lucky. That means we’re actually playing football next year. The hope here should be that we simply get this s#@! to END. Forget other fan bases, “legacies” and everything else. Play football and win another Super Bowl. That’s the ONLY thing that will bring satisfaction. And for God’s sake, stop setting yourselves up with “the tide is turning” nonsense.

This board is incredibly naive.

But also a good source of all Patriot related information;)

I haven't posted on this subject because I'm just enraged at how ridiculous this all is, but I totally agree. This league is such a joke I don't expect anything to turn out favorably for us. Such a corrupt, inept, agenda driven front office and media lemmings would never allow it. I will always love football and the patriots, but I think I hate the nfl after all this... Makes spygate look like Watergate. Ugh shoot me.

I think the OP meant that the "tide is turning" as far as public opinion (maybe not) and the mediots, who are FINALLY READING the Wells Report and realizing how vague and inconsequential it is. Obviously those same people jumped to conclusions first before reading it.

You have to understand that the media will get the biggest emotional response from fans if they presume Brady is guilty. They are taking this position because it gets them ratings and callers.

I get that. And I totally understand the impulse to latch on to anything positive. What I'm saying is for the sake of your sanity, do not for one second get your hopes up that this league will behave honorably.

I actually disagree, and I think this is what Goodell/Vincent are weighing right now. 31 fanbases are calling for a long suspension, he knows it'd be the best way to bury this issue and come out smelling like a rose across most of the NFL...until an appeal comes. And the Wells reports bias is set out in plain view. And questions about the sting and media leaks start popping up.

I have no doubt in my mind Goodell wants this buried and over with asap, this report is a steaming pile of garbage and he knows it, it would get torn to shreds by an arbiter. So does he appease the masses only to see it come back to bite him, or does he play the middle ground and give Brady 1 game, 2 max (as seems to be the common penalty called for by a number of the more reasoned national writers) and hope Brady doesn't appeal?

I'm going with the latter. And I hope Brady still appeals and tears Goodell/Wells/Exponent to shreds.

If Goodell wanted this over asap he would have ruled on this soon after he received the report. Instead he wanted the reports to be released so could gauge public opinion and make a ruling based on that.

Even if this report does get torn to shreds and and a suspension is reversed who cares because Goodell still looks like a hero.

He can simply say. "Hey I tried to punish Brady, based on the findings, not my fault the arbitrator reversed my ruling."

The one and only way Goodell looks bad is if he does not suspend Brady for 4 or 6 games. (There are still many people that will be mad at anything less than lifetime ban for Brady and and having the pats forfeit the lombardi trophy)

People are delusional if they think for one second Brady getting off with a slap on the wrist.

I agree with your main point.

However: Aikman was a great QB. Media-wise, He isn't Peter King or Mike Florio.

You're giving Aikman (and others on the other side are giving Chatham) far too much weight in THIS realm.

When a King or Florio speaks, nationally, it conveys more gravity.

In their defense they had to speak before they even had time and the report's summary points were all damning it is just those points and conclusions are not supported by the weight of the report.

Brady will be suspended for the season. Goodell will make an example of him.

I'm not watching TV. After the first round of Deflategate media feeding frenzy, I will get literally sick to my stomach if I watch this new bout of it.

But can anyone tell me, how much psi are people accusing us of deflating our footballs? Did the Wells report even given an amount we were supposed to have deflated these footballs?

What are we talking about here now? .3 psi? .5? The Patriots deflated their footballs to 12.5 in the bathroom?

The average person will always just think "the pats are cheaters!"

I just got into a heated argument with a random lady from my job. She never talks about football. Walks in the break room and says "turn the channel, I want to see if Tom Brady is suspended!" Other people inquired about what she was talking about. "Oh he cheated, he told guys to deflate footballs. Cnn said it"

I was like wait. What? No where in that 243 page report does it say that Tom Brady directed people to deflate balls. In fact, scientific evidence shown in The report supports that a decrease in psi is normal from weather and conditions. Also, 3 of the 4 colts balls lost psi as well. Will he be suspended, probably. But it will be overturned because it's a ******** report.

Her response - "oh you read the report? Well the patriots do shady things a lot ."

I said "I'm done speaking about this"
The average person is so easily swayed by the media there is no point in explains things to them.

Uhhhhhh

Everyone is expecting suspension. Who cares.

It's about clearing TB's reputation. As more comes out....that is what's turning.
