Did they even read the report?

In the report Jamsersky or however you spell it says to his fiancee 'tom was right. the balls were suppose to be at 13' and went in to say the refs made them 16. I have yet to hear a single person come to mention this in the media if Brady was this mastermind ball deflator and wanted them at 10. Why would he be fine with 13?
Indeed, here is the exact quote :

"I just measured some of the balls. They supposed to be 13 lbs... They were like 16. Felt like bricks"

BTW, in the report there's all these texts between this guy and both his fiance and his mother. With that kind of privacy invasion I don't blame Brady for telling them to piss off wanting his phone.

so as I'm smoking a cigar and sipping on my scotch, I had a thought....did any of these talking heads actually read the WHOLE report? It seems to me like they are just kinda reading the "talking points", all the juicy stuff but not actually reading the entire thing. Again, to me it seems the ones that actually read the entire report come away like "what is this crap?" , feeling there is nothing incriminating, or at least feeling like the report has too much "opinion" to be credible. Maybe....just maybe...if these guys actually start reading the report in its entirety and start asking themselves objectively...."does this make sense?" They will start poo pooing the report. This could obviously be the scotch talking so don't beat me up too bad, but just a thought I had.
I doubt any of them read it. As soon as they saw 'more likely than not TB knew or directed they saw dollar signs. There are so many people are there that hate the pats out of envy, that are jealous of their success and want to see the team destroyed that they would tune in. It doesn't matter that theres no conclusive prof, or thats not logical that the whole thing could actually be carried out. The talking heads saw a money making feeding frenzy.

ESPN First Take People claimed they read every word of it. And Skip even more thoroughly to try and find holes in what it says. He couldnt find anything apparently.

Very unreliable source here talking about them lol, but they were ones who did claim they read everything.
There is a big difference between..
Reading
Reading and comprehending.
Reading, comprehending and applying common sense to what you have read to shape your opinion.

They did not do the 3rd.

Though they claim to have done so as well. ;)

I may be one of the few but I like that show. I think SAS and Skip are highly accomplished journalists/columnists.

They are entertaining.....and thats what folks need to keep reminding themselves of. They are actors playing for ratings.

Their editorializing is clearly influenced by their employer. Sad.

The media in general no longer reports the news, they report the way they expect you to see it. Or more precisely, they tell you how you should see it. And if you disagree with the news report, you are denying the truth.
No longer can Americans just be given the facts only by the news, and then be allowed to make an informed decision. Every report is a commentary on how you should see it. Every thought was done for you so you can go about the important things and let the media tell you how the truth works.

What Report? I thought we already agreed Tom Brady is a cheater at birth. I mean it even says so in his birth certificate...

I watched their take and they completely tore Brady apart, I'll be honest I hope its more of acting because if not I have the feeling these guys are more knowledgeable about legal fields/situations like this rather than the actual sports they cover. As interesting as that may be.

That is very doubtful. I'm an attorney by trade (don't shoot me), and there are many MANY holes in that report. But you don't have to be well versed in legalese to see them.

Please remember that Camera-Placement-Gate media reporting contained ad nauseum repeated lies. Now remember that the lies were easily refuted with just a modicum of research/reading. Instead repetition of the lie on TV was all the reading and research needed to make it reality.

and we know how that turned out. Brady will be burnt at the stake (4-6 game suspension; hopefully appealed down to two games) - the Mob has spoken. I just hope the f--k Goodell doesn't go after the Pats also (via draft picks).

Those two are all about drama.

When Michael Felger even admits that this report was biased and slanted, you know it is biased and slanted.
I still can't get over how Wells goes overboard to praise Walt Anderson about his character and attention to detail to make his estimates about the PSI of 24 balls is on the mark and then in other parts of the report point out Anderson couldn't remember if he signed K Ball 1 or whether he used the logoed or non-logoed gauge (of course since he said he is pretty sure he used the logoed gauge, but might have used the non-loged gauge, they used the half time readings of the logoed gauge at halftime which was had bigger discrepancies between the Pats' and Colts' balls). I still cannot believe that Wells and the rest of the country can take his estimates of the pregame PSI levels of 24 balls as fact when he admitted to not remembering other key pieces from the pregame.

Reminds me of that guy who got blamed for the 92 Atlanta Olympics bombing. He was harassed so bad by the media he couldn't leave his house. Turns out he had nothing to do with the bombing and helped save people's lives but that didn't sell. They found a villan, and any skepticism or objectivity went out the window

Richard Jewell. His actions actually saved lives, but he ended up being pilloried in the media because he was named as a 'person of interest' without any evidence pointing to him being the bomber. I believe a former employer got the ball rolling by contacting the authorities and saying he had concerns about Jewell. Since there were no other leads, once the public found out he was being investigated, Jewell might as well have started wearing a shirt that read "I bombed the Olympics." To me, the craziest thing was that, after he had been cleared, all the libel lawsuits settled and the FBI caught the real bomber, there were still people who thought he did it, all because someone put incorrect information on TV.

Regarding the Wells report, I think Michael Hurley made this point: Fans and the media want to believe this report because it implicates the Patriots. But these same people were skeptical of the Mueller report about the Ray Rice tape, the league's report and evidence in the Saints Bounty case, and the Wells report on Incognito and Martin. They also didn't believe Goodell when he said the taping violation in 2007 didn't provide a competitive advantage. So, why believe the league finally got one right this time?

Good post.

Nobody mentions or focuses on this.

That alone, shows there is no smoking gun, no proof of guilt, no sufficient evidence. If Brady is suspended, it'll be the biggest injustice in NFL history.

I am convinced that Troy Aikman is genuinely insane.

Not insane. Just jealous. Knowing he's got 3 and Brady has 4. Eats him up inside. Especially knowing he had Emmitt as well. Oh well.
