Tell me, why shouldn't Brady go scorched earth on the NFL?

Brady should go after the media jackals not the NFL.
Non stop defamation suits

Patriots don't take the field for the Thursday night game and sit on the sidelines for the world to see. go 15-1 that season and win the SB.

I know it will never happen, but man, that'd be a dream.

I think there is the distinct possibility that both Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will resign next week.

If they do I hope the resignations are written on ****tail napkins.

This should be Kraft's speech to the owners:

"Brady is playing, and we aren't paying ****. End of story. Goodell can be in charge of your teams, but not mine. If Goodell comes near my property I'll send a f***ing security team to escort him out of the building. Don't like it? Tough s***. Brady will be on the field. Forfeit the game for all I f***ing care but he'll be there. You guys can either lose millions forfeiting games, or vote Goodell out, your call. I'm out."

My money says they fire Goodell in a heartbeat.

I would be interested to see J Kraft at the helm.

People keep citing "millions of dollars". I often wonder how important those extra millions are to these owners. How do these millions compare to the millions they already have ? Do they have more powers I am unaware of ? I always figured being a sports team owner was what competitive people do once they no longer have the same thrill they used to have when making their first millions. I'm just naive I guess.

Just a hunch, or is there something out there in mediot land that signifies this as a possibility?

Just a hunch. I've been "off the grid" since the Wells Report came out, so I have no idea what the mediots are saying.

I just have to wonder what interest Brady or Belichick would have in continuing to be associated with the National Football League. The NFL needs them more than they need the NFL.

I expect this to get very, very ugly.

I'm fine with appeals, even lawsuits to get this travesty of a report thrown out. I'd be thrilled if the Pats can continue to create ill will across the nation by winning, week after week, season after season.

But retirements? Fan boycotts? Rogue ownership? I don't think they'll have the impact we're hoping for. Heck, if TB or BB retired over this, Goodell would probably be nominated for a Congressional Medal and have his salary doubled. Nobody outside of Patriots Nation cares about the injustice of this report - they want to see the Pats taken down, Brady and Belichick especially. I'd rather not see that happen.

  1. If he is suspended, he appeals the suspension. If overturned, go to option 1 above. If not, call a press conference and say, "GFY, Roger. I am retiring on top."
Kind of hard to imagine having your entire reputation dragged through the mud as a repeat cheater as 'going out on top,' but yeah---it'd be great to see him tell Goodell to screw off in some form or another.

A lot of understandable frustration but it is simply unrealistic. Brady and BB are not going to resign. They are not going to disassociate with the NFL. They are not going to hire a PR firm to begin a sabotage campaign against the NFL. It is not only unrealistic it is the proverbial throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Besides, as far as BB, he couldn't give a rat's ass what people think.

The target isn't the business of football of which they and many they know are handsomely rewarded, the target is a small group of execs that sit in an ivory tower outside New York. That's it, there is no other target needed. The media lackey's and the simpleminded public will fall in line when the ivory tower starts teetering, and it's inhabitants start changing their tune.
Look, the entire case the ivory tower is using for its blanket of 'doin right' is sooooo tenuous. We know it, a few nationally have already stated it, as time goes on more will too. I mean damn this is THIN! So punch holes in this house of cards then watch all of humpty's men put all the Brady pieces back together again.

Hurry to PPV, the fight's starting! In this corner weighing in at 1 trillion dollars is the completely unlikable Super Giant Mega corporation headed by perennially booed, mutt faced Roger Goodell!
In this corner is the otherwise humble, good looking, likable family man Tom Brady accused of cheating by a report released by Super Mega Corporation, one which day by day is shown to be thinner and thinner.
Ding! Ding! the start of round 1 and the crowd wildly cheers on, ummm, Super Mega Corporation??

That would be the worst possible thing they could ever do. Either one of them would want to end their respective careers on a note like that. That's a horrible thought, and one that I'm sure hasn't crossed either one of their minds. You may as well suggest that they shoot themselves, as far as either one is concerned.

Let's examine that for a second:

Brady: works and trains harder than anyone else in the hopes of playing until he's 45, yet has to suddenly be forced to retire on the lowest possible note of his entire LIFE? That really throws a wrench into his future in acting, in sportscasting, or in politics. Even worse, this destroys his inner-drive and sportsmanship, something that is much more precious to him based on his personality and past results/messages.

Belichick: has a career as one of the top coaches in the history of the NFL tainted by a SECOND cheating scandal? Even worse, one where he was fully exonerated? Doesn't sound like much of a possibility to me.

Don't tell that to Felger. I haven't been listening to him but I see the head lines. The guy has really exposed himself as blatantly anti-Belichick (as if we didn't know). Keeps ranting about how Belichick deserves as much if not more blame for deflate gate than anyone else. Even when the report exonerates him.

You are dismissing the possibility that Goodell will call up TB/BB and say "get out now! or someone will be comin over to break ya legs". (pardon my over usage of cough syrup tonight Sup:))

((Edit: Come on Sup! Where the number 12 avatar? You gave up the nearly visually perfect ScarJo pic, you can't give up the new one for a month or so??:):)))

Remind me how to change the avatar again, please? Thank you.

If Brady sues the league, I'd like his lawyers to do extensive discovery regarding the Wells investigation.

If Wells claimed attorney/client privilege -- well, that would be hard to reconcile with the claim of an "independent" investigation.

I was just kiddin with ya Sup. With my recent avatar change in mind, it reminded me of your former, site winning ScarJo avatar.

If a legal proceeding was to take place, you can be certain they would angle for as much discovery latitude as possible. Whether the judge allows it is another kettle of fish.
Of what little I know of trial proceedings, one thing that seems to make large corporations most concerned starts at the word "discovery". It's the kind of thing that could open them up to their private text messages being made public, and the meaning/context of those messages being misconstrued and manipulated. I'm certain the fine folks in the NFL exec offices would never want that kind of unfair thing to happen to themselves or anyone else.

ScarJo is getting up there, TBS. I mean, she's got to be pushing 30 by now. Hell, my wife's in her 30s too. They're both too old for me, which is why I removed both avatars :)

I would love to change the av, but am too stupid with a short attn span to figure it out. If someone points me in the right direction, I'm all over it; otherwise, I'll figure it out within the next day or two.

EDIT: nevermind, it took me about 30 secs. Guess I'm not as dumb as I thought. Weird things happen when you actually try.

ScarJo's fall from grace starts at 30??? Ha, funny. Who is next on the 20-something hit parade?

Good news, the avatar is easy enough that Wells could release a report on it about 1 to 2 months.
Toward the upper right of your screen will be 'Supafly' (next to 'Inbox - Alerts'). Hover the cursor over 'Supafly' then cursor down over 'Avatar' and left click it. Left click browse and select the Brady jpeg from the location you saved it. That's about it... Whoops, save the Brady Jpeg first then follow that process.
