Brady will be suspended by Roger Goodell for role in DeflateGate, announcement expected next week

Or, maybe R. Stokie Goodell will suddenly perish this weekend from allergic reaction to a bee sting. Paul Tagliabue steps back in on a temporary basis, says "Eff this nonsense," and exonerates Brady completely.

Love it! And he then adds, "Oh, and the Rats will forfeit their 3rd round pick in 2016 and swap 1st round picks with the Pats in a year of the Pats' choosing. I don't know WHAT the current commissioner was thinking, but you don't allow teams to steal ANY player under contract to another team, let alone a future Hall of Famer."

What really bothers me are all the leaks... it's just getting out of control at this point
Speaking of leaks, did Goodell's office ever release the results of that "internal investigation" on how the Spygate tape made it's way to Fox News?

Just wonderin'...

He never did find out who did it, but interestingly enough, he ran into DB Cooper and the person who REALLY killed O.J.'s family in the process.

So, this will be a fun weekend for Pats fans, amirite?

I hate the NFL. Every team except the Patriots. Every NFL front office person. Everything and everyone about it. I have NO DOUBT that once Brady/BB are gone, then I am too. ANd I hope the whole sport sinks like the Titanic under the concussion issue and the NFL ends up sued into bankruptcy and beyond.

I don't accept anything about this at all. But at this point I am getting to wits end reading/thinking/getting angry about it.

If it's 2 games, maybe just eat it and move on. Give the morons that figure this to be the worst thing since Pearl Harbor or Hurricane Katrina something to feel satisfied about. This is the most ridiculous thing I have been a witness to in 39 years on this planet, and yes I saw "Showgirls".

I can tell you one thing though; should the Patriots win an AFC title, or god forbid for the NFL assholes, the SuperBowl, there will be NO GOODELL ever again at Foxboro Stadium and there is no way any Patriot will accept any trophy from that incompetent assassin on any stage ever in this lifetime. Will MR Commish be at the opener Thursday night? God folks, I know it sucks but we all should boycott that game. Showcase an empty stadium on opening night for everyone to see.
When I think of Goodell actually showing his face at Gillette, my free associating mind goes to the scene in ANIMAL HOUSE where they are reviewing the pledges and Kent Dorfman appears on the screen. I'd pay big bucks to "greet" the commish.

I doubt he would have the balls to show up, he couldn't even announce them as the defending SB champs when he announced their first round pick last thursday night.

I have to disagree with you. This is most assuredly going to go before the judge in Minnesota because of the defamation to Tom and his brand. It's plain as day that Brady and his legal team aren't going to take this lying down. The words that Yee has used has said as much..

If Brady does sue, it would be a very good sign that he and his team don't fear having to turn over his phone records or face depositions under oath during discovery.

I'm not optimistic. Defamation is hard to prove, especially given the efforts the NFL has gone to to ensure that this investigation will look objective to a reviewing court.

I guess once they put this behind them the nfl can start its investigation into how balls iN the patriots game at division rival jets ended up at 16 dpi ...

Even if they can't win, it wouldn't surprise me if Brady sued just to get access to NFL communications through the discovery process. There's a good chance that--assuming he's innocent--there will be something uncovered in that process that will cast a lot of doubt on the league's agenda.

This is the vid cap that CBS chose to put up for its icon on the story of Brady speaking at Salem State yesterday. Look how hard they had to try to grab that facial expression out of what was otherwise a buffet of smiles from him.ctm0508brady-responds389782640x360.jpg

This is what happens when the major media is controlled by very few people. The masses can easily be manipulated to their masters liking.

Let's play along for one minute. What if Brady is suspended one game. Thursday Night at Foxborough to unravel banner #4 while the iconic SB mvp is watching from home. Wow. That would make for a weird scene.

Yeah that'd be the best case scenario from our standpoint. Would love it to death if Brady was able to uncover some smoking gun email or text message that singularly proved the NFL had bad intent.

Unfortunately, I'll assume that all communications between the NFL and Wells would be undiscoverable under attorney-client privilege. I'd also be shocked if Goodell or any league officer was dumb enough to put anything damning in writing.

Basically, going to trial would entail a pretty serious appetite for risk and public exposure that I'm not sure Brady has. But, we're in totally uncharted waters - so I have absolutely no clue what will happen next (though so far it's just been mostly correct to assume the worst).

The sheer insanity of this is high comedy.

It's almost as if Goodell is trying to incite a crazy response/riot from the Patriots fanbase. SOMETHING has to be done to respond to this outrage but it must be a careful and measured approach. We need to get energized and start planning some appropriate response.

This over the top aggression by the NY Superfan/NFL commissioner cannot stand!

Could have been worse. At one point last night he put his hand up to his eye, I'm guessing to wipe awY sweat as it was hot in there. I thought "no Tom, don't have a 'wiping tears away' photo." Pictures do lie.

It seriously looks like Goodell has lost his mind. I can't predict what this NY nutjob is going to do next but I seriously doubt he will appear in Foxboro on opening night.

He has evolved into Vince Goodell.
