Tom Brady's Salem State speech...

Not open for further replies.
The league and/or Ted Wells are going to get sued.

Brady and Yee are positioning themselves for it.

transcript?

O'hara (and I'm paraphrasing here): "After watching Tom answer those questions, you can see how genuine he is. It's hard to watch that [the Salem State interview about the investigation] and say you hate Tom Brady. "

He continued later, "there's a lot of circumstantial evidence... Tom already came out and made a statement regarding what happened, he doesn't need to come out and do it again"

I hate that the mainstream media is covering this at all. Sports media? Yes, I get it. But MSNBC coming in with breaking news?

We're talking about a slightly, and I mean slighty underinflated football here. It made so little of a competitive advantage that they didn't even bother checking them for an entire half.

In the examples that Judy Battista used as "precedent" were the pumping crowd noise in and the browns texting on the sidelines.. acts that were at an organizational level and held General Managers accountable.

Not one person has mentioned or used the example from San Diego during this year where they were caught using STICKUM (WHAT?!).. their punishment? $20,000 fine and the world moved on, and its completely forgotten.. Now you have the national ****ing media going tony montana on Brady for some air pressure that went lower on some balls that has been scientifically proven to be a natural event, governed by thermal dynamics and the basic laws of physics!

This is an unbelievable media creation unfolding before our eyes... they've literally created a scandal over what amounts to going 5 MPH over the speed limit even if Brady was guilty, but the fact that the report uses such broad terms and passes them off as fact, while completely omitting testimony from the very person they're trying to bludgeon to death with this report is appalling, nefarious and borders on criminal.

The fact that this is getting so much coverage in the first place is pure insanity... the media is a scary monster.. one capable of building someone up and then creating a scandal to tear them down, all to drive ratings and further "journalistic" careers.

This is a very deliberate and calculated assault on Brady, I' fairly convinced of it.. and when I use to joke that 95% of me feels that Football is a genuine, great sport while 5% of me feels its more like the WWE and scripted... well the latter has gone higher after this event.

Simply unreal.

I hope so, can't wait.

Only thing I dared watch or listen to today was PFW. Fred was good, Paul and other guy seemed to believe report was condemning for Brady. As with all media, Wells report , whatever is written is taken as gospel. Interpretation differs. Yes that is right we are supposed to believe what mac, jez (dumb and dumber) and extorant( don't remember name) . But not Kraft BB and TB. ooooooooooook. And yes refs are beyond reproach..as their jobs may depend on what they say.

Good example. When you ask someone what possible advantage a slightly lower PSI ball might give, they say "oh it's easier to grip!" Well, surely a ball covered in Stickum is even easier to grip than that.

If you're talking about the case I think you're talking about, it was in 2012, not this year. Also, they were using a type of sticky towel that was legal at the time. The fine was for not producing the towel quickly enough, which was ridiculous.

Shaun O'hara is really sticking up for Tom on NFLN.

Of course, our man Willie is, too.

Yeah, I expected it from Willie, he knows Tom well. O'Hara surprised me a bit; he wasn't so much defending Brady as just being even-keeled and rational throughout.

@cpriceNFL Don Yee just on CNN says TB had no knowledge on the footballs !

I get that Brady's basically using Yee as a mouthepiece at the moment, and I understand the rationale for doing that (doesn't want to say anything now that would tip his hand on the potential lawsuit and/or appeal that's being prepared). But I really wish Brady would come out and say some of this stuff himself. Hopefully he will, on an occasion other than a paid pep rally that was planned months ago.

I got to say I love this board. The only way I would get this updates on this is you guys that have to suffer watching those garbage so called news networks. About the only network I watch at now is HBO because I'm a movie nut and love their shows.

He already has said it. People don't believe him.

Why would he do it right away? Last time he did it that way the mob lynched him and went on and on telling him he's a liar. He will definitely be prepared for the angry mob this time.

Brady has astute legal minds around him. What onus is on him to respond? Because he's the one who has had the hatchet taken to him? If he misrepresents himself in speech, the media would contort and contrive all sorts of plots. It's not like we haven't already seen this despite his prior statements (as you point out).

In my mind, Brady is doing the smart, professional thing by allowing his team to consider, formulate and respond on his behalf publicly. There is no reason for ambiguity. Set your strategy and let the smart people around you go to work.

Isn't it nice? I can eat junk food, watch Game of Thrones and get updates from the poor Patriots fans who choose to suffer through watching all of this crap.

The latest episode was good. I'm pumped for Sunday.
