Opposing fan reaction so far

NFL Radio this morning was more or less a soapbox for haters to preach from. It was embarrassing. A person may be smart, but people are by and large incredibly stupid.

On the Today Show this morning, 73% of people polled said that the Patriots should be stripped of their Super Bowl title. That summarized things well. That is, the typical fan has no idea what's going on.

Yep, saw this on Facebook pages from mild NFL followers. Patriots and Brady are cheaters, not deserving of Super Bowl.

Maybe we need a diagram to help other fans understand the subtle nuances of the Wells report. I'll volunteer this helpful pictogram which might explain this to them in more detail.

This will never go away now. The report's subtle wording of "they more likely than not" wording is as damning as BRADY WAS STABBING FOOTBALLS WITH KNIVES.

This is never going away and today, to be quite honest, I couldnt be more pissed off with the Patriots, NFL and this entire process.

My favorite reaction is from Seattle fans. Love how these guys are joining in on the bashing. Even if the Pats used under inflated balls in every single game in 2014 (which is unlikely, but let's just assume) the ONE time we know for SURE that properly inflated balls were used was in the SB against the Hawks. And we beat their ass.

And it is more probable than not that their players were on PEDs during their Super Bowl run. Actually the evidence is pretty solid that happened as some players received suspensions for it.

I am trying to ignore this here in Denver. I'll break out the Josh McDaniel's photos with the trophy prior to the 2015 game. Funny that if the Donks had showed up and played against the Colts we wouldn't be talking about this right now.

Just tell them that it was MUCH more probable than not that the Seahawks score from the 1 yard line. Oops, goes to show you how worthwhile that phrase is.

Al Roker was laughing at Belichick earlier this year. AL ROKER!

I live in Texas which seems to be pretty neutral in terms of Pats hatred.
You have never visited the CowboysZone with their boatload of Patriots Sucks threads. They may ban me for refuting their party line deflating balls is far, far worse than signing killers and abusers. It scares the hell out of them the Patriots might collect more Lombardi's.

Had another person text me today about how pissed he was that the Rockets won an important playoff game last night and all Houston sports radio could talk about was deflated footballs.

I really don't think this report is changing anybody's opinion. Those who though this was the worst thing since 9/11 will still think so. And those who didn't really care will still don't care.

You haven't seen the new documentary claiming 9/11 was an inside job, planned by Belichick and Kraft, to make the league and fans around the country more sympathetic to a team called the "Patriots."

Can you prove that didn't happen? Because otherwise I'd say it's more probable than not.

I live in northern VA and have a restaurant and majority of fans arent here are redskins fans. Today some guy called me a 'fan of the cheating pats' as a joke. He was with 3 other guys. After the joke the other guys he was with all basically said how overblown and stupid this whole thing is and it's such a waste of time. Local radio here also doesnt give a crap, NFL Radio doesnt give a crap. It's mainly ESPN and national morons.

Damnit, you got me! Curses!

I live in the middle of Jets/Giants land.... and 90% of my co-workers are fans of either one of these teams. I can tell you that when the Wells report was first released yesterday, I only heard a few comments about the report being out and that the Pats are cheaters (in a douchy wisea$$ remark). But not ONE person rode my balls (no pun intended) coming at me with the "I FCKING TOLD YOU THEY CHEATED" bullcrap. To me, the lack of noise, means they know they have nothing against my Pats.

At any rate, I don't give 2 $hits about what people think. I embrace the hatred and everyone else can go Fck themselves.

I live in another city with an NFL team.

Its going to rough supporting the Pats this year. The only way Brady and the team can shut these folks up is to go win back to back SBs.

If air pressure in footballs matters and the Colts weren't trying to secretly deflate their balls as well then they should lose draft picks just for being gutless cowards.

Takeaway, the air pressure in footballs doesn't matter.

For crissakes all you do is dump on the Pats anyway. Sounds like you live in a perfect spot.

Most of my friends here are Raiders fans. They're too beaten down by the last decade and a half to really care, and even the ones that do generally embrace cheating as a winning philosophy (they grew up on Al Davis, after all), so they don't really care either.

Small sample size, but here is what I have seen/heard/endured in the Tampa Bay area:

1) Co-workers at a high tech company greeted me left and right with lots of cheating comments - all with smiles. Lots of conversations with many people - all fans of other teams, including heated rivals such as the Steelers (lots), Jets (lots), Colts and Ravens. Without a single exception, every single person in one-on-one discussion felt this was overblown, ridiculous, and that Goodell is incompetent.

2) Local watering hole around the corner. As opposed to the office, this is what would be considered to be a dive bar, frequented by strictly blue collar types - a complete different demographic than the work setting. Guess what - the reaction was the same as above, even with several people that I had never met before.

3) Local sports talk radio station. The most well known radio guy in the area is calling for Brady to be suspended indefinitely, until he turns over his phone. Belichick knew all about it, he's guilty too. Supposedly Kraft and Goodell are best buddies, an indisputable fact. All the callers agree. I won't bother with more, but you can accurately guess more details. Local television stations are not so opinionated, but they are repeating the espn 'busted', 'cheaters' line.
