The prosecution has spoken. It's time for the defense.

I beg of you Kraft. Don't take this lying down. Hire your own law firm to do their own independent investigation.

Fight fire with fire. Hire your own respected law firm to do a fully independent investigation of their own -even if its just a professional review or rebuttal of the Wells Report.

There are so many holes in the NFLs investigation that any professional should be able to fully expose their faulty logic for what it is.. client servicing ********.

Why bother? Anything Kraft does will look as just spin to clear the Pats.

Besides, ultimately Kraft will do what is best for the league. The fact he said he will not fight any punishment means that he already knows what the Pats will get and is ok with it,

I say just go Animal House and ruin the Super Bowl if they don't make it.

TB and BB drive around in this and rip up the field.

That depends on whether Kraft cares to fight this anti-Patriot propaganda.

Imagine how many people would be sent to jail in this country if the jury simply listened to the prosecution present their case.. and then made their own decision.

An active defense sways opinions.

What I'm asking is for Kraft to at the very least, present a defense. It will make a difference. The Wells Report is just begging for a professional to come along and expose it for the house of cards it really is.

Thats what defenses do. Even independent ones.

There's a reason why criminal justice is not set up for the state to hire one investigator for the final say. Both parties get lawyers. There's a reason the NFL doesn't use a similar system.

It's too late.

What Kraft should have done was not take Spygate lying down. But, the organization did. It allowed the story to take on a life of its own, unchallenged, for weeks on end.

Now, the Patriots are guilty until proven innocent; in this case "more probable than not" was enough to convict them. While that is completely ****ing absurd, unfortunately there is just no point in pursuing this, as Kraft has understood.

I don't know what Kraft was thinking in 2007, but the Patriots just sat there and took it. You can go back to my post on the Monday or Tuesday after the Spygate story broke that September. People where making little of it, but I said that I thought it was a story that had "legs" and the Patriots had to get out in front of it quickly. They did not.

It's irrelevant whether 31 other teams mess with the balls. The science doesn't matter. None of that matters. This is about perception and not truth. The Patriots function as part of a major media enterprise where perception trumps the truth all the time and they have put themselves on the wrong side of the perception game.

The best we can hope for is that this is motivation for the Patriots in general and Brady in particular to kick ass all next season and win the fifth Lombardi. That's all that matters now.

Otherwise, it's time to pay the fine or whatever, suck it up and move on. The damage was done seven years ago.

Mr Influence has already agreed to throw Brady under the bus if you read between the lines. He not going to waste any of his so called influence in protecting his team. He rather get along with his fellow owners.

Unfortunately, that was the decision he made in 2007. Now, he is reaping what he has sown.

The Wells Report is just begging for a good defense lawyer to rip it to shreds.

Its a shame to leave it uncontested.

You don't let a jury come to their own conclusions because you feel the prosecutions case is so weak they can figure it out themselves, you point it out to them.

Kraft should do a sit down with Oprah, Baba Wawa, or even f#cking geraldo for all I care...anything to clear his, his QBs & his brand's name...

The Spygate case was even weaker.

This is like shooting fish in a barrel. It's typical corporate investigation ********. It's so bad It's hard to know where to start. Many excellent points have already been raised here.

Agreed. The Pats quite obviously have no influence in the league office so they only way they will get equal time to rebut this is to take action outside of the league offices.

Kraft has calculated that there is no material damage to his Brand from this, just as he calculated in the case of Spygate. He still owns the second most valuable NFL franchise (to the Cowboys); the value of his franchise has grown like that of no other owner's. As long as folks like you and I follow the team, watch the games, buy stuff from the Pro Shop...he has nothing to worry about.

This won't cost him a dime. He'll throw those two poor schmuck equipment guys under the bus; he'll tut-tut and defend Tom Brady, but he won't put up much of a fight if TB is fined or worse...he'll make some noise, but he won't do anything.

He's already cut his deal with Goodell as well as with the Colts, who have declared radio silence on the subject. He'll bluster. He'll be outraged. But, he won't do anything.

As far as he's concerned, Belichick and the organization were cleared. The rest is just background noise.

Kraft is moving on to whatever he has identified as his next agenda item in the power game of the NFL owners' room. You and I are spending a lot more energy on this than he will.

Is it possible that Kraft will use this as leverage/bargaining power to get what he wants in the league. I don't really know the inner workings of mega corps like the NFL, but it wouldn't surprise me if behind doors he throws his weight around knowing his legal team could take a huge dump on the league if he doesn't get his way. It could be why he doesn't fight all this garbage, he rather have the bargaining power over the image.
