Anyone catch what they said on NBC nightly news? Costas, of all people actually did not make a bad point with what he said. This would not be a big deal if it were someone not at the level of Brady, and that if it did happpen, it was nothing more than "gamesmanship"

Colts and former Jet employees make an assertion, and a four-month with hunt ensues to find something, anything.

Said investigation was reportedly supposed to include anecdotal evidence from other teams.

One would think that would include talks with the Vikings and Panthers (who placed footballs in heaters to alter the psi), or with an NFL starting quarterback (Aaron Rodgers) who stated that he liked "to push the limit to how much air we can put in the football, even go over what they allow you to do and see if the officials take air out of it".

The NFL's hypocrisy in the handling of this issue is so thick that you can't cut it with a knife - it would take a tungsten needle.

Meanwhile nobody outside New England brings up the fact that a softer football may be easier to grip, but a heavier football will travel through the air further and more accurately.

Meanwhile nobody outside New England brings up the fact that a football that 12.5-13.5 psi were standards of standardization brought forth decades ago - and not something that was used because higher or lower than that would give a team a competitive advantage.

Meanwhile nobody outside New England bothers to think that piped-in artificial crowd noise gives a team a very measurable competitive advantage, as the opposing offense is unable to hear the play call, audibles, or the snap.

Meanwhile nobody outside New England bothers to notice that the head of the competition committee - the one group that can actually influence rules, the way a game is called, and therefore the game itself - is headed by the president of the very same team that was caught piping in fake crowd noise - and got off with a slap on the wrist.

Meanwhile nobody outside New England questions the oft-repeated comment that Kraft and Goodell are good friends - despite the fact that Goodell wanted Robert Reynolds to be the league's commissioner, and was literally the last owner to begrudgingly give in only when he knew he was fighting a losing cause.

Meanwhile nobody outside New England questions the dozens of leaks from Park Avenue that shed the Patriots in a bad light, or doubt their veracity. They also fail to notice that Kraft's demand for an apology was not just for the accusation, but for that damning sway of public opinion.

Meanwhile nobody outside of New England notices that in light of the above, Goodell's standard of punishment is based on the amount of public reaction to an event. Ray Rice, two games. Oops, a video became public? Ray Rice, I changed my mind; an indefinite suspension.

The list continues - don't get me started on Mike Kensil or the proliferation of former Jets in the NFL' league office - but I think you get the point.

Worst for Brady: saying he didn't know McNally's name; called/texted Jastremki 3 days str8 after title game with no such contact prev 6 mo

Rich Eisen ‏@richeisen 7m7 minutes ago
And yet...if McNally was Brady's tamperer, you'd think he'd lavish him with gifts. Instead, McNally wanted Brady to go have sex with himself

Rich Eisen ‏@richeisen 5m5 minutes ago
Patriots counsel refused to have McNally available for 2nd interview -- awful optic. Wells hammered team on it throughout report.

Rich Eisen ‏@richeisen 3m3 minutes ago
That said, even Wells, in page 122 of report, offered this in footnote: Brady 11-21, 95 yds, TD in 1st half. 12-14, 131 yds, 2 TD in 2nd H.

I still think Wells and everyone else is making too much on not knowing McNally. The guy is a part time employee and Brady just might not even know his name.

As for him contacting Jastremski, that can easily be explained that he wanted to get to the bottom of what happened. If Brady was conspiring with Jastremski and McNally to consistently tamper with balls, wouldn't he be in regular contact with at least one of them?

Iam amazed how many people are comparing this to hernandez's circumstantial evidence.

It is a way for them to say circumstantial evidence is damning. The funny thing is up until the Hernandez verdict, all the talk was how he was going to get away with this murder because circumstantial evidence cases are weak cases.

Yep. I feel like a complete idiot for arguing the investigation and report would be done fairly and that the Patriots would be cleared because of it. From now on I will only take the most cautious and judicious approach I can to any issue involving the NFL league office, which means both middle fingers raised high in the air right at them. F.ck the NFL, the league office is a f.ckng joke. Patriot fans should boycott all NFL gear of any kind for as long as Goodell and Kensil remain in power.
Ivan, you need to stop beating yourself up. I also thought for a long time that honesty and fairness would prevail, but as my posts the last few weeks indicated, I changed my mind a while ago. I wish I had been wrong, but there were a lot of hints recently that it was going to end badly. As reported by guys like Reiss and Curran, the antipathy toward the Pats at the owners' meetings by otyher teams and the rules changes aimed at the Pats were bad signs. This was a high stakes card game played with a rigged deck.

No, Ray, I'm not going to play this game with you. It's not my job to get you to understand what constitutes evidence when you're deliberately being obtuse.

I asked for a specific answer to an easy question.

there's no game. You dodged as you usually do. everyone else here knows what evidence is.

If you dust for fingerprints and find none, that means there's no fingerprint evidence.

Doesn't mean somebody didn't wear gloves.

Quit acting like this is complicated, it isn't.

Agreed. Now that the report is out people need to deal with the reality rather than puff out their chests at "being right".

There is so much delusion... You guys will deny anything no matter how obvious it is if its badmouthing the patriots. Stop being so biased.

Wells only said it's probable because there is no concrete evidence so formally it is the right thing to say... but circumstantial evidence is enough to convict someone of wrong doing, and there's about 200 pages of circumstantial evidence here...

It is CLEAR from the texts that Brady was giving gifts to McNally.
He calls himself "the deflator" while saying he needs new kicks, new gifts.
Do you think the other assistant was giving McNally gifts without Brady's knowledge?
What about Brady's text messages to the other assistant asking him if hes okay and the assistant replying he's nervous? Why be nervous if you're innocent?

I love the Patriots and I love Brady, I really don't care if he bribed an assistant into changing pressure... but it's pretty obvious that Brady at least knew a bit about it.

Looks to me that he wanted the assistant to make sure the footballs were 12.5 psi, rather than 16 psi.

In other words, within the NFL's rules.

More nonsense from you, Ray, which is why I'd had you on ignore in the first place. I already regret taking you off of it. Go troll someone else. If you're not trolling, go learn what evidence is.

And, for the record, the absence of fingerprints can, itself, be evidence.

But that's not why this happened. Was it prompted by jealousy, could very well have been. But it wasn't New York jealousy, it was NFL jealously. However that doesn't prove that Goodell, and Wells, were out to get us.

I'm guessing you don't know where the NFL headquarters is located.

If Suh can get out of his suspension then Brady should have zero problem getting out of his if the NFL does suspend.

Maybe he should kick someone in the head when they're down or sucker punch a woman.

I read the report and it is full of BS and inferences. A college student with a major in English could have probably done a better job. The conclusions that are made are based on circumstantial evidence, and inferences based on unproven assumptions, and would NEVER hold up in court.

So the NFL paid how many millions for this amateur hour report??

And why is Kraft willing to accept punishment based upon this BS report??
It makes ZERO sense!

Like most of you I dug into all the science when this broke and it became clear early on that with gauge error, no records, allowable tolerances in pressure, and the inability to "know" what the balls should be to more than about 1psi error (given some balls wetter, and no accurate experiment to duplicate exact conditions) that no conclusion could ever be drawn. When it took Wells more than a week, it became clear he was going to find a conclusion whether it was possible or not.

IMO the only accurate report would have said the uncertainties and sloppy measurements make pressure related conclusions impossible. The case is based off a ball attendant completing an extraordinary feat of deflation in 90 seconds, to lose maybe a third of a psi. Not only is the timeline absurd, but the ability to deflate in such increment is nearly immeasurable, and almost certainly pointless. Spoiled grapes, and weather are the Simplest explanation barring any evidence.

The only thing making me smile at the moment, is that if the likes of us are tearing this apart with ease...
Can you just imagine Ernie Adams and Bill going over this?
I'm looking forward to Bill's next press conference, hope it's like his last deflategate one on steriods.

Agreed. Now that the report is out people need to deal with the reality rather than puff out their chests at "being right".

For some people, reality is a difficult concept to grasp.

Is reality the actual fact or how fact is interpreted?

Unfortunately I think its the latter as well. Which sucks.

Further and further from an answer to an easy question. How is ignore list - troll relevant?

I'll leave my easy question that apparently has you all upset, to the crowd.

What evidence? A joke by a guy who didn't get boots like everyone else? what is that evidence of?

If it's not that, maybe someone else can opine on what evidence was found.

I'll miss you Deus.

I just hope they dont suspend brady...what a shame it would be for the nfl to ruin its opening night game by suspending one of their biggest stars. On the game they receive their rings and raise the banner

But I dont think the nflpa would ever let that happen. If they do im done with the NFL.

Watch brady put up 50on opening night

Apparently Mr Influence will finally find out how much he really has and who his friends are. I wonder if he is going to call Brady a schmuck now when the real schmuck is the man in the mirror for trusting the POS.

Now imagine actual professionals doing the same.

Hence my far-far-fetched plea for Kraft to hire a law firm to at the very least, give their own report on the validity of Well's findings.

Yes, Ray, a likely/possible joke by a guy is evidence in this case. I'm sorry you're not capable of grasping that concept. Again, go try learning something.

And your question wasn't "easy". It was stupid. We were already talking about the evidence when you asked your question.

So, THIS YEAR, the Patriots turned in footballs to the officials for inspection, and got them back at 16 psi?

Why isn't anyone talking about this?

Evidence

Any matter of fact that a party to a lawsuit offers to prove or disprove an issue in the case. A system of rules and standards that is used to determine which facts may be admitted, and to what extent a judge or jury may consider those facts, as proof of a particular issue in a lawsuit.
