So the balls for the Jets game were 'supposed' to be 13psi. What did this report give evidence of?

Good point.

Which team was that? I am just asking because I have not heard of that before.

As both teams dealt with the freezing temperatures, Fox cameras showed sideline attendants using heaters to warm up game balls, which is against league rules. NFL vice president of officiating Dean Blandino said Monday morning on NFL Network that officials warned both the Vikings and Panthers not to heat up the balls during Sunday's game, and would remind teams this week not to heat game balls.

League can't find evidence = guilty anyway.

Okay, great. I really don't care about this story anymore.

"Brady said he didn't know McNally, Brady is a liar! Also, Brady never gave McNally Uggs for Christmas, which made McNally mad."

Maybe he didn't give McNally Uggs because... he didn't really know him...

Stop making too much sense. That's not allowed in the Wells Report.

What a mess. Texting will spell the end of the planet, I swear to God.

Best avenue I see:

--Avoid other fan sites and news media as much as possible
--Hope for a penalty that doesn't hurt the team (fine away, like the Jets' tampering, STAY AWAY FROM MY DRAFT PICKS and no suspensions)
--Hope to hear soon from Brady & Belichick, which always makes me feel better
--Start playing football, and winning as usual, as soon as possible

--And #5 please. That is all.

Brady will not get help from NFLPA because he's left money on the table with the Pats. They are probably in on this scam anyway.

So the balls for the Jets game were 'supposed' to be 13psi. What did this report give evidence of?

No kidding. If they were "supposed" to be 13 how in the world does that even imply they ever wanted them lower?

So having just read the report.....
They've got no hard evidence whatsoever. None.
It's obvious now it was not Kraft who asked for this report, it is completely bias in favour of trying to prosecute the Pats. Ted Wells was actively looking for any evidence possible to convict the Pats. And this is all he managed? Moving on you found nothing.

There are far to many variables that are not included here. There is nothing in this report about the effect of the actual game. What is the effect on the balls of a 240lb back running it with a 6th OL in a power run game? How many balls did each team use in the game out of the 12? I will be interested in pre-season games where I bet evidence exonerating the Patriots will come out from actual in game testing with a proper recorded pre game test. I also bet there will be a wide-variety of pressure drop from different styles of offence. If they punish the Pats they could well end up with egg on their faces.

P.s As a fan from England, I do not appreciate witchhunts and obvious bias from the NFL office. Goodell may not care about offending Pats fans, but I'm sure he absolutely does care about alienating European and overseas fans. I seriously suggest that it's about time that all the overseas fans on this board get together and bombard the NFL offices with our displeasure at the biased nature of this report, demand complete exoneration of the Pats due to lack of evidence. And threaten to boycott London games and NFL gamepass if punishments are given out.
I'm with you, brother! I would definitely consider giving up my London "season ticket" after this witch hunt (and expected inappropriate punishment), and I'm more than happy to inform Goodell and co that I'm prepared to turn my back on the game (after 30 years) due to his consistent dismantling of the integrity of the game.

31 jealous teams and all the high horse brigade logic. Are you really expecting anything different? Remember, the league caught a team, on camera, tampering with the footballs during the season and after a warning, and it did nothing but warn them a second time.

Not a single damn was given, because it was not the Patriots. This, though IS the Patriots.

Thus the pitchfork brigades.

I'd like this twice if I could.

There is evidence of what? Be specific. Evidence that someone didn't get boots for Christmas?

No, Ray, I'm not going to play this game with you. It's not my job to get you to understand what constitutes evidence when you're deliberately being obtuse.

yes, attendants take the balls after they've been asked to. mcnally took the balls without anyone's authorization:

Do you really believe that?

He says he's been doing it for years.

You believe this is the first time he ever did that?

His first time was on the very day of a NFL sting operation? The first such sting in NFL history?

He picks that day to do whatever he wanted with the ball?

Do you actually believe that?

You can actually view the texts through the context of McNally being the guy who fixes the balls when the refs f*** up. For instance, they had them at 16 PSI that one game. He is the "deflator" potentially because he deflates them to get them back to proper levels... Yes this is still technically not allowed but he would simply be doing the ref's job after they didn't, not cheating.

Take a lie detector test on 60 min.

Now I understand what Tom says about the "next one" being the sweetest.

So the balls for the Jets game were 'supposed' to be 13psi. What did this report give evidence of?

This game was at the Jets and the Jets staff would have had the balls and they were measured at 16 PSI.

It's all silly because as @Dr Pain says, only 3 of the balls are really coming in under the scientifically expected level and it's only by a very small amount. However, this is assuming that every single ball was inflated to EXACTLY 12.5 PSI, which we can be sure was not the case, since the measurements were not taken pregame and all we have to go off of is Anderson's memory. Most likely, 3 of the balls were a little below 12.5 PSI, leading to those 3 balls being a little below 11.27 PSI at halftime. Similarly, some were likely above 12.5 PSI, leading to the footballs coming in above 11.27.

FWIW, the investigators say that Anderson told them two balls measured below 12.5 PSI and that Anderson had another ref inflate them over 12.5 PSI, give them back to Anderson, and then Anderson inserted the gauge and used the relief valve on the gauge to bring them down to 12.5 PSI (see page 52 of the report).

Brady will not get help from NFLPA because he's left money on the table with the Pats. They are probably in on this scam anyway.

Of course they have to help him, without regard for "leaving money on the table".. if they do not then they are subject to suit.. but I suspect that Brady will retain his own counsel in addition to what the NFLPA provides..

The problem I have right now is understanding, "more probable than not" and where does that lie on the spectrum between "reasonable suspicion" and "beyond a shadow of a doubt"??
